  1. Hey all! Just an short original track I wrote for a friend. Don't really know what he wants it for, but I did my best. I kinda was going for a despiration feel. Tell me what you think, and if I could do anything better! https://soundcloud.com/touchsoundmusic-1/event-horizonnever-go-back
  2. Hello all! I'm happy to announce that I will be taking over the production of this album, with the permission of Tuberz! Now, I won't do everything from scratch, I'm going to pick up where he left off. If you have supplied a WAV to Tuberz, please email/pm them to me. As of now, this album is completely revived. There won't be a deadline, for now. Hopefully, we can pull this out of the ground!
  3. I think that the arrangement is very good, and stylistically is much better. I don't have much against it, or critique to give. However, the recording is a different story. It is much better, but it is quiet and left panned. Just center it, and be expressive with your performance. Add some contrast, and it will improve a TON. Either way, looking for the next addition.
  4. This entire thing just need a little more flesh to it. I don't know why, but I would like it to, I don't know, be louder, have more oomph. Also, it kinda just leads off in the end. A more concise, and defined, ending would make it a lot better.
  5. This is amazing! I love the Rainbow Roads, and I feel like you have symbolized them perfectly, as well as the mood of the tracks themselves. There's not much critique I can give (given my lack of experience and personal opinion), you've done a great job! Your other mixes were pretty awesome as well. I love "Forever Dreaming" "March Against The Three Flames"...needless to say, I am a fan of you. Now, correcting myself above, I do have one critique- Why haven't you submitted to OCR?! I would heavily encourage you to submit this, or any other of your mixes!
  6. You know, this sounds really good! I only have a few complaints. 1. The recording quality leaves much to be desired. This medley/ReMix would improve so much if you could get a solid sound, removing the static that is present throughout most of the climax. 2. Transition better between style. I love the stylistic choices you have for each source, but smoothing the shifts would make it amazing! Overall, this actually doesn't seem like a medley. I'm no judge, or mod for that matter, but with a little work this could be submission worthy!
  7. On October 8th, 2015, it will be 30 years since the US release of the Nintendo Entertainment System. Compared to the time period, it was a remarkable success, as it seemed to ignore the video game crash of 1983. This is why the proposed name of this album is igNoring thE craSh. Recruitment To become a ReMixer, just PM me, or post on the thread, the game and track you want to do. If you are not posted on OCR, please include a sample of your work or a link to you work in the thread/PM. We will get back to you as soon as possible. Now to the important part... Games -Little Nemo -Dr. Mario -Wario's Woods -Mega Man (1-6) -Metal Gear (1 & 2) -Crystalis -Maniac Mansion -Ninja Gaiden (1-3) -StarTropics (1 & 2) -Tetris -Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! -Metroid -Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1-3 + Tournament Fighters) -Kid Icarus -Battletoads + Battletoads & Double Dragon -Castlevania (1-3) -Contra (1 & 2) -Bubble Bobble (1-3) -Ducktales -Rad Racer -The Legend of Zelda (1-2) -Final Fantasy (1-3) -Super Mario Bros. (1-3) BOLDED names have claimed tracks, see below for more details. Claimed Tracks (This will grow as games are claimed.) -Megaman 3 - ** ~Sagnewshreds -Tetris - ** ~ Chernabogue -Metroid - Title Theme ~Trev -MegaMan III - Title ~Trev -Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters - Fight Music 4 ~Mak Eightman -Battletoads & Double Dragon - Missile Mayhem ~Sbeast -Contra - Waterfall ~jorito -Bubble Bobble - *Undefined/No Specific Track* ~YamaYama/milothefultz -Super Mario Bros. 3 - Athletic Theme ~Mak Eightman Red has a starting WIP. Blue has a substantial WIP. Green is in final stage of production. Orange is finished. Themes The above list is the games that will be targeted for this album. We will want at least 1 track per game, prospectively including sequels. That will be at least 23 tracks on this album. We want this album to have a sense of evolution, changing styles from 8-bit to fully orchestrated. After all, this is celebrating not only the NES's 30th anniversary, but 30 years of a genre that should have disappeared; instead it grew and evolved, changing the face of the world forever. Added to this, we want the first, most 8-bit track to be from 10 Yard Fight, as this is(?) the first NES game, and the last orchestra track from Wario's Woods, as it is the last NES game. Also, a last request. If you plan on joining, please try not to choose the obvious tracks from each of the games listed (Zelda's theme, Mario's overworld). Thanks. Current Staff Director: touchstone. Assistant Director: BorgMan. Website Designer: Needed. Album Artist: The Coop. Submission Once you have finished your ReMix of your claimed track, send it in an MP3 file format to me at jamesmleinonen@gmail.com, or PM it to BorgMan. We will judge it, and we email you back with either acceptance, or some final criticism on how to make it better. If you are sending a WIP, please PM it to me or BorgMan, and you should receive some general critique. I'll say it now, so I don't have to do it later. Welcome to the project! Welcome to igNoring thE craSh! EDIT: I've taken in input from the thread, and from my co, BorgMan, and redone this post.
  8. Hey guys! I've got a cool idea for a competition, but I want to make sure people are willing to join it first. It's called Ultimate 8, which is short for Ultimate 8-Bit Remix. As you can probably guess, this competition is focused on the 8-bit era of vgm. Essentially, you just email to join, and you'll recieve an email with a game, track, and a restriction, if needed. I'll set a date for remixes to be in, and then they'll go up for voting. After another period of time, a few remixes will be eliminated. The process repeats, and in the end, the most voted remix becomes the "Ultimate 8." Please give feedback, and if enough support is shown, I'll start up Ultimate 8, Round 1 soon. (Need more information? Email me here: ultimate8bitremix@gmail.com)
  9. I actually don't use a DAW, unless you count MuseScore as a DAW. In reality, I am completely in the dark about the finer points of remixing. But, if you could recommend a DAW, that would be great! I'll see what I can do with MuseScore, and I should have a new version up soon. (BTW-I might not be able to do a live recording, so any help making this more houan is definetly welcome.) Hey, here it is, updated, now called Storm Bosses. 10. Hey guys! I know...I already have a WIP ReMix, but I'm not going to finish it (so go ahead and delete it). This one, however, is for REAL. It's a jazz ReMix, but I'm also going to have it be a live recording, of a jazz combo of the same name. So anyways, to the links! https://soundcloud.com/touchsoundmusic-1/possible-remix-bosses-of-nova The two songs I'm using are "New Wave Bossa Nova"(Majora's Mask) and "Song of Storms."(Ocarina of Time) Please, I'm an amateur, so any critique is helpful!
  11. Hey guys, this is my work in progress ReMix called Elegy of Kings. It is still very beta, and instrumentation is bound to change. Currently it's 2 pianos and a pan flute. Any and all comments would be helpful! Sources: (Farewell Hyrule King) (Midna's Theme) Elegy of Kings: https://soundcloud.com/touchsoundmusic-1/elegy-of-kings-updated-wip Enjoy!
