  1. We kinda got some pretty high standards for orchestral songs on this site.

This song is very well thought out, but lacking in the areas of sound quality.

I very much like how it was sequenced. Shows mastery of the genre.

GRAH, pretty torn on this remix. Its the sample quality that brings it down, but otherwise its totally

    YES worthy

  2. I believe I heard this song a long time ago in its early stages.

My issues with this song are as follows:

Awkward tempo changes happening all the time.

Song does not deviate from original much, though it does expand on the notation a bit.

Instruments are dry and unfulfilling. Its not so much the sample/instrument choice as how they were used. Even the worst samples could be used well.

Sequencing is borderline amateur. Just a lot of messy notes here and there.

I do like how the song follows zero's story through the good (not sucky) mmx games. Will need to be more than that though.

  3. there is some good fx and panning work done, but i feel that the theme and the musical aspects of the remix are too bare and thin. it's quite repetitive. a lot of hte instruments are dry.

good fx, now work on the music a little more. needs more layers.

    NO

    Exactly.

Effects and floody synths, but lacking in the music.

Cool idea, but get better at the music part. You got the sfx part down pat :)

  4. Heres my issue with this song (after much thought):

From roughly 22 seconds to 3 minutes, this song is virtually note for note with the original remlia track. The difference between the two tracks (aside from the orchestral percussion) is the strings in the back.

I know its supposed to be new-agy, but frankly I've heard good newagy and bad newagy. These strings are just off key half the time.

It would be acceptable if the rest of the remix wasn't so note-for-note.

The end starts to build and then completely dies out and the song ends. Very weak. I expect a much better ending for such a song.

  5. So yea, piano version of this song.

It basically plays through the original with some pretty nice variation. My issues include the lack of human touch and subpar piano sequencing. This was sequenced, right? One can tell. Secondly, no real chords, just a simple bassline. Its weak. Gotta be more advanced than that.

  6. Heheh

    This is pretty cool.

Goes through the whole song, and well.

My big problem is that its minimally routing through the original with no variation and focusing entirely on lyrics from that point.

This is what I rejected krazy kracker for. Gotta be fair. Also, thers that horrible bleep towards the end WTF.

    NO

    But it is pretty cool.

  7. Man, vig has been stealing all my opinions today.

So basically, this mix is a bit too amature. Theres a great deal of messy notation and off notes. I'm sure someone can justify the off notes with some vague, debatable theory from somewhere. Regardless, it hurts my ears.

I can tell emotion went into this song, but emotion isn't always enough. The basic ideals of what makes good music must be attained before this remix will get anywhere.

  8. Wow, this song is becomming rather popular of late.

How many remixes have we had so far? Quite a few I recon.

Hmm. I don't have any issues with that blues solo. It works very well. Theres nothing .. whoa...

ok, now I get it. At 3 minutes. I remember this now.

Yea, that piano chord section needs to be redone, or else

    NO

As for the rest, very cool. Redo that section, resubmit.

As I promised, the flaws were fixed, so

    YES

  9. At the continuous risk of being crusified by my fellow comrads, there are many off notes in this song. I understand the style attempted here, and while I think it has been accomplished to some extent it does not cover up for the issues.

    1. Way too short

    2. Off notes, poor arranging

    3. Nothing changes, nothing develops.

    4. Poor mastering/recording.

    NO

  10. Being virtually identical to the original aside, the biggest problems of this song is that it doesn't change significantly. For 2 minutes, you can't really justify that. Secondly, it appears as if to make up for the general lack of originality and effort, appropriate sound effects were placed on top of everything.
