  1. Although I do think the trumpet was a bit weak. He needs to play with more confidence.

Edit: I don't mind the name for the album. I grew up on Sega Genesis as opposed to SNES. I think the title fits, in an ironic sort of way. Jesus, this is a tribute album, you think they honestly feel the Genesis is a true loser?

  2. I really wish we don't see a 3D Metroid if a long time. Maybe until there's a Nintendo console that has actual high definition and actually does Metroid games justice as far as having cutting edge visuals go. It'd be amazing if Metroid has all the real-time-lighting and other amazing visuals games like Dead Space and other adventure-style FPS/TTPS games have.

They should just go back to 2D where it's best. If they keep making 3D Metroids, it'll keep striving to be like other FPS games.

This is one of the few times I've ever agreed with you. I just simply haven't been able to force my way through a Metroid Prime game.

  3. I've known about the game for a while now. It really won't be as bad as everyone thinks it will be. (In terms of story at least. The gameplay might be mediocre. I dunno.) The game won't take place during the movie. That would be stupid, since there isn't much action in Watchmen. It's gonna take place before the Keene Act. From what I remember, you play as Nite Owl II and Rorschach. A game where you get to kick ass and break fingers in their heyday? Sounds like a solid concept right there.

As for the ending, I'm hearing conflicting reports constantly. One confirms the end will be in tact, another confirms that it will be a different ending. I'm not gonna believe any of them until the movie actually comes out. It'll actually be nice to not know about how the movie will end. Add to the mystery. I'm pretty sure that both endings will be on the DVD anyway.

I've wanted this game for so long. I don't care if it's "casual" or whatnot. Each button assigned an actual note? Getting to play an instrument that isn't either a guitar, drumset, electric bass (the most boring kind of bass.).

The songs can range from easy:

    0wm0XBm2qfg

    To hard:

    bEKYgigzPEQ

The instrument samples sound very dated, sure. Very much like a first gen OCRemix (Oh snap!), but the game did come out in 2005 after all.

I'm gonna have to import this eventually. I'm pretty sure it's got wireless single cart support.

  5. Yes. Wii Music has such feature.

That is the bitch. I'm gonna have to try it soon.

In Wii Music though I believe it's only based on speed and only on moving it up and down. If you try to actually conduct with it you do worse.

Hmm. That sucks. I'll still have to try it.

It seems like all the fun music game ideas I have never make it to fruition.

Jam With The Band? Each DS plays a different instrument, get together with your friends and all play a song as a band? Kick ass. Rock Band precursor there. Too bad it never came to the States.

I don't care what anyone says, my idea for Rock Band is much better. That game's garbage until they add a rock organ. They don't even need to call it "Rock Band." Rename it to "The Doors" and it would be gold.

  6. The news sucks, but I still need to try it. I've never seen any screenshots, but seeing Miyamoto demonstrate how it would play way back made it look extremely fun. I didn't imagine it as playing an instrument, I thought it would be more like a conductor game, like Mad Maestro. Conduct fast, band plays fast. Conduct slow, the band plays slow. Conduct in a certain areas to make different sections play, little things like that. Does wiimusic have this? If it does, I don't care how bad the instrument playing parts are, I'd still say this is worth a purchase.

  7. QFE... I'm afraid I'm pretty clueless when it comes to homebrew. Is there any straight-forward tutorial out there which would explain what I need to buy and do in order to get Mother 3 running on my DS Lite?

It shouldn't be hard to google up, but if you're patient, I'll post a tutorial here once I get my flashcart. It shipped last week......so I should theoretically get it in another week. Or two. You know how free shipping from Hong Kong can be.

I just beat Mother 3 last night. That was one of the most satisfying experiences I've had in a long time.

  8. I got it used from GameCrazy for $12 bucks or so. No instructions though. I went to a GameStop telling them I bought a copy there and didn't have the instructions, and I got lucky. I found the case, popped it open, and the disc was still there. I informed one of the employees. He said he was looking for that. Was so thankful, he let me have the instructions.

  9. You are you guys/gals using for a controller? (I saw that the Gamecube controller was not functioning properly)

The wiimote works perfectly. Best way to emulate the NES experience.

The Magnets in Tornado Man's stage is the new collapsing platforms in Gutsman's stage.

  10. Yes, yes, yes, and double-yes!

I can't believe all these shows I used to ritually watch. I don't even know if I understood half the stuff- but it was TV heaven for me. Then... they moved Toonami to Saturdays and waiting once every seven days for a new Dragonball Z was not cool.

Looking at Toonami and then Miguizi is like stabbing my eye... is Miguzi still even around?

DBZ had been over long before they moved to Saturdays. You're thinking of GT. And Miguzi died forever ago. No one wept.

  11. It's called having standards

But I will say the kid will have something of a future, be it pigeoned holed in the same role or some how getting a mix of roles...

Standards? Yeah, I got standards. I can do My Funny Valentine, I Won't Dance, I Get a Kick Out of You, Moonlight Serenade....

  12. That's... Kind of scary.

I personally think AS would be heading more in the right direction if lessened the amount of "12oz mouse" randomness they seem to enjoy spewing at us. Venture brothers has to be one of the best shows they have IMHO. Metalocalypse is alright and I have some hopes for that barbarian show they piloted several months, if not a year ago now. Anyone know what the status was of that show?

Korgoth The Barbarian. And I hated it. As far as I know, it wasn't picked up.

They need to get rid of Squidbillies too. Just awful.

  13. A monkey drove around a go-kart thing while Spritle air-guitared Freebird while running away from security guards at one point. I enjoyed every minute of him on screen. I can understand in some movies when children can be annoying, but Jesus Christ, everyone automatically writes off every child in every movie as "annoying." Is being an uptight asshole the new cool?

The kid who played Spitle's got some serious acting chops. I see a bright future for him.

  14. I thought at the time batman beyond was last aired it was going on an "indefinite hiatus"

Although I guess that's about the same as canceled in tv talk anyway. :S

Fortunately, it received a proper conclusion in the season one finale of Justice League Unlimited. Ah, JLU. Last show on Toonami I gave a damn about.

  15. Fun fact: The last episode of Batman Beyond was first aired on Toonami. It wasn't an amazing episode by any means, just the last episode before it got canceled. It was kind of a let down for people, but that's because they had misplaced expectations.

  16. Thing is I didn't go in expecting a classic movie. I went in as a fan of the original cartoon. I know the cartoon was cheesy, but this was borderline ham acting. I was depressed as hell that John Goodman was in this. And even when I didn't think it was possible, his younger brother Spritle and Chim Chim were more annoying than the cartoon. Wow.

I just don't see how it's possible to have gone the serious route with this movie. It wouldn't have been nearly as charming or fun. It's a film where everyone was perfectly cast, it had a clear family message to it that wasn't shoved down your throat. I didn't find Spritle annoying at all. He was funny and had some pretty big balls for a kid. John Goodman as Pops was badass. The family rock. No one else could have pulled it off the way he did. On one hand, he's a father, the other, serious race car entrepreneur who can beat up ninjas. The scene where Speed talks about the night he watched the championship race with Pops show's that he's got depth. Mom was the glue that held the family together.

To be honest, it's not a 100% accurate adaptation of the cartoon. The cartoon is extremely two dimensional. The movie gives depth to a cartoon that had none.
