there IS a wrapper for Cubase available somewhere, but it doesn't work for shit and last I checked it wasn't even being supported anymore.

i've finally got to play with the QL Guitar & Bass. the samples themselves are actually pretty nice... but the mapping on the ROLAND version is absolutely god fucking awful. i mean... seriously. bad notes abound.

haha percussive adventures is pretty cool stuff. i forgot how much of a pain in the ass AKAI S1000 was to deal with though.

i may be skippy on other people's screens, but people aren't skippy on mine. anyways, new racials: Draenei: * Blessing of the Naaru - heals the target of 50 damage over 15 sec (1.5 sec cast) * Gemcutting - Jewelcrafting skill increased by 15 * Inspiring Presence - Increases chance to hit with spells by 1% for all party members within 30 yards * Shadow Resistance - increased by 10 Blood Elves: * Arcane Affinity - Enchanting increased by 15 * Arcane Torrent - Silence all enemies within 8 yards for 2 sec. In addition, you gain 20 Energy, Mana or Rage for each Mana Tap charge currently affecting you. * Magic Resistance - All resistances increased by 5 * Mana Tap - Drains 50 mana from your target and charges you with Arcane energy until cancelled. This effect stacks up to 3 times. That Draenei HoT looks severely gimped though. Hopefully the amount healed increases as you level, because at lvl 60 (let alone at 70) 50hp is absolutely dick. Same with the blood elf racials. 50 mana ain't dick.

hmm... i just had an idea... if sgtrama ain't totally opposed to the idea i could set up some community sample hosting at thasauce, so mixers and wannabes can upload free samples/vst/dx and shit to share with people.

According to Unknown (Ty), the CDxtract demo let's you convert one folder at a time. However, it considers the entire CD as one folder, so you SHOULD be able to use that to convert to soundfont. In regards to the Guitar + bass programming.. you're going to want some sort of sampler like Kontakt, Halion, or VSampler to reprogram it. It is very poorly programmed to begin with. There are different patches for high/low regions on the keyboards and soft and loud velocities. hmm you could probably even make a sfz patch for it (if you had sfz+ anyways).

my computer: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 1GB DDR400 GeForce 4 4200 128mb 250gb SATA HDD I'm on 56k and I get no lag. Sometimes I'll get some occassional stuttering when entering Org and loading all the players, but that's it. Maybe you need to tone down your graphics settings (kill the AA or something). AV is hella unplayable though. Not so much the graphics as much as the fact that 56k just simply can't handle that much madness. Makes me a very sad panda. I want to get me a frostwolf already damnit, but that ain't never gonna happen.

if i ever get broadband, i'll upload some of these free SF2s i have (including some surprisingly decent guitar samples) that unfortunately aren't hosted anywhere on the net anymore.

ok.. now how do i make notes stop playing? i tried v00 but that seems to cause some very odd behavior (the notes after that get all muffled, even if you raise the volume again). and there's no =?

I'd like to know this as well. I think I'll take a second shot at some goods from this sale before it's too late. I'm currently considering: QL Guitar & Bass Roland ($19.95) EW Percussive Adventures AKAI ($19.95) -- anyone got to play with this one yet? Ultimate Piano AKAI ($19.95) Also, my VSampler demo expired. I think I might pick up Kontakt 2. Damn is it pricey though.

Do you guys foresee any problems using the Roland samples, or should I spend the extra $30 and get the AKAI?

after listening to the QL Guitar & Bass demo that came with QL Brass, i'm half tempted to buy it. i could use some good bass/acoustic samples. except SOL has it in two flavors: AKAI ($50) or Roland ($20). do you think it's worth the extra $30 for the AKAI? i know pretty much absolutely nothing about roland samples.

got my stuff today. QLBrass is some good stuff, and totally without question worth the $20. VSampler does an excellent job of loading the AKP's as usual.

also, blizzard has released info on the new shaman and mage talents. holy crap the new mage frost tree is GODLY.
