  1. I've been laughing so hard I shit myself... one might say my pants are an "Embrowned Heap"
  2. Ecto, I don't understand your references to seizures and cold weather... Didn't you name your song "Epileptic Sleet"?
  3. Is this one of the robot masters to be in Mega Man 11?
  4. OK! Update. Same link. How's the bass and sound width? I might add some overdrive or distortion to it too to make it more interesting, cause it still sounds a little weird... but maybe not. As for the chordal section that was making people unhappy before, I changed it up, but the pad just gave it that warm feeling, so I couldn't get rid of it completely. I gated it to make it more texturally hawt though. And switched up what the bass was doing. But I might revisit that as well if people still don't like it I suppose ALSO I ADDED ANOTHER SAMPLE TO THE SNARE TO MAKE IT COOLER (it doesn't sound much different ), and also changed up a drum pattern for mare craxiness in the DnB-ish section. Throw anything you got at me! pH (And Matt, it's a bit late, but thanks for the bump at least ) EDIT: Ah, motherfucker, I also missed fixing the panning at the end... next time DOUBLE EDIT: Ninja update fixed quite a few things... just enjoy
  5. Speaking of... I got my hands on that AIM convo... *whispering* thanks Flex
  6. The problem has been thrice rectified, I apologize for my hasty frustrations. Also, that's the worst penis I've ever seen in my life.
  7. WTF U CAN'T GET OUTSIDE FEEDBACK BEFORE THE END OF THE ROUND, YOU CHEATING BUTTHOLE <3 you
  8. Haha, that's actually PrototypeRaptor, I'm not posted yet, but I've got one in the queue And yeah, that thing really kicks the ass. Check out some of his other stuff if you want more behind-beatings pH
  9. It's a little late for Silver Surfer lulz, but thank Norrinn Radd that being "Silver Surfer'd" didn't mean halc was eaten by Galactus... Even though I'm sure he possesses enough energy to satisfy Galactus's hunger... for a time
  10. Haha thanks, spazoid writing seems to be the direction my style is going And yeah, it's a different chord progression, and Gario mentioned in the compo that he didn't like it either. I'll take a look at it, although I like making the chords a bit different from the source. BUT, if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Thanks for all the crits, I'll put em into action here pretty soon pH
  11. .....?! If I guesses yes, then... WHAT??? CAN ANYONE FINISH A DAMN SENTENCE AROUND HERE?! Jesus, sometimes you guys really piss me-
  12. ...wut? The dub that almost wasn't is going to go cut itself now
  13. If that's all you took away from my spiel... you're more astute than I thought
  14. Hey thanks man, that means a lot! And I was really doing it for the experience rather than the exposure; I know I have a lot to improve on, and if music is what I want to do with my life (and it is) then I want all the experience I can. Plus, these things are really fun, and push the competitors for a lot of different reasons. The exposure is nice, for sure, but it's the experience in general and the opportunity to build connections with some great musicians that attracted me. Plus, I'll be getting plenty of exposure when I get posted, since the J's accepted my first sub with FL yesterday So, competitions = fun, yay!
  15. Agreed... voting seems very much secondary to seasoning mixers. The winner(s) doesn't (don't) get anything but bragging rights anyway, so why should the way the competition is run get in the way of the experience gained by the participants? I know Darke said to leave it alone, and he's probably tired of hearing it, but if my input's worth anything, I'm all for the compo as-is. I probably wouldn't've joined if I thought it was going to be all WillRocks, halcs and Rozos. And I've churned out two mixes so far that I'm very proud of (even thought they've fared pretty poorly on the voting side of things), so I'm glad to be able to take part. /2 cents
  16. The pops before the piano comes in really bug my ears and make me cringe. Great groove going on when things get going, and the interpretation on the theme is cool, even though it's just one note for a while, it engages my brain because it's different. The first time that one altered note played I was like "whoa, wut!?" and then the second time it settled, but I was still really listening for it, which is a great sign of a captivating piece. Toward the last third or so when you've got the guitar playing, the pads kind of block it out; I'd recommend bringing the guitar forward and pushing the pads back a bit. Or maybe gating the pads instead of an awkward volume reduction so the guitar cuts through a bit more. Still bring the guitar out more though. Here's the biggie: personally, I'd bring the sax back for some of the tunnel theme to give the instrumentation a bit of a change up. Even though you've got the piano doing all kinds of great interpretation, the arrangement gets a bit stagnant because the piano's trying to carry the piece too much, which is a bad thing unless you're doing a piano solo arrangement. The sax could give you that same expressive element, but keep people engaged; it could actually be really cool, I'm hearing quite a few possibilities in my head (for instance, right after the Phendrana sax break in the middle, have the piano play like it does with the sax doing some screaming lead work and interp on the tunnel theme). Also, I'd recommend some live recording for the sax, sounds like MIDI right now, correct? Hope all this is helpful pH
  17. Those are some fearsome "Yuggugugugugg-Yyyuuuuuggggg"s I'm kind of warming up to the genre, and I found this enjoyable, to say the least. Looking forward to whatever the hell you're cooking up for the WCRG next
  18. Good idea... I swear I did, box has been trolling me pretty hard lately CLICK HERE Yar, there it is. OP updated
  19. Alright, so I broke down and posted a mix here with the rest of the WCRG participants. I've already made up my mind to submit my other mix from the WCRG, AND I DON'T NEED NO HALP WID IT! Actually I just wanna see if I'm a big boy and can do these things without a bunch of help But, this one wasn't quite up to the same standard as PT&AnB (for those of you who've heard it, you're also familiar with how alsdfioxcnvoiunewiaunsding annoying it is to type). The idea behind this one was to keep the upbeat feeling of Charge Man without making the transitions between the major/minor sources too apparent, as well as keeping the interpretation at a reasonable level throughout the piece. So let me know how I did, what's good/sucks/needs to be changed and whatever else you got Charge Man's my boy, and he needs some OCR love Thanks in advance! pH Edit: Oh, and I already know the automated panning is pretty weird and bothersome, and I plan on fixing it when I get around to working on the mix. But I got some originals that need some lovin' first
  20. I had to do a project for class where I make all the synths myself, and where I also use Reason as a whore (slave) for Logic. Still haven't done the second part, but I put this together in FL in about an hour and a half, and it's kinda grown on me, so I thought I'd go ahead and share it with ya'll. Obviously just used a bunch of triple oscillators, still experimenting with getting that "chippy" sound (hence the title, haha (also a Tim & Eric reference, for those of you in the know)). Also, the LFO on the pad is very obviously NOT chippy, but I felt like it fit pretty well. And, since this is a school project, and we're not *expected* to know a bunch about sound production, I'm using that as an excuse to be lazy with the mixing... Although I think it's worth mentioning that it sounded good in FL, and box is kind of just screwing with me. BUT ENOUGH USELESS EXPLANATIONS/EXCUSES Link Enjoy pH
