  1. Yay! It was a good attempt, but I'm glad for DusK. It was an awesome mix.
  2. I have returned! Just a small thing I thought up over the course of a week. Any and all critique is welcome, especially dealing with mastering. Remix: https://soundcloud.com/touchsoundmusic-1/remorse-of-the-past
  3. Sorry, I've talked to BorgMan about this. As this is an NES tribute album, we cannot accept remixes that were not from at least released on NES game. So, no Mother. Perhaps another opportunity will come up for that.
  4. Surprise! No, I'm not dead, and neither is BorgMan! In fact, now that things have settled down, we're pushing forwards faster than before. We've talked about it, and we have an end-all deadline. After this, no more ReMixes will be accepted (to allow for various finishing touches as a whole, as well as passing approval). The FINAL DEADLINE is JUNE 1st. I'll be notifying all those on the list currently as well, by PM. We are still recruiting too! All, and any are welcome, under the conditions stated in the first post. We have about 8 months until this due date.
  5. Oh heck yes! I hopefully won't get side tracked this time... evil remix plot forming...
  6. Dang my procrastination! I really wanted to put something in this round, but I put it off for too long . Oh well. knowing the quality of work in this, I had no chance anyways. Still, I would have liked to try. Good luck to you all!
  7. I guess I didn't explain that aspect clearly. In fact, that's what I really intended. I just wanted to put that up, so people could be aware that this album is intended to try cover most genres of music. We want people to do what they feel is the best for their track, and then we'll work on how they'll be arranged within the album. My fear was that we'd get a lot of one style, and none of the others. But, by no means was that to restrict what tracks got what styles. If that is what came across, I apologize. Do what you feel comfortable with, and BorgMan and I will worry about the rest.
  8. Hey, all of those are fine, but something from FFII or III would be preferable (they only have 1 and 2 Mixes, respectively). However, if you feel you could pull off a good mix out of MG or BB, go right ahead!
  9. I agree with everyone about igNoring thE craSh, and have updated the first post to take this into account. We will try for at least 23 tracks, and aim for the "Lost Pearls", as BorgMan said, of the games' music. Again, anyone can audition, just send a PM with your claimed game, track, and if not a posted ReMixer, a link to your work. With only a year, we'll have to push to get this out. So, please, come and claim tracks!
  10. Thank you, first and foremost. I love the music in both Transistor and Bastion, and to see someone attempting a ReMix of "We All Become" is amazing. Now, onto the critique. I agree that more needs to be done with the source, when it is prevalent. I would suggest somehow tying or hinting at the non-source styles, within the source. If that makes any sense at all. Another big thing is the aprox. 30 seconds of silence before we hear Transistor say "Hey Red, we're not gonna get away with this." I don't know what the intention of this "white space." If it was just something that you haven't worked on yet, ignore the next comment. If it wasn't, I would recommend adding something to carry the song to those last words. Other then that, I love your version!
  11. Hello! Could someone change Breath of Fire I&II Project to Breath of Fire I project, change director to me (touchstone), and set the status to "Deadline: Half WIPs 08/18"and "recruiting" Thanks!
  12. You might have noticed a new part to this thread's title, and no, you aren't hallucinating. I've been debating whether or not to make deadlines this early, but I figure that that's the best way to get this thing moving again. (And it prevents my biggest enemy from arriving-Procrastination ) So, the deadline for half of the WIP tracks to be turned in is August 18th. On the original post is a tentative time line, placing the release at a year minus 2 days from today. Remember, I'm new at judging time, so please tell me if this is unrealistic. All the people who have claimed a track will also be receiving a PM from me. Let's get it started!
  13. Not much to say, just an idea I fleshed out. I feel like it's done, but I don't know if it's ready for submission. Anything is helpful. ReMix: https://soundcloud.com/touchsoundmusic-1/he-who-turns-his-back-on-god-bloody-tears Source:
  14. Thanks for volunteering! I'll put you down. If you have any questions relating to the specifics (i.e. genre acceptability) just PM me. I won't focus completely on the BoF album, but you'll have a good amount of say for igNoring thE craSh. I still want this out by next year, so we'll have to get a move on! There's only aprox. 1 year, 2 months, and 1 day before the deadline.
