I agree with Brandon that we don't need to antagonize people. No reason for it. If you don't have something constructive to add please don't post for the sake of dogpiling on someone.
Regarding the album promo, I think it's been pretty solid so far. Less than 24 hours and it has over 2.1k Likes on Facebook. That's VERY good... more than some of our recent releases combined. Part of the reason for doing this is to reach new audiences who ONLY consume music through Amazon, iTunes, Spotify etc. and it's already succeeding at that. The fact that you CAN stream it on SoundCloud in full also means that nobody is being prevented from hearing it.
If there was any doubt, Dave already broke down the financials in another thread and the transparency is absolutely there.

3DS has a really nice library of both niche and exclusive titles. Pokemon X/Y, Fire Emblem, Shin Megami Tensei, Etrian Odyssey series, the Mario RPG type games (Dream Team I guess being the latest one, but also Sticker Star), and so forth. That's why I bought one, and I'm enjoying it so far. But to me the Wii U library and even upcoming offerings all look pretty lame, with the exception of 3D World.
-
Man, looking rough for this poor console. Only thing I'm interested in is 3D World and that just ain't a console seller...
-
Suggestion - have you reached out to your friends & family yet? Facebook, mailing list, that sort of thing? Colleagues, classmates?
-
Yep I've noticed this as well. Seems like many kinds of shared links are not doing well. Not sure what the algorithm is though.
-
Congrats on the launch!

Huh? That's not how I read it. According to Lyte's post you can queue with whatever lane/role you want, it just might take longer to find a game with unorthodox roles/setups. If you want to queue with the intention of playing a 5x bruiser setup, you can. That's pretty awesome. I didn't get the impression that one person decided the roles or setup.
-
I gotta say after seeing Super Mario 3D World I'm pretty excited. Still need a little more of a push before I would get a WiiU though... need some more great multiplayer games. I could see getting one maybe for Christmas if there is some good stuff out by then.

Shipping is being done in batches. We're working on it!

Go to the FL wrapper settings, try Rendering Mode Notify. If it's on, turn it off. If it's off, turn it on. If that doesn't work, do the same thing but for Use Fixed Size Buffers instead. If you're using the 32bit omni, try 64bit... and vice versa

Dudes. Calm down. No need to attack people for expressing an opinion.

I personally never understood how people could think the OCR arrangement standards are limiting. They just require some personalization. I don't think any of my remixes are particularly liberal... in fact they tend to stay pretty close to the source tempos, moods, chords, etc. I just add a little extra flair in the way of some solos and variations to make it my own. Is it really limiting to expect that?
As for not submitting your stuff, yeah, the wait is pretty long. But it's not like you have to hold your breath during that time, right? You can still post it elsewhere. Furthermore, you don't HAVE to redo things if the track gets rejected. You could just take the feedback into account for your next track. There's basically no harm in submitting something.

Watch it LIVE NOW!

I don't have a problem with violence as long as it has a purpose in the gameplay. But I also think it can be over the top, like scenes of torture, disembowelment, evisceration, etc. I also don't like to play games where you have to do bad stuff and basically always try to be the 'good guy' where possible. I don't get any pleasure out of being rewarded for doing bad things.
-
True dat. I've always had faith in Blizz that Diablo 3 would continue to get better and better over time, and indeed it has. They've already added practically an expansion's worth of content since release so I can't wait to play again when RoS hits. I probably put about 300-400 hours into the game already and while I don't see much point in playing *right now*, before all these awesome changes, I'm just very happy that the game is headed for greater heights.

Both auction houses are being removed.

Wowowowowowoow.
This + ladders + everything else... Diablo 3 EXP is going to be amazing.

