So that's why you were never able to record my podcast. Can't say I'm surprised about the deception though.
-
here's my first wip:
http://www.superjoesoftware.com/temp...nt-march_3.mp3
feedback appreciated.
That may possibly be the best WIP I have ever heard in my life, and is definitely going to be one of the highlights of this album.
Just a quick note to all project members... try to keep WIPs just between the project members, and if you do share them with others, try to do it through PM and not publicly. Thanks!
-
Well you can hear the songs when the album is released just like everyone else, and then make up your mind about the quality. I don't see where I'm running my project any differently than any of the other new projects. I have deadlines and people are working hard to respect them. Artwork and the website is already planned and won't be an issue. I don't know what else you, and your cloaked gathering of leaders, is expecting, but we're not cutting any corners over here.
-
Your advice was to not start the project and you've been upset about it ever since. Why does it bother you so much?
-
Not meant as a slight, but you haven't handled things in a way where it will likely pass the quality barometer. It is more of a prediction statement, but all indications from staff are that it doesn't and unless proven otherwise through proper management for a project to get posted on OCR, then I cannot in good faith just label it as such.
Also the secret project has big names involved, and there's no reason to believe that it won't pass the barometer with proven people on board. I will be revealing it at MAGFest likely.
I don't think it is your place to make assumptions. I think your list should be unbiased.
-
Heh, I noticed the project has a title now.
Did you notice there's 2 songs done now too?
-
How does "secret project" count as an OCR project and mine doesn't? I did read the guidelines and confirm the project's creation with zircon beforehand, and had recruited a couple people before I even made the thread.
-
Uhmm ... It's called two discs. it's 900MB (Almost 1Gb) because there's two discs. Two 450Mb discs. Weren't you in this project? Shouldn't you know this better than anyone else?
Anyways, props to all involved. Just finished listening to most of it, and, as usual, the OCRemix community DOES NOT disappoint
Hey. I forgot! I've been up until almost 6am every night so my brain isn't always in the right place. But still, I think 320kbps MP3s are just as good for listening purposes as huge, almost wav-quality flacs. You can't even put flacs on an mp3 player. I guess I just really don't like flac or see the point in it too much. They could have just put the WAV files in the torrent instead so people could burn CDs with the source files.
Well... Anyway, thanks to the people who liked my song! And I really think the whole thing turned out great. I was really impressed by everyone's work. It seems like there's so much more to grasp onto with this album than some of the previous albums... more active material, less passive. It's good.
-
I'd love to come to your house but I've been feeling a little bloated. I think I'll stick to the IRC for now.
-
Well if you want to get technical, a compact disc can't hold 1gig worth of information, so FLAC is much more than lossless -- they actually hold a butt-ton of useless file size. Even the 16bit wav files for a CD usually don't go over 600mb with all tracks included...
and Oinkness's has production issuesWay to single me out.

When I hit 16, my parents had me giving out the candy. Now I'm 22. That stuff is for kids.
-
That may possibly be the dumbest thing I have heard all day. Good luck with your Starcraft maps.
-
Honestly, you could probably get by at OCR with naught but a MIDI controller and a few good libraries, but think of the future. There'll probably come a time when you will want to record live instruments, so keep that in mind before you make your decision! As for MIDI Controllers, my M-Audio Keystation pro has 88 keys and is USB-powered, so it's pretty great. It's probably in the $300 range for it.
-
I am so sorry for your loss.
Hope you had a great wedding.
-
Wes is right. I won't go into the matter any further than that at the moment.
That being said, I received your file last this morning and will listen when I get the chance.
After hearing my song, is my talk less cheap? I'm just wondering. I mean to say after hearing it would you have considered letting me make the last open track. Purely out of my curiosity I am asking this, as we've talked about the track and you know how I feel about how confusing it would be to do.
-
How many times have you shot your deuce off of the map and died? Yeah... that's fun.
-
I will definitely be trying to listen in. Whether or not I will be wearing clothes is up in the air, though. Wait...you're debuting two tracks? Sweet.
Which tracks?
-
I probably would have rented Uncharted 2 if it was on the 360. Yeah, apparently Sony isn't learning anything from the Infamous / Prototype deal where Prototype outsold infamous more than double pretty much because it was multi-platform and infamous is just on the ps3. Oh well. They'll probably figure it out when its too late.
How far have you guys got with Brutal Legend so far? I finished the Lemmy main quest and did a couple sneak attack secondary quests.
I've only found like 4 songs and haven't figured out how to find stuff seriously yet.
-
It's been downloaded like 200 times and nobody says anything?
-
Mine is just on the way here now "out for delivery" from Amazon... It should be here any minute. I can't wait to play it, obviously, which is why I got the release-day shipping.
As for the people saying JB is not metal... you don't know squat about metal. There are those with the long hair and tattered clothes or outfits who dress the way they do to make a fashion statement. Metal isn't about fashion statements. Maybe heavy metal is, but heavy metal is too gimmicky these days.

8 Men in Black? What is this MiB you speak of?
The historical binary interpretation of mega is still in wide use by the consumer software industry and use of the mebi prefix is still not common.
Sorry, you gave me a bit of a nerd seizure and I couldn't help it...

This was a wonderful birthday present. <3
My birthday came and went without a tribute album
This is a very great collection of music, short, but great
It's like the OCRE of album releases

I'll think about letting you claim a second track after you get in a WIP for your first one. You're admitting that you already have a couple other things on your plate, so why are you opting for a second track before I see work on the first? And people can do a lot with 40 seconds of source. I wouldn't want the track done just to get it done, as that wouldn't even give the track feeling, especially at a short source length.
Well you gotta be careful not to spread it like too less butter over a big piece of bread. Know what I mean?
I've got a couple things on my plate but I'm not like Obama. I'm actually going to do stuff. I'm actually starting official "sound" work on my first NiGHTS WIP tonight. I'm not sure what will result from this, I guess it depends on how lucky I am with getting inspirational tones. Nothing stints inspirado faster than a lack of rock-it sauce.
I figured you trusted me enough musically to let me claim the second track but meh, apparently not... just trying to help. ;p
-
Hey Lvl99. I will claim Fragmented Nights, the final unclaimed track, in addition to Gate of your Dreams. It won't be some long thing though as the source is just 40 seconds, it will just be a project song -- wouldn't pass ocr judges due to length. If you're cool with that, let me know.
For some reason I thought I had so much more time left before first wips were due. Oh well. I will get one or two to you asap. I've got a couple things on my plate first.

Ohhh... you guys were talking like it was done and online already. I'll listen to it. I can't stay mad at you forever, Hubbard. Though I would totally love it if I could be on the show in some way.
