So I have completed a track I've been working on for quite a while now, called "Unalienable". It's sort of a philisophical pop song. Just about done. Still fine-tuning it it bit. I'd love to get your feedback. Please tell me what you like or don't like. I love criticism. Criticize the crap out of it! I don't think vocals work with this song at all, or at least I can't imagine it. There's far too much going on, and I feel the vocals would be competing with the rest of the song. If you desire vocals, you need to back off on some of the excitement coming from the synth(s) and allow something a little closer to a proper verse/chorus arrangement. So unless you plan to rework some of it, I agree with the first part of what Blue Metal Machine said: don't force it.

You've got a good concept built so far. Curious if you have a particular inspiration for the track. Two things that I think it needs are: 1) Diversify your instruments a bit. I hear the same ones repeatedly. 2) More bass presence. Might be as simple as adding a second bass track one octave above.

Not bad at all. Metal isn't usually my go-to genre of music, but I do appreciate the talent that is required of any type of music really. I have wanted to play guitar for years. Given you've only played for a year, that gives me pretty good confidence that if some time is put into it, I could also achieve what you have in the same timeframe. Have you thought of attempting some more melodic walks on the guitar in one of your songs? That's the only thing I can think of that could improve this one. Anyway, nice listening. It's a fairly polished demo: I started working on this song a couple years ago, but never finished it because I wasn't totally satisfied with the overall "sound". However, I got a StudioLive 24 Series III mixer with Studio One a couple months ago, along with a brand new computer that can handle more processing and memory. I decided it was time to return to this one and see what I could do with it. I dumped all the tracks off my MOXF6, redid the mix entirely, added several new layers, and recorded some vocals. I feel it's really coming together. It's sort of a pop/r&b tune with some synthwave influence. There are a few more things to do yet such as add vocals to the end of the song. I am also not satisfied with the saxophone solo, nor background vocals on the chorus parts. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to fix those backing vocals just yet. I'd love to hear opinions: what I did well, what I didn't do so well, how I can improve it, etc.
