  1. Very nice. I like the ambient feel of the song.
  2. I'm surprised that no one brought this mix up yet. http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01646/
  3. Sign me up! The fact that Nobuo Uematsu is willing to remake his already well done songs makes them that much more awesome.
  4. I love your interpretation this song! I really hope this gets posted. Everything flows really nicely in this song. It is really smooth and relaxing, yet it maintains my interest. I really don't have anything to add so good job and good luck!
  5. Ok, so I think I see where everyone is coming from. I see that there is an originality that comes with the creation of your own sounds. However, what ever sound you use should fit your artistic vision for the song. I think my question is answered now. (My answered question)*1.28/ maximum rofl = end of thread ? Sorry about the math here. It's one of my weaker subjects....
  6. Ok, so I checked around and didn't see a thread about presets, which is surprising, given how many people bash others for using presets. One thing I've noted is that presets are looked down on by so many people. Presets are a useful short cut in creating songs and they save us time in creating our own synths, but when people use presets in a song, everyone jumps all over them. So, I'm wondering, why are presets frowned upon?
  7. Interesting. I looked for Ipod touch/ Ipad sequencers and music creators a month or two back. I didn't find much good, but this app looks really interesting. I'll have to look at this one. The other app for music which you should look at is the Apple Garage Band app (Ipad only) which is really amazing. I tried it out for a little and it is really cool. It has some great sounds and is pretty simple to use. The only catch with using it is that you record all of the instruments live, so keeping time is really key. It was 4.99 last I looked, but that may have changed. Even though It is not a sequencer, it is a neat alternative so check it out as well as the Koushion sequencing app. Amen to this. I agree totally.
  8. Hmmmmm.... Techno or Rock styles tend to be my preference, I also like some metal and some electronic styles also.

I'm not sure of the exact genres, but I like 'em.

  9. Ok, i'll try that. Thanks ;-)

  10. I found this today. If you want more instruments and plugins definitely go here: http://free-plugin-list.com/

  11. Ok, that would be cool. Thanks!

  12. Here is version 5. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8934806/Shared%20Music/OCR%20submissions/V5.mp3 New in this version (V5): - Revamped the volume leveling and EQ - The last few things I found are tweaked - I have renamed the song "Ambient Exploration" At this point I am looking for suggestions on the volume and EQ as well as anything which sounds horribly out of place. If there are no further things to add then I will submit the song to Mod-review. If I think the project is finished I set the status to 'finished', right? Edit: I have at least One More Version coming because I discovered several things about the EQ I didn't know prior, SO Version 6 will have one more EQ update then on to Mod-review.
  13. Could you send me mp3's or m5x's of your remixes?

    I'd love to hear them.

  14. That is easy enough to fix because it is a Messiah guitar, I'm not using Shred or Voxeno amp's on it.
  15. Update: Currently, I am working on the last few changes and the EQ and volume (which is my most major task). For now here is the latest version (V4): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8934806/Shared%20Music/OCR%20submissions/V4.mp3 Added in this version: - More sound leveling - I have regulated the velocity on the guitars and some of the other instruments to add a human playback quality to them. - EQ work In the next version (V5): - Complete revamp of the EQ and volume - More tweaks of the velocity and human playback features Hopefully, if I do my job, next version will be the final version of this song. Until then, any more suggestions?
  16. Thanks for this one, that will be useful. I'll see what I can do about that. I tend to like to layer instruments to the extreme, so I will try to give each it's personal space. I definitely know what is going on with the drums. I added a special delay that causes the drums to echo at odd times... I wasn't sure about that. For the Acoustic sounding guitar I used Synth 1, the lead apr I made myself, and the rest were all presets in Mixcraft which I tweaked slightly or added effects and reverb to. Thanks for the comments and I will see if I can fix this up.
  17. Here is the next version! New in this version: - added tempo changes - some new instruments - new solos - some volume correction Not changed: - the volume on the guitars Enjoy! Under the Lake Version 3: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8934806/Shared%20Music/OCR%20submissions/V3.mp3 More feed back please?
  18. This is a mix I have been waiting for, forever, and I am not disapointed. The first thing I heard when I started listening was the Pokemon sound clips at the beginning. Nice . (They were from Steven's pack, right?) There are a few things which need some changes. Firstly, there is a low sound throughout the song (a bass?) which seemed a little loud. It might just be my speakers, but I would tweek the volume level and mixer on the low end some. Another thing that is definitely needed is more developments. The tune seems to repeat itself alot up until (2:27) where the beat picks up. That was a good development. I just wanted to hear more developments like that throughout the piece. My favorite development/build up was the ending to the song, it left the song at a great point. My only other suggestion would be to add a repeating sound clip of the low health tone from Pokemon. If you fade it in from (3:20) or so and increase the volume up until (3:54), that would add some intensity . (It would also remind gamers of how many times the Elite Four ripped them off in Ruby and Sapphire .) Hopefully, this has helped you in some way, I definitely want to see how this mix gets better!
  19. This song is nice. Very relaxing. That being said, it needs a few tweeks and changes. For one thing the sound of the flute is very high at points, perhaps a hi cut in the mixer will fix this? The other thing which would make this nicer would be a more full sound, adding instruments which play in a low to mid range (E.G. a bass.). Also, it might produce a neat effect to add some reverb and some ambient instruments, but I am not quite sure how that would come out (It would be interesting to try though). So over all, I think this song is very nice and with a little work it can become even better.
  20. This song is really good! It has a very mystical feel to it (no wonder, the remixer's name is Dj Mystix) and is very relaxing. I'm really glad you revisited this song again because this is really great! Good job!
  21. Ok, here is version 2.0. I have fixed some of the volume and mixing issues (not all of them) and the Drum Kit is now an 808/809 kit. I also retooled several of the synths so they are a bit smoother. I will get to the remainder of the sound issues later (probably, Monday or Tuesday). http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8934806/Shared%20Music/OCR%20submissions/Under%20the%20Lake%20V2.mp3 Edit: I listened to this song through the good speakers in the house and heard a lot of sound mixing and volume problems, so I will work on that.
  22. Thanks for the comments, I will see what I can do with all this advice in the next version. So should I go for a guitar which is more synth-like rather than one which tries to sound realistic and fails miserably? Or should I can the guitar all together and change the instrument to another synth? Once again, thanks for the help with this.
  23. Hey there everyone! This is my first serious attempt at a submittable remix. I have been doing original music for 6 - 8 months and am looking for constructive criticism/ comments. This is a remix of the 'Lake Hylia' theme from the Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. So, without further ado, here is the remix titled 'Under the Lake'. Enjoy. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8934806/Shared%20Music/OCR%20submissions/Under%20the%20Lake.mp3
