Soundin' great guys. Can't wait to hear the final result.
Man, OCR just doesn't disappoint.
-
Yeah. That's one of the best ones.
Also, Chuck Dietz who is an incredible guitarist and has done a track for the Maverick Rising project may be taking a track or two.
The guy is a boss and I really hope things work out.
-
Makes sense. But if people would prefer that system they'd do it instinctively.
I'll add links. But only because I'm a nice person.
-
I actually haven't a clue what they're for. I don't use them.
Enlighten me and I'll think about it.
-
Just edited the first post to have the entirety of the BOF II OST. For ease of browsing.
With links of course.
If you want me to add to the first post that you're open to collaboration I can.
Just tell me and I'll get right on it.
-
I just listened to the latest version.
The way I see it, I might be missing some of the ideas behind it.
I feel like the chords in the back detract from the melody sometimes.
You could try going back to the source chords and bass for some of it.
Also, the part that kicks in at 2:10 is great.
I feel like it should enter the main part again a bit more dramatically.
And the lead synth there is cool... but there's a wee bit too much tremolo.
It's cool when used sparingly. Maybe make some of those notes un-tremolo'd to add effect to when it IS done.
Maybe I'm missing the idea of this remix. But that's my two cents.
Hope this helps.

Checked out Rockos stuff.
Frackin' hell it's good. And I'm not even a fan of Dubstep.
He's got my approval. (Heh. Like I have authority)
Just waiting on a few people to select tracks at this point. Not just Rockos.
A few people lined up look pretty darn good.
I'll edit the BOF 2 OST to all be there.
It doesn't mean every track needs to be filled. It just means that navigating the OST is easier.
-
Send me a PM and we'll talk it over.
It'll depend on a few things. Whatever you can show me to prove you've got the touch is a must.
-
As for the title. I'm keeping it open until later on in the project. Open for suggestions.
The music is the important part.
The reason that the entirety of the BOF 1 OST is available is because I spent an hour or so yesterday adding links to the tracks.
I haven't gotten around to BOF 2, I'll do that tonight probably.
I have been inviting people. A few have come back saying they want to take tracks if not now, then later.
In fact, I just got Chernabogue on Battle 2 of Breath of Fire 1. Looking forward to that.
It's a GREAT source. I'm kinda bummed that I can't do it. Haha
I'm ready to put in the time. Otherwise I'd just spend it all on Facebook and waste it.
Thanks for the good wishes man. I'm hoping this can go strong.
I've been advertising in several places.
And Brandon. No hard feelings about keeping the BOF 2 Soundtrack.
-
Just updated the first post for the entirety of the Breath of Fire I Soundtrack.
Links and all.
Now you guys can make all the choices about your tracks from the comfort of this thread.

http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=37646
This is a thread recruiting for a Breath of Fire project.
Perhaps it will be done here. Here's hoping.
If you could spread word to other places interested in remixing it that this is open, that would be greatly appreciated.
-
I'll await confirmation with Electro with if he's happy just givin' up the BOF 2 soundtrack.
I personally would like to keep the BOF 2 soundtrack, I think it's way too good.
But yeah, just letting you know that if your claim vanishes... it's not because of no WIP.
I'm not interested in WIP dates yet. Just gettin' tracks filled.
Once a few tracks are taken, THEN I'll probably issue a date. I dunno.
Also, if anyone needs collab work, I'm down for it.
If you guys are interested in collabs just tell me and I'll add it to the first post.
-
I was the one chosen to run it.
Electrolisystem here is just a bit too helpful.
I mean... we could try kicking off the BOF 2 stuff...
but both Electrolisystem and I have put in quite a bit of effort. For both our tracks.
Both of which are in a good WIP phase... we could.
But I'd really have to talk to Gario and Electro (Screw typing the whole name. Haha)
Gotta get their opinions and such too.
-
Well, of course there's the quality issue.
I'm happy to meet that, and meet it well.
I'd be glad to have you on board. I'll put you down for the Overworld One of BOF 1.
I don't need WIPs or anything soon. And plus, you're a posted mixer.
I trust you can do something well with good time management. (Wily Remix Gauntlet proves this)
We already have three tracks taken for the second game though. So I'm not sure.
The original head of the project actually took it down from five games, which I thought was too much.
This is at least a little bearable.
And it would be unfair to kick them off if they've already put work into their track.
Of course this is all opinion. I think it's important to voice all opinions, get the general best choice.
-
Yeah. Man, can I ask that Double Posting is kept to a minimum here please?
I'm gonna have to use this page to really try and get people on board.
I don't want them to be scared off. (No offense)
I'm gonna do my part and try and recruit some people.
You're welcome to spread the word.

