  1. I also really don't like the ending. I thought my download had screwed up, it's completely cut-off. It doesn't sound intentional at all and I don't like it. It's a shame, because other than that, it's a cool mix. Edit: Just listened to it again. Sure this isn't a mistake? The note it ends on doesn't seem like the right note to end it on, and it seems partially cut off. Was this thing uploaded correctly? Edit again: Nevermind. Still think you could come up with a better signature than that though.
  2. I've heard the Zelda theme so many times already. While there's been some brilliant interpretations, particularly some of the jazz pieces, I didn't think I could particularly enjoy another orchestral mix of the main theme. This, however, exceeded all possible expectations. This is an absolutely awesome mix. The best new orchestral mix on this site in awhile I think, and one of the best mixes period to be posted on the site recently. And there have been some good ones. I must tip my hat to you sir.
  3. I thought the vocals were really professionally done. This is the best new rock song I've heard recently, and I wouldn't have expected to hear it here. I also downloaded the final fantasy iv mix, which I skipped over when it first came out, because the title didn't grab me, and I didn't care much for ff4's music, but I found that to be quite good as well, though I think I prefer this one just slightly. By the way, although a few people trashed the vocals, bear in mind that some (not all) people who visit this site are videogame freaks (not that I'm not) and have tastes in music which are somewhat limited. Maybe they can't all appreciate your style, but I think a lot of people who've never heard of Ninja Gaiden would, so kudos to you for broadening horizons. I liked the lyrics as well. I think everyone should bear in mind that if you take the lyrics to most of your favourite songs seperately, you'll probably find that it seems like bad poetry as well. When you add music though, it just...works. Not to criticise your criticisms, but they did seem rather nit-picky.
  4. Level 99? How did you ever have the patience to level up that much? I spent like, two hours in that sunken submarine (which supposedly is the best place to level up) in order to gain levels to beat the weapons, and I only went up a couple of levels. I never was able to beat either of them, I eventually gave up. I think I was in the high 60's, level-wise. I can't imagine Sephiroth would be any kind of challenge at level 99. The first time I beat him, I didn't even use Knights of the Round, although I still had them taking up a slot, which was a waste, since I refused to use them. With KOTR, well, it's not even much of a fight.
  5. Heh, forgot to press submit for the changes to my profile first.
  6. The funny thing is that you have to take off about a full bar of energy without knowing how much damage you're doing before his hp starts visibly diminishing. So it makes you think you're not doing any damage at all. Pretty clever. Bastards.
  7. I beat him at level 70. He's not that difficult once you figure out his pattern. You have to attack everytime he completes an attack, and you gotta move quick, but it's doable. I think I got him within five tries. How many attempts have you made?
  8. By request, Spyder sent me a link to this song several weeks ago. Now that it's posted though, I'll just put up my opinion here for all to see. It's quite nice, actually. I thought it was loyal to the original while still adding a different twist, and I really thought the 'electric' parts of the song merged with the orchestral moments very well. I'm really not a huge fan of electronica, generally, but I have no complaints at all about this. Very good stuff. I hope to see more MGS remixes of this caliber in the future.
  9. I'm trying to kill him right now. Stupid hard type, there's no way to keep your characters alive through that battle if you don't spend hours levelling up. Steal his Dark Matter, heal non-stop with Rosa, and use Edge to throw everything you've got at him. You can also try summoning with Rydia if you ever get the chance. Personal picks? I can't think of any *impossible* bosses, but Seymour Natus did give me a lot of trouble. Vagrant Story's final boss sucked, too...good thing I saved up on Vera items. I've heard things about Kingdom Hearts' Phantom, too. I killed him. You know what? The secret to this guy isn't teamwork at all. In fact, you pretty much have to strip away all the deadweight. Since the conservation of energy applies to healing spells, being divided equally between party members, anyone that isn' contributng to the battle just ends up sucking up healing power needlessly, so that hp gets low enough that everyone ends up being killed. Kill everyone else before you use the crystal, except Edge, Rosa and Cecil, when Cecil runs out of throwing weapons, have Cecil do shot for shot while Rosa heals. With just the two of them, they're an unbeatable team, full power every turn. So much for team loyalty though. Kinda an anti-climactic secret to winning the final battle though.

  11. I didn't know about that shield attack thing. I thought only the regular charged maxed out could hurt him. In any case, what I did was charge up fully in preparation to blast him, if he did that death from above attack across the screen that's really hard to avoid, I maintained my charged state, switched to that chameleon gun, or whatever it was that made you invincible, and then used that to get through the attack, then quickly switched back to the regular blaster before the attack was finished and started charging up again. I used up extra energy tanks and weapons tanks and I barely managed to get through that fight. Very tough. Other tough fights. The hard version of Andross from Star Fox 64, when he's a big brain. Vamp on extreme mode from MGS2. European extreme? I think not. He's tougher than the metal gears, even if you're fighting 20 of them, because once you get the pattern down, they're not too tough and you it goes quickly. But Vamp...too much.
  12. I wish I could say something insightful, or something at least worthy of this remix. But lacking the words, musical knowledge and additionally the fact that nearly everything has been said, I'll just give my thumbs up. It's quite well done, one of my favourites.
  13. Reminds me a little of the main score for the Truman Show.
  14. The final form of Sigma on Mega Man X was damn near impossible. you could only do damage with a maximally charged blast of your regular buster gun and you had to avoid all of his hits first. The most difficult thing you had to avoid right before there'd be an opening for attack was this death from above blast that went across the screen. You could avoid them but they were spaced so close together, and did so much damage, they wore down your life pretty quick. My strategy was to leave my gun charged up, but if he did that attack, I switched guns (without losing the charge) to this chameleon thing or something that let you turn invisible/invulnerable when you charge up, then used up my blast to do that. As soon as the attack passed me by I switched back to regular buster cannon and had just enough time to charge up and blast Sigma while he was exposed. I used all of my extra secondary weapon tanks with that strategy, and all of my life tanks too but it kept me alive long enough to finally take him down with a few life bars to spare. I don't think I'd have the patience to fight that battle properly, without using that strategy. Too long, too precise.
