  1. Thank you so much for the detailed review @timaeus222!! I'll continue working on this and update you in the future.
  2. Attaching a complete track that's ready for review. Thank you again @Souperion! So far, I'm really happy how this turned out. Underground Sewers and the Trial (Rakafella music).mp3
  3. @Souperion thank you so much! I really appreciate your feedback. I still have FL studio 12, but I'll look into upgrading so I can check out the FLEX packs. And great idea for the court room theme, I'll see if I can make that work.
  4. Hi OCRemix - I'm looking for some feedback on a remix I'm working on for the Underground Sewers theme from Chrono Trigger. I knew from the start that I wanted to try to remix this track with an EDM/clubby feel. I wanted a build-up into the overall theme of the track. Now that I've gotten the main melody down, I've hit a roadblock on what to do next. Any thoughts you can share would mean a ton to me Some things I'm struggling with now: Creatively approach - I've only got about a minute of the track so far, debating whether to find a new song to add to the remix or repeat some of the verses Mastering - How does the track feel overall? EQ balanced? Effective panning? Any instruments that stand out (in a good or bad way?)? Any other mastering tips I should consider? Percussion - any suggestions on how to spruce things up to keep it interesting? I'm still an amateur remixer using FL studio built-in plugins, so any feedback (whether large, small, obvious or not) is greatly appreciated!! Thank you so much! 5. I had a choco-boat load of fun crafting this remix! Both of the original OSTs are extremely relaxed and lazy, which is why I wanted to up the tempo in this dance remix. I'm not looking for any mod feedback. Just wanted to share for anyone willing to listen. 6. Had some extra time for the past few months due to COVID-19, so took a crack at a new remix. It's Dire Dire Docks from Super Mario 64. I'm not looking for any mod feedback. Just wanted to share for anyone willing to listen. Thank you for listening! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72OwNmhbVpk Source OST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBPbJyxqHV0
  7. Hey @Ronald Poe, sorry I didn't see this feedback 6 months ago haha. I appreciate your thoughts and honest critique!! I'm glad to hear that you too love KH2 (and are desperately awaiting KH3). I definitely agree the song is repetitive for an OC ReMix, but I felt it fit in better with the hip hop style (since many hip hop beats are supremely repetitive ). Also, I'm still figuring out what other track(s) to add to fit in with the theme of the arrangement. Thanks again!
  8. Hi OC Remix! I want to share my newest arrangement, intertwining the the themes of "Terra" from FF9 and "Phantom Forest" from FF6. These tracks both introduce new, mysterious locations to the gamer, twisting what they've learned so far in the game. Ironically I just happened to listen to these songs one-after-the-other in my playlist, and immediately heard the similarities! My arrangement strays from my usual style of upbeat remixes.. It felt weird to me to keep a beat with barely using any percussion. I hope you enjoy listening to this! I'm open to any comments and feedback, and greatly appreciate your time listening to my music. Thank you!! 9. Hey OC Remix community! Who else dived into Atlantica in KH2 and was blown away by the main theme!?? Here's my rendition of Isn't it Lovely from KH 2, in more of a hip-hop style! I also threw in a couple of Easter Eggs from the KH1 Atlantica theme, and the 2.5 HD remix of Isn't it Lovely. See if you can point them out! 10. @GXAPlayer Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate your feedback very much!! I'll revisit the lead trumpet and figure out a way (perhaps EQ like you suggested) to tone it down a bit. Thank you for listening!
  11. Hi everyone - I tried to mash up the FF6 Airship theme from the World of Ruin with Frog's theme from Chrono Trigger. This was a tricky remix, since individually these songs are stylistically independent. But I played the melodies over each other, and thought that it was a great enough fit to try a remix. I experimented a lot with different instruments for leads, especially for Frog's theme. Normally I would never use a trumpet but here, it felt just right! Hope you guys enjoy it!! Any feedback appreciated, good or bad. 12. Thanks for the feedback Rozovian and Geoffrey Taucer! Appreciate the tangible comments you provided. I worked to improve those specific areas, and have an updated version to share. Please check out the links to the updated version below: Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgBOGwt1R_c Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/rakafellamusic/remix-xenogears-singing-of-the-gentle-wind
  13. HI FRIENDS!! I attempted an electronic upbeat remix of Xenogears - Singing of the Gentle Wind. While the original is a peaceful serenade, I chose to give it life (and drums, for that matter). My main approach was to stay true to the main theme, while adding a couple original sections and straying from the chord progression at points with some dissonance. Looking for a mod evaluation overall, but specifically can hope you can help me improve the following: Balance of instruments Panning More/less SFX Making the song more exciting Thanks so much and any feedback is appreciated! Context: If you're a Xenogears fan, the original track is the main theme of Nisan. My remix: Original Track:
  14. Hi there - I'm looking for some feedback on a new remix I composed. Thank you OCRemix community! The gist of this approach was to take the peaceful forest music and turn it into a groove (also converting time signature of 3 into 4). Song: Silence Before The Storm Source Video: Composer: Nobuo Uematsu (remixed by myself) Game: Final Fantasy X
  15. Gario and timaeus222 - Thanks for the timely feedback! Much appreciated. I'll do my best to go through and post a revised version within a couple weeks.
  16. Hi there! I really enjoy this remix. As a huge DKC fan, I definitely feel like you've included the main elements of the song, but transformed it into what I would call an upbeat ethnic remix. Really like the additional solo elements at the end to add variety to the song. Not too many suggestions for improvement from me, but see below for a couple examples: PRODUCTION [x] Too loud - Just specifically referring to one particular part (can't see timings in your link, but its the crash right at the end of the bridge about 60% into the song) [x] Too quiet - Not a huge fan of the super long fade out, I would shorten it or add an original ending to the song Good luck!
  17. Hi! I created a remix of the DKC 2 Credits theme, to give it an uptempo groove. This is an original remix, which I created in FL Studio 11. I took the main elements from the original track, and revamped it with an upbeat tempo and some cameos of my favorite DKC2 songs. Please take a listen, any and all feedback is appreciated. https://soundcloud.com/rakafella1018/donkey-kong-country-2-credits-theme-remix This version has included the judges' feedback. Looking for feedback on their improvement points: Sidechaining the kick to the bass and backing elements Reducing repetition Adding more SFX and sweeps Dialing back the levels Adding more panning to spread out sound Variation to beat, and beefier kick/snare Achieving a track that evolves over time This feedback was based on the older version I submitted to the OC remix judges: https://soundcloud.com/rakafella1018/donkey-kong-country-2-credits-theme-remix-older-version Specific feedback can be seen here: http://ocremix.org/community/topic/41310-no-donkey-kong-country-2-kong-konvention/ Original track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrexCu_gi_A THANK YOU!