Breath of Fire I&II Album Project (Recruiting)
Hey guys and gals! I'm not sure if you have ever heard or played Breath of Fire. It's Capcom's most successful traditional rpg to date but doesn't mean it's extremely well known. For me, the Breath of Fire series was my break into the rpg genre and still is one of my favorites, due to nostalgia and also to how unique it is. What I am aiming to do is to bring to light the wonderful themes that are present throughout the series. There are some unpolished masterpieces in each installment waiting to be heard to it's fullest potential!
I have taken the lead role of this project because Shinny Metal was unable to due to some unforeseen circumstances.
To start off I want to cover the first 2 games of the series. Before I was trying to take on every game and was struggling to find only a handful of tracks from each game because they all are really good. Thanks go to Xenon Odyssey and Dj Mokram for getting me a bit for focused. If this project gets a lot of attention and goes through to OCR then I can start to focus on Breath of Fire III-IV
Genre/style
I really want to see how people will interpret each theme and watch it transform so I don't want to make a general style. I'm greatly interested in hearing how this album could flesh out.
Though I would love this to be story based, and the tracks with italics are important tracks that I believe are beneficial to the story. Of course, if you have a varying opinion I would love to hear it.
Next to them are ideas for remixing style, of course that's also up for deviation.
Tracks
I grabbed all my favorites from each game and threw them in a list! Just because they are my favorite doesn't mean they are your favorite so you can always talk to me about songs you'd like to have included and songs that end up gaining no interest will be considered for being removed. Here's what I have come up with and of course...youtube links!

If you wish to join, just send me or Bahamut a PM and we'll tee something up. Most probably, if you're not a posted mixer you'll have to send some form of WIP or Track to showcase your ability for this project.
Can't wait to get this all under control.

Maybe wait for a bit. This is just recruitment after all.
Besides, let's just wait for this thread to lock down so we can start up a new one.
We've gotta clean the slate before we start to dirty it again.
-
I'm all for the locking this thread down and starting anew.
If Darkesword or some other mod could do it I would love you forever.
And there would be hugs.
Lots of hugs.
I'll accept the leadership responsibility. It's fine Shinny.
If there comes a time when you can put time back into this, then heck, that's awesome.
I'll start learning the ropes. Anything to procrastinate studying for my Chemistry Exam. Heh
-
Glad you understand.
Of course if he's not up for managing it anymore.
Maybe he'll still be interested in his Alan an Cerl track.
-
That's true. We need to really talk to him.
If he's not interested in continuing... I'll relinquish his leadership and take over.
And then I'll be one step closer to world domination.
-
What we might have to look into, is someone taking on the project as a head.
At least until Shinny gets back.
I'll volunteer. I have my holidays coming up soon. So I can invest a bit of time into this.
-
Chuck's work is amazing. He's a solid guitarist.
If you really like his playing, check out his bands.
At least check out Circle 7 which is my favourite of his bands.
-
I must say, I saw that months ago.
He's doing tutorial videos for it as well.
I hope he sticks around and does more stuff for OCR. I'm a huge fan of his.
Totally hyped. Can't wait for the release.
-
I must say, there's only one thing that stops this from being insanely awesome...
The fact that it would just be a solo the whole way through.
The way I see it, the arrangement behind the solo should shine as well.
Therefore, let's say that every track done is approximately 5 minutes long.
You would want 3 minutes of that to be solo.
Solos aren't interesting If that's all you hear. Sorry, but that's the way I see it.
Hope this helps.
It's time for some Touhou, OCR! How about Necrofantasia?
in ReMix Requests
Posted
I definitely agree. The lack of Touhou is disturbing.
But you can find many great Touhou Doujin Cover Circles in the Japan vicinity.
I know some great ones that do Necrofantasia well. (A personal favourite of mine as well, too bad I suck at the level. Haha)
Crow's Claw and Demetori have some pretty good metal covers. Guitar work you wont find on OCR too.
Japanese guitarists are just freakin' insane.
If you don't listen to any Touhou bands, I would recommend Shibayan Records, Alstromeria Records, Crow's Claw and Unlucky Morpheus. Maybe even Sound Holic.
Just go out there and find them, it's incredible how big a scene it is for such an obscure game.
