I've won two optionals against grayfox. I still need to play my other game against Bahamut and both of my games against John. Not sure if I'll get them all done or not.

I just wanted to share this ridiculously sweet mate I got on some random guy. Check it out, starting with the bishop sacrifice at move 32. I'm black. ;Title: Yahoo! Yeah, ks_sox_fan hasn't been around for me either.

I think the team battle's a really cool idea.

Won two against Snerrak. Second game was very tight. Check out his moves at 39 and 40. The whole game went fast up to that point, but I spent a good five minutes on those last few moves, trying to avoid instant checkmate. ;Title: Yahoo! I vote nay. Let's not have a grammatically incorrect banner just because that's how you've been saying it for awhile. I know lots of people that have been writing for awhile without the use of commas, but that's not a tradition I want to support.

Played Bahamut as my bonus match. He won both. The second game was pretty good, thus I'll post it here. ;Title: Yahoo! Probably the most interesting thing about this game for me was that both us were down to about two minutes. This is unusual because usually if I'm at two minutes, Bahamut is at eight. Kind of an unfortunate loss at the end. I guess I wasn't really thinking there. Oh, well.

I had that same problem with Margo a couple weeks ago. We managed to get the old yahoo working and had our games there (we could only connect to the new yahoo at first).

Fire and I had our second game, and this time I won. It was somewhat of an interesting game, so I'm posting it here. ;Title: Yahoo! I really haven't played Fire much since the early days but I think he's gotten much better. I think I have a tendency to think of the other players as boss fights in a video game. I learn their patterns and get better at the game, but I find myself surprised when other players improve as well. But it's good that we're all pushing and learning from each other.

Margo took two more wins from me. I'm on quite the streak, aren't I?

I played an optional match against Setz, and he won both games. Good playing Setz.

Clef beat me twice. Hardly a shocking, come-from-behind victory, but I did my best to beat the spread. Alas, to no avail.

That's awesome you guys. Thanks for joining. By the way John, I recently changed the graphics display for mine. If you right click on the screen and go to configure, then go to the tab for graphics, you can switch the image. It's supposed to represent the folding things that you're doing, the protein strands that are being simulated and all that, but it doesn't get any more action-packed than that. The exciting part is seeing our team's rankings going up (as well as your individual ranking within the team). Just leave it on all the time, it doesn't slow down your computer or anything. By the way, your names will show up on the list after you've completed your first work unit. -
Have you thought about having only a finite number of points, based on the number of players entered? I.e., a new player joins, and starts with a default of 50 points. That way, the only way to gain or lose points is to exchange with other players, and the amount one player loses should be equal to the amount that the other player gains. So if a player doesn't play for a couple of weeks, his points are unaffected. However, I'll admit this raises a whole host of other complications, like what to do when somebody draws with another player who is better than them. Should they get something based on the difference in their points? We'd need several formulas for the various situations and that might be too much work. I dunno, just a thought. By the way, I thank Margo for her corrections and remind everyone again how important folding is. See, we're all learning something. Regardless of the details, it's neat that you ca participate in scientific research without actually having to any work. Come on, let's beat Gamefaqs. It's just a couple clicks away!

This is neither ____ nor ____ by the ____ of the OCRCL. Kamoh, hit the link and get folding. We gotta beat gamefaqs!!!eleven

Listen, if you aren't aware, there's this thing called protein folding, which requires computer processing power. Basically, it's a brute force consideration of all the molecular possibilities if we do all these different things with strands of protein (protein is what DNA is made up of), and it's very important for various biological/medical research reasons. You can create and join a team that will get a ranking based on the number of work units you've completed, and OCR has its own team. All you have to do is download this little program that you just leave running whenever your computer's on, and put your processing power to good use. It's not invasive and won't affect your other programs. It only uses what processing power you happen to have available at any given time, without affecting other processes. We're trying to recruit more people now, because Gamefaqs is about to get ahead of us!!! Yes, those stupid bastards have more active CPUs and they are quickly closing the gap. We need to fight back. Let's totally kick ass. I'm nearly done my third work unit. I keep my computer on all the time now (though it gets shut down accidentally occasionally).
