  1. Anyone know where I could get a VST that can dish out some really awesome pads? For the longest I've been using Sylenth1 for my pads, and I once tried Massive but my computer can't handle it anymore for absolutely no reason, but even it has it's limits so I need a VST that can make some absolutely beautiful pads great for Chillout and Trip-Hop. IMPORTANT: I'm on a budget and can only pay from Free to 0.00
  2. Daedelus I'd give you his soundcloud but he's been taking on a more calming, romantic style these days, the best I could say is do some searching on this guy's works as most of them are Aphex Twin-ish, weird, and hyperactive (but they're all lighthearted) Chris Clark His sound is more focused than Daedlus but his works can go on to a sort of hyperactive sound, however he has the darkness you might be looking for (especially Growl's Garden). His more hyperactive works are Rainbow Voodoo and the entire Iradelphic album, but I chose to showcase Future Daniel because I think the breakdown might be more of what you're looking for. that's all the hyperactive IDM I could give you, do some searching and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.
  3. Ironically, when I came home, I did all the things you listed (besides the panning which I spent another hour and a half on). Plus I spent yesterday and a little bit of today sweetening the mix and even took some risks with software I just downloaded that day and had no idea what I was doing, though it did come out nicely . Anyway here's the final version of this mix mainly because I've spent more time on this song than I had anticipated and have had no time to play Metroid Prime, and I have really really really been wanting to spend some time doing that. So enjoy or something http://tindeck.com/listen/osvw
  4. I used Triangle waves mixed with Sine for the pads, however it does sound kind of saw like, and the piano was a vst I got and added some reverb to, it's actually pretty sucky and the preset from live was better but still not good enough. All the other instruments are from me screwing with Sylenth1. Thank you so much for the advice and please if you know somewhere I could get a good sounding piano vst I would be very greatful.
  5. Oh crap I forgot the song Remix: http://tindeck.com/listen/vfjk Source: Sorries
  6. To be honest I wanted this song to be trip-hop but instead I got chillout and just rolled with it. Now that that's out of the way, I was listening to OCR Radio and felt like doing something so I did, got any tips, feedback, wanna throw a brick at me? go a head!
  7. https://soundcloud.com/puffals Mine's filled with new and old songs so the quality of the songs will decrease as you go through the pages enjoy or something.
  8. My lawd man, my ears haven't experienced this kind of joy since I first heard Theophany's Clocktown remix. I haven't even played the game and now all I want to do is sprint to Play n' Trade and throw piles of money at them. To be honest there isn't a word to describe how much I love this song, so "I glepsor this song!"
  9. I just started Digital Sound Design, I might get to Music Production, schedule permitting (in other words: yeah I'll be there)
  10. Alright, I added a few things here and there, added some sugar to every track individually, dry humped the piano (see what I did there?), and even added a little solo and some dancing sine waves to compliment to that solo. Tried some panning action, but I think it didn't take (either that or my headphones just refuses to do it) and lastly I added some more layers and bass to liven things up, also a few effects to add some spice. 11. Thank you all for the feedback and advice, I didn't even know about the synth having problems, I guess my speakers couldn't pick it up --'. I'll do my best to fix these problems and return with an updated/better version.
  12. Heyo, So this be a mix I'm working on for Forest Interlude(betcha can't guess the game it's from) and for this mix I tried some Ambient Trance like thing that would shift into a full on party mix, the party part is still in production but the ambiance is there for review. source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0Mp8uMammw remix: http://tindeck.com/listen/lmvt
  13. Rayman Orgins I was a fan of Rayman but after awhile of the Rabbids he basicly became Sonic to me, so I was really iffy when my bud rented it and popped it in his Wii. after some time, only had 4 out of the nine teeth and the chasing levels made our thumbs bleed but I was sold.
  14. Needs a little more tension in the atmosphere Other than that you're on the right track, I really like the DnB stylized drums and the slightly garbled saw synth is a nice touch the bass pad is nice and smooth though the bells could use a bit of a touch up. In short, nice job mate and can't wait to hear the final version.
