Wow, kinda psyched about the response to our piece!! Even Ben liked it, through all of his white-boy-dance-music-addiction (seriously, that dude got down to DJCutman at MAG, shame you all couldn't watch in *stunned* silence as I did). Lots of great work to be proud of this round, knucks all around, especially to my super handsome teammates, Supe and Rozo. This comp has been a blast, and I've enjoyed observing myself and others improve immensely (as well as making a few new friends ). I'll try to post some reviews later, until then, keep it real d00dz Also, grats to everyone who 6-source'd up for this round (yeah, I'm talking to you Gario; maybe next time we meet in person, we'll have more interaction than an interview and you rolling your eyes and saying "oh, you're that guy..." ) pH

The way I wrote, it was taking different elements from each source and merging them; Needle Man bass with Crystal Man melody and Charge Man arpeggios, stuff like that. So mine feels really UNoriginal to me. I still like it a lot though

We got Charge Man, Needle Man, Crystal Man, Wily Machines 1 and 5, and some Wily Stage 2 from MM3. Yummmmm

Ah, Gastly cry! <3 I'm not really qualified to give critiques on the genre. Listen to Rockos, he's kinda the authority on dub around here as far as I know. Also, listen to zircon and BGC's dubstep tracks, "Ashes to Ashes" and "The Clubbing of Isaac," respectively. Pretty much the only dubstep I listen to

I hope ya'll dig pieces of music that modulate all over the place and are real difficult to analyze

Damn, someone beat me to the punch on Shaq Fu!! Dig it so far. The effects at :55 are a bit harsh, and mixed pretty loud. Nice genesis sounding Bass. Reminds me of the Genesis version of Pitfall (which has crap music compared to the SNES version, which has crap music compared to the Windows '95 version (which is one of my all-time favorite OSTs). And Shaq Fu is another one of those really good, highly underrated soundtracks in the same vein (again, SNES version is much better than the Genesis one, but there ARE more characters in the Genesis version and thus more themes to pick from). I'm sort of becoming an ethnic percussion junky, but I think a bit here would really add to the atmosphere, especially since it's a jungle-y level, if I remember right (waterfall, right?). Also, glitch effects on ethnic stuff is REAL fun (if you want to turn into good 'ol pH ) A marimba or xylophone would fit in really nicely too and add to the jungle vibe, and a big rumbly bass drum for some low end hit action. Obviously you're not done, so I'll leave it at that for now. Hope it helps! pH

I LOVED sword man's track. It's got that temple-y vibe that I love (but you all already know that). And it's fucking hard to analyze, like a few other MM8 tunes (*cough*SEARCHMAN*cough*) But then again I grew up on MM8, and it remains my favorite to this day. Next robot master comp I'm taking Saturn Tengu to the top
