  1. I think the issue is they didn't take enough risks with FF14, based on what I've read. FF13 took a lot of risks, on the other hand, and was fairly well-received for it (83/100 on Metacritic, strong sales.)
  2. I don't use PLAY but keyswitches are generally the best way to switch between articulations. Also, if there are modwheel-based patches for dynamics, you'll want to use those too (far better than velocity -> dynamics.)
  3. Wow, congratulations!!! That's really awesome, and definitely an honor given how few finalists there are. I'll definitely vote for you
  4. UPDATE! Many customers have asked us if we can open this up to individual products, and we hear that loud and clear. So, we've done just that. The group buy is now open to INDIVIDUAL LIBRARIES! Anyone getting these individual collections WILL contribute to the discount total, so if the discount level is at 50%, you will get 50% off whatever your order is - whether it's just one product, or all six. So, this means the starting prices (at our 21% discount level) are now as follows: Koto Nation: $79 Sitar Nation: $79 Groove Bias: $63 Impact: Steel: $47 And they only get lower from here. http://www.impactsoundworks.com/group-buy/ has been updated with a drop-down menu for these individual libraries. Enjoy!

  6. First track isn't so good... but I like that FF7 battle rap remix
  7. Alright man, just hit me up via PM or IRC! Sweet! Also we have a new release build with just some minor bugfixes, so if you wouldn't mind running the review by me first so if you mentioned any glitches, I can let you know if those are fixed in the final build. Thanks guys!
  8. Disk streaming is actually a new development; before Gigastudio, all samplers loaded into RAM by default. So, of course Kontakt has this capability. But most modern samples are so big, you generally wouldn't want to do that. Anyway, a USB drive is fine provided it's 7200rpm... I know a lot of composers that do this with no problems to speak of.
  9. Well, we're not doing the poll in this thread; we'll make a new one for that.
  10. Indeed - bluefox used to come to #ocremix on ETG. He got banned. Simple as that. There's no issue with having to "deal" with him.
  11. Hey, for the people who are asking about interviews / podcast stuff, can you say who you're addressing? It's not clear whether you're talking to me & the Space Whale guys or Mirby.
  12. http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?p=733000
  13. http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/?category=1649 Sample libraries, synths + FX for 50% off or more, not to mention all the freebies. Don't have Kontakt 4? You'll never get it cheaper than $200. Tons of awesome stuff for as low as $30.
  14. Yeah, while some of this stuff is still relevant & useful, there are definitely some gaps and inaccuracies that I would love to correct. My goal (which I may not be able to reach during 2010) is to have a series of videos showing the creation of a remix from start to finish. That should be a nice update for the new decade
  15. Haha, thanks anyway Coop. Brushfire: Hells yes. I will be home this Monday and BEYOND Mirby: No need to post the review here... we'll have an official thread for the game at some point. Getting the word out to the world-at-large is more important, so let me know when you're done so we can coordinate!
  16. I've been on Esper for 7 years and visit Freenode pretty frequently... I don't see any appreciable difference. Esper's services are just fine (nick/chan registration, ghosting, etc.) and it's stable. If most everyone prefers Esper and it has everything we need, why do we need Freenode? Not to mention #vgmusic is on Esper, and they're sort of a cousin site.
  17. Absolutely beautiful work! Jill introduced me to Kate's original music and it's all extremely impressive and, well, wondrous. It's very rare (and special) to see a singer, songwriter and lyricist that also plays and records ALL of her instruments, not to mention production + video editing. We bought three copies already
  18. I really don't get why people have trouble with ETG. I've been on the #ocremix channel since 2003. I've used it from dozens of computers and internet connections and I've never had any problems whatsoever. Literally not once, on any coast, in any state. That being said, I don't like ETG because it doesn't have a real chanserv/nickserv. So I'm down with a move.
  19. Kjaerhus Classic Chorus is good if you can find it!
  20. Acoustic Revolutions Volume 1 is officially out! Congrats Jimmy!! http://impactsoundworks.com/products/instrumental/acoustic-revolutions-vol-1 Get it for $19 through Black Friday! FREE DEMO LOOPS! http://impactsoundworks.com/productdemos/Acoustic_Revolutions_vol_1_Demo.rar All preorders will be fulfilled shortly!
  21. Whoops, not to be a pain but can I get one other version of the ad? I just need this variation as well. Check the main directory again for Ad2.rar or Ad2.avi. The settings I liked the best were Pyrion #2 and Slacker #2.
