  1. You should name it Sabinuano. Sabin + guano ??? Listen to more Pat Metheny. NOW.
  2. "Will make radio bumper for food or airplay..." Sweet! Some Ben Folds style. This is tight. Did you sample a track or do something yourself? Man, I wish I did that myself. That was just a clip from the end of "Uncle Walter" by Ben Folds Five, my favorite track off their self-titled album (if you haven't heard that album yet, GET IT. NOW.) How about you play Anthem? I've been thinking of re-titling it to "Sabin Departs the Realm," in case you were still wondering if I'd ever get around to changing the name. Oh yeah, and I have a cross country meet up in Fresno on Saturday, so I don't know if I'll be back in time for the broadcast. Yo. I still have never heard him live.
  3. Well Larry, I FINALLY broke down and made you a bumper. THERE. Now play some of my music next week or something. Yay. http://pixelated.myrmid.com/users/jigginjont/bumper.mp3 It's kinda amateurish, but oh well...
  4. Beautiful. This is head and tails above ANY sequenced piano piece I've heard to date, in terms of humanization. Great arrangement as well. Wow, my hat's off to you. -Jon
  5. This is the mix i've been waiting for. My hat's off to you guys. I'm gonna have to disagree with analoq's use of restraint and say to the "OCR masses": if you can't appreciate this track, then your musical taste is lacking. Not bad, just lacking. If you feel like you don't understand the appeal of this ReMix, then you need to be listening to a wider variety of music. If you wanna get turned on to jazz, go out and buy (or download if you have to) Kind of Blue by Miles Davis. In addition to that, check out Dave Brubeck, Joshua Redman, Chet Baker, Bill Evans, Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, and Chick Corea, just to name a few. All I have left to say is, Neskvartetten, if you do another jazz piece for this site, I'll be eternally gratefull. Nice Work. -JTT
  6. Larry.....you're dead. If anyone chooses to go to the website that Larry listed after my name, just be warned that you're going to hit an archive of old MIDIs that I made before I was good, or had even HEARD of OCR (i.e. none of my new stuff is there). So yeah, thanks Mr. Oji. I think I might take a little trip down to Georgia so I can pat you on the head with a sock full of quarters.
  7. K, I just finished scanning through and listening to segments of the show. Man......all I can say is that I have every reason to believe that obscene amounts of alcohol were involved in the production process, on all ends. If you scan through the archived show randomly, it's more than likely that you'll pick up right in the middle of either Larry yelling something, or some psycho drunk chick doing what psycho drunk chicks do. So, in other words, it's fantas-great. If you haven't already, check it out. You might even hear some video game music if you listen long enough. -Jon
  8. I've had v3 of this on my playlist for a couple months now. I loved it when it was on the WIP forum, and I love it now. -Jon
  9. lol. i have ONE remix on this site, and it ends up on the show. thanks, i guess.
  10. Very nice indeed. I can definetly hear the Metheny influence in the playing and the arrangement. The quasi-latin feel that starts up around 1:15 is just beautiful. I only wish I was a little more familiar with the source material. I really dig extended improv stuff, so this was right up my alley. Keep up the good work. -Jon
  11. Thanx for the feedback guys For those of you who brought up panning issues: I'm still a bit of a newb when it comes to mixing, so when I first submitted this mix, everything was panned down the center (i forgot to take that into account). It got rejected (Disco Dan gave me a resounding "meh.") When I overhauled the mix, i guess i overcompensated slightly, and panned everything too far over. Oh well, i'm learning
