  1. Chernabogue has taken on the opening scene of the game (the party and first battle and so forth). Just as an example of something that I would find acceptable to do. The current plan is that he'll recreate the feel of the opening scene while only using two of the source tracks from it. This is what I mean by keeping the flow of the story intact. Just throwing it out there for ya.
  2. Yeah. Well anyway, getting back on track with recruiting and such. Really don't want an angry Darke in here.
  3. You see that's what I thought. So I revert back to my original stance on the matter. We'll keep it to the project forum. I've just gotta remember to give people a link when they join. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. But I can be patient.
  4. True. I guess discussion is OK. WIP's, audition pieces, and potential letters of resignation I would rather keep private though. Just my opinion.
  5. @Tensei: Don't worry. I do have quality control measures. If something isn't up or close to OCR standards, it won't make it through to the final product. @NeonGaming: Why don't we move this conversation over to PM. Don't want this thread to be for anything other than recruiting, updates, and comments.
  6. Well, whether it is or not, this is a good opportunity to add one more thing to the guidelines. I'm holding to the OCReMix standard of no MIDI rips. Also, I think the mix needs to be original enough so that there's no doubt in anyone's mind that it is not a MIDI rip. So just something to keep in mind. Also, giving him the benefit of the doubt, NeonGaming is on for the Tubba Blubba track.
  7. Just a quick call out. HoboKa is open to the possibility of a collab on the Koopa Bros theme. So if you've got some cinematic skills but didn't want to take on a whole track by yourself, let me know please. EDIT: Decent samples might be helpful too. Just sayin.
  8. Ok, I made one more amendment to the "film score" definition. Go look it up in the original post. It's either going to clarify things or totally confuse everybody. I'm doing my best here.
  9. My 2 cents. I could see that going somewhere. I wished the sample was longer personally.
  10. Well, now that I've cleaned the egg off my face, I'm going to make a quick announcement. It came to my attention through my various recruiting efforts that I may have been a little too narrow with my definition of "film score." When I think film score, my mind automatically jumps to orchestra and acoustics. However, some of my favorite soundtracks (The Dark Knight for example) have a heavy amount of synth and electronic music in them. So, broadening the style a little, by film score, I mean cinematic (e.g. not rock/techno/metal/country/etc.). The epic feel of a movie score through whatever musical means the artist deems appropriate. I'm hoping this will broaden the appeal for people like those that told me that they were interested, but orchestra isn't their thing.
  11. Got HoboKa working on the Koopa Bros theme. Anyone else wanna jump in on this?
  12. My two cents on the matter. I divided it up by game/series. Example: "OCReMix: Mario's Mixes" for an album title, and then I just organized within there by game chronology. If a game wasn't represented by more than one track, they got throw into the "OCReMix" album. Just throwing out another option. It wouldn't be too horribly difficult since the game name is included at the beginning of all the default track names. The chronology bit was kinda tedious, but then again that was my choice.
  13. Still recruiting, so it doesn't appear like much is happening. It's now basically up to mixer response.

If you're interested, by all means, PM me a sample of your work. This is definitely a "the more the merrier" type of thing.

  14. I originally had some misgivings about this song due to the fact that the rhyme scheme of the lyrics was irregular. But I just got through listening to all of the other mixes of this song for fun, and I realized about halfway through that I was singing these lyrics along with all of them. So you obviously did something right.
  15. I think it depends on what the results are. If you've got a lot of responses or everyone is saying the same thing, I wouldn't think you'd have to leave it open much longer. Maybe a few more days if that's the case.

  16. Got it. Well, as I polled, my vote is for N64.

  17. Added a new section under staff: Assets Available for Remixers. Basically, if you want to help out, but you're not ready to do a solo remix, you can offer your instrumental, mastering, etc skills so that Remixers know they're available. Chris | Amaterasu is offering his violin skills to any remixers interested in using said instrument in a mix.
  18. So that's the official decision?

  19. Good luck with that, man.

  20. Guess you'll find out.

  21. Eh, why not. Feedback is a good thing . . . right?