Their problem is how the console is being marketed. Have you seen some of the ads? Literally, one of them involves a cartoon manchild screaming about the latest $60 Call of Duty game. He then starts vomiting and drowning in a sea of vomit, after which he pulls out his own spinal cord. I'm not kidding. It's disgusting. Who the hell are they marketing to?
If I had to make an ad for Ouya, it would highlight the strengths of the system.
* A bunch of friends on a couch laughing and smiling, playing games like No Brakes, Amazing Frog, Get on Top, Hidden in Plain Sight, Bomb Squad, and Towerfall.
"Ouya brings back couch gaming in style. Connect up to 8 Ouya, Xbox 360, or PS3 controllers and you're ready to go!"
* A parent and child playing a game like "Save the Puppies!" (which is actually really well-done)
"Hundreds of fun, free to download games for all ages, from puzzle and racing games to action platformers and RPGs."
* A single person playing something like Final Fantasy III, Sonic CD, Sonic IV, Bard's Tale...
"Play bestselling modern and retro classics from companies like SEGA and Square Enix!"
* A dude picking up his Ouya with one hand, then putting it into a bag and leaving... then hooking it up at a friend's house in the next shot.
"OUYA is the perfect size to take with you and connect anywhere. Just two cables and you're good to go."
* Back to another group shot of people browsing the store and downloading a bunch of games (montage)
"Browse the store and try EVERY game for free. No catch!"
etc. These are the strengths of the system that should be played up. It shouldn't be compared with Xbox 360 or PS3 or whatever. It has a fun, unique library of games, a super-small and convenient form factor, excellent multiplayer capability, free-to-play built in, and so forth.

Well yeah, but honestly I got bored after like 2 minutes. I don't think that's the kind of game that deserves a front page. Well, not in their current state.
Maybe it's just me though.
Collectively my friends and I have probably played No Brakes Valet for 100+ hours easily... it might be my favorite game on the console. Jill plays it like 30 mins a day easily. It should absolutely be front page

No Brakes Valet and Amazing Frog are also absolutely hilarious.

Thanks for the comments.
#1 I am not asking for it to get replaced. Since I'm not in power to do that, I won't ask for it.
#2 I'm not stupid and I know I can't erase the old version for existence but I would like to not support the version that is still available.
#3 My feelings represent my sentiment as a whole for the amount of time I contributed to the project for the community with the treatment given back to me. I need not say more or ask for charity.
#4 I will never sub a mix again.
#5 This post will be the extent of how this mix is available.
peace
I think you will be happier if you just move on from this experience and look to the future. It's always more productive to write new things. It also seems needlessly self-destructive to not submit more remixes to the site. You're only hurting your own exposure; you're not hurting anyone else.
-
It will never be cool ironically to own an N-gage. Ouya, sure. Andy and I talked briefly about it last night, and while we disagree about the games for the console, I am glad that he enjoys it.
Conceptually it has the tech and the tools to be worthwhile for devs. Built-in wifi and ethernet, HDMI, USB w/ mass storage capacity, emulation, great store, and the ability to use PS3 + 360 controllers (!). The last point alone is pretty awesome.

Are you an aspiring ReMixer? Do you want to start using FL Studio like so many others here, but don't know where to start? I've been using FL since 2003 and became a power user back in 2009 when I wrote the "NewStuff.flp" demo song, 'Just Hold On'. After creating countless tutorials, I've taken it one step further and created a comprehensive 90+ minute video course titled "FL Studio 101".
http://www.macprovideo.com/tutorial/fl-studio-101-introducing-fl-studio
http://www.askvideo.com/course/fl-studio-101-introducing-fl-studio
Featuring 27 videos, you will learn:
* Every window and editor in FL
* Basic audio & MIDI setup
* MIDI editing and recording
* Workflow organization
* Keyboard shortcuts and gestures
* Adding and using 3rd party plugins
* Mixer routing
* MIDI controller linking
* Automation (clips & events!)
* Multitimbral plugins and routing
* and much more!
The course assumes you have never used FL before, and through careful instruction (with clear, polished VO & 720p video) shows you everything you need to create music in any genre.
Check it out at MacProVideo or AskVideo!

Do you actually own an Ouya? I've had more fun with mine than any other console I own (and I own all of them, except for the WiiU). I hope that the company gets their stuff together, but honestly I think the console itself and many of the games are a hell of a lot of fun.

The amount of money spent on a mix has no bearing on anything. If there is cool related stuff that Dave finds relevant, he'll link to it in the writeup at his discretion, regardless of $ involved.
