Great entries this round, everyone! Definitely a tough decision to make. -
Let's do this!

PRC340 - The Evening Has Fallen (Zombies Ate My Neighbors)
Dewey Newt replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
Excellent competition and entries this round, great job everyone! I'm with GCJ in that I didn't see this result in the works at all. I've got some ideas for a source, just need to make sure I can find a good MIDI out there for it. I'll shoot you a PM after I do my searching, GCJ (or you'll beat me to it, one of the two, haha). Skimming through "Da Rules", GCJ and I both pick a source, and then it's the competitor's choice whether they want to cover my source, GCJ's source, or mix the two together. Did I read all of that correctly? -

Going to have to sit out this round. I have a little too much going on right now, but I'm looking forward to the entries! I'll be sure to throw my 2 cents vote in as well. -

My entry! https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8-q7hg2GtQPQnRMalJvSWhldFE I was originally going to go with a Middle Eastern/Indian style with sitar and the like, but the longer I listened, the more it started to sound like reggae. So, I went ahead and threw the bass line down in a swing pattern, and everything else sort of fell into place. I feel like there's something that needs to be added to the mix, I just can't put my finger on that particular something... Anywho, I had a good experience experimenting with a new style, barring the artist's block I got in the middle. -

PRC339 - The Theme of Rose (Legend of Dragoon)
Dewey Newt replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
Congrats, Popoi, and to everyone who entered! There were some great entries this round that made judging/competiting pretty tough. Edit: Also had a slight panic attack on Bundeslang's post saying PRC340 was due Wednesday. Thought he/she meant the Wednesday in 2 days instead of 9. -
PRC339 - The Theme of Rose (Legend of Dragoon)
Dewey Newt replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
Sent my PM vote in. If I'm going to enter more of these, I should get a ThaSauce account to make Bundeslang's life easier. I also need all the bonus points I can get lol. Never turn down extra credit! -
Hmmmm... I'm still pretty green when it comes to arranging/remixing, so entering a fierce, 18 person team competition? ...... Count me in. I'll make my preference for Team Knights. Looking forward to the competition!

Great job on the entries, everyone! Here's to more in the coming days.

I thought it was some mythological beast type thing. Maybe legendary mold? -
PRC339 - The Theme of Rose (Legend of Dragoon)

Ah, Legend of Dragoon! Good game, good game. This was one of those games my oldest brother had and I played, but didn't have the chance to beat because he moved out and took it with him. I did get to beat this game finally within the past year or so, and enjoyed it very much. Having the chance to listen to this song outside of the game showed me just how fitting this theme was for Rose. Anywho, I had to get my entry done quick, as I won't be able to work on music for the next week starting tomorrow. I went for a slower, hip-hop/R&B type feel, with some synths thrown in the mix later on. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8-q7hg2GtQPczk3MmduTEEta1U -
Free round, with no extra accounts needed. Guess it's time for me to stop lurking the forums and throw an entry in. I was working on a SNES TMNT IV style cover of Spark Mandrill when the contest started, so that will be my entry: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8-q7hg2GtQPcnFDRFlTMTlvakU Interesting side note: TMNT IV only used 6 of the 8 SNES channels for music. I stuck to that rule, which was a little difficult to implement on this song since MMX used all 8. Maybe this type of cover is not the best to enter contests with, but eh, I'm entering anyways!