  15. Hey, I'm up for any style, as long as it can meet OCR's standards! I'd love to see what you could pull off.
  16. G-Mixer's right. I do intend to do this project, I just need to decide which of the two projects (BoF or ItC) I should do first. If you're willing to work on a ReMix, that's fine, and I will be accepting anything. By the "back burner" I meant that this is still going on, and the deadline remains the same, I won't be perusing this one as much. I'm not opposed to having a assistant director to help out, and one to make sure this project is getting done. If you still want to pull your claim nckmusic, I completely understand. Anyways, public poll: Breath of Fire or igNoring thE craSH? Which ever one isn't chosen will have an indefinite working period, and no set release date (ItC will still be a 30 year anniversary album). I apologize for any inconveniences/misunderstandings this may have caused.
  17. Yeah, I realize two album projects is pretty ambitious, and I would like to clarify some things. This was my first post for an album, and after a week of nothing, I kind of left it alone, making it pretty much dead. So, I looked around for someyhing I could join, and I found the BoF album, and took it on. I currently focus on the BoF album, as this one is already in the works. However, if this one gets enough support, I may focus more on this. I did not think that this would have any intrest, so I was shocked by nckmusic. This album is still alive, but on the back burner. Hope this cleared things up. Also, thanks Borgman for the album art!
  18. Sure thing! I'll put you down! Also, despite being what I'd consider a "fluent" gamer, I've never played much of any Final Fantasy game. That's why there's only one track.
  19. Ha. I've taken some more steps to getting this thing back up and running. I just hope my messages don't get lost within all the mail some of these people might get.
  20. Yes, I've been active on the forums lately, but that's besides the point. I've decided to put the other two ReMixes on infinite hiatus, just until I feel more adept at those two pieces. (Translation: They're really difficult to get right.) Anyways, here's a pure piano ReMix of "Build That Wall" from Bastion. I tried to get a more waltz style out of this mix, and except for 2 times where the time signature changes to 4/4, it is in a compound meter. I tried a few different techniques with this one, which is mainly mastering. Anyways, enough blathering, here's the link! Build Waltz: https://soundcloud.com/touchsoundmusic-1/building-waltz
  21. And here it is! http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?p=969383#post969383
  22. I've taken the advice given, and I'm starting up a new thread for this project. DEADLINES Half WIPs Turned in: August 18th All WIPs Turned in: October 20th All WIPs Substantial: December 18th Half Finished: Febuary 11th All Finished: May 25th RELEASE: July 15th Genre/style I really want to see how people will interpret each theme and watch it transform so I don't want to make a general style. I'm greatly interested in hearing how this album could flesh out. Though I would love this to be story based, and the tracks with italics are important tracks that I believe are beneficial to the story. Of course, if you have a varying opinion I would love to hear it. Here's where we currently stand: Breath of Fire I + ~ Anorax+ ~Sixto- ~Rockos- - + (Alan and Cerl) ~ShinnyMetal+ ~Amphibious+ ~Sixto-Beginning of Battle (Battle 1) ~Tuberz McGee - - (Boss Battle) ~DarkDjinn- ~jnWake- - - - (Overworld 2)- - + ~Sixto- - + (Battle 2)~Chernabogue- (DON'T LAUGH)+ (Overworld 1) ~Brandon Strader- (Overworld 3)- + ~Guifrog- - - - - - + (Final Battle) ~DusK- - - (Really open for debate. It just needs to sound like the closing to a chapter. Preparing for the beginning of something new.)- ~Wiesty- ~WiestyBreath of Fire 1 Chiptune File Red Colour (Color if you're American) - Claimed Tracks (12) Blue Colour - Claimed Tracks With WIPs Supplied (1) Green Colour - Claimed Tracks with substantial WIP supplied (1) Orange Colour - Finished Tracks (WAV's are Bold) (1) Total Tracks Taken: 15 Goal: 15 Left: 0 Tracks can still be claimed, I just need 15 for the finished product.
  23. Sure thing! Just make sure you eventually tell me which one you are claiming. The more the merrier!
  24. Looking back at the track list again, I completely agree. As much as I hate to drop claimed tracks, two games would be extremely difficult. So, as of now, this album will consist of Breath of Fire 1. Just so we don't have to go back to the first post again, I'll repost that part here. Breath of Fire I + ~ Anorax + ~Sixto- - - + (Alan and Cerl) ~ShinnyMetal+ ~Amphibious+ ~Sixto-Beginning of Battle (Battle 1) ~Tuberz McGee - - (Boss Battle)- ~jnWake- - - - (Overworld 2)- - + ~Sixto- - + (Battle 2)~Chernabogue- (DON'T LAUGH)+ (Overworld 1) ~Brandon Strader- (Overworld 3)- + ~Guifrog- - - - - - + (Final Battle) ~DusK- - - (Really open for debate. If needed, I'll repost this as a new thread. Also, Album titles, any one? If I can get one, expect to see a new thread.
