Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Project Chaos - History
Rexy replied to k u n g f u c h i c k e n's topic in Projects
Well my thoughts on this are if the Competition Menu interpretation doesn't go down too well as a result for the main album I might pick up Boss 1 and try that. But still, I know a lot of people are going to squabble every single last opportunity now O_o -
Arek for the win! ...but yeah, that reminds me; maybe I should backup my first post on CoE to make sure he doesn't edit that either

OCR01448 - Final Fantasy Mystic Quest "And He Returned Home"
Rexy replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Now that the OLR thing has been brought up, I need to say that for a mix on a project for said site it just doesn't work. Sure, it's as happy as hell and shows a nice quirky touch to the original but it's just not funny/shoddiliy produced enough. The way I see it, Mystik Kwest is to OLR what Hedgehog Heaven is to OCR - nice songs, but not entirely fitting of their standards. (If anyone wants to question me about that, please tackle it by PMs. I refuse to have this topic messed up because of this.) Now for a sophomore OCR mix, the story is entirely different. For most of the time I appreciate most of the moods brought into this and much of the creative uses of the original here, and I also think that the mastering has also been given a more subtle touch than what I saw in the VGMix/OLR versions. I did mention something in my ThaSauce writeups about not interpretating the source material enough, but having finally played the game over Christmas break, I can say it took the sections and expanded on them pretty well. I think what I was meant to point out was that it didn't go beyond the two eight-bar chord sequences it used throughout, which somehow could feel disappointing for the more daring listener. But still that's okay. I know that the vox in the original were taken out as a result, and for the people that was okay, however this has yielded two side-effects for a result - minimalism, especially in the second part, and a (complete?) lack of a climax. Surely there could be something else to put in their place to make it work out just as much as the VGMix version. So yeah, while I'm a little skeptical about it reaching the site as it is, it's still a nicely done effort. I wish I could throw in my ThaSauce writeup for good measure but given that's a revision after the original rejection I don't think it'll be useful Still, nicely done on the solo effort back there. I'll still be on the lookout for you across the community and so forth. -
Even though the idea does sound interesting, I know that people are going to shoot me down for getting my vox exposed again. >.> I also saw the reaction to Pixietricks's vocal tracks for CS, which were half-positive half-ugh as far as I saw, and I seem to be a little shaken over it. Still, I *might* have a look. Is there any way you can PM the poetry to me? I'll see if I can take a look at it and see what I can do. And... I swear your name sounds familiar. Are you on DA by any chance? If you were I think you were one of the first people I watched O_o

Even though the live show was off I gave him a ring anyway, and he told me that VGF67 is up (and... c'mon, my voice wasn't that bad; at least I didn't go into chipmunk mode ), and he has also put up the chatlogs for VGFs 69-72. They should be up on Paige's server.

Yeah, I was about to give you Proph's mail address (and if all else fails there's also PMs). He even told me he was fighting a bug this past month, but I'm very optimistic that he will pull through for the album. My side of the deal is coming along okay. I should have plenty of time to work on it some more this week now that I don't have to do a damn thing in the PRC

Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Project Chaos - History
Rexy replied to k u n g f u c h i c k e n's topic in Projects
Oh no... I would say "that sucks" but still, I feel so sorry for him. I hope he'll be okay. Still, because of this I'm now concerned about what will happen to his Jipang placement on Children of Erdrick as well as some of his stuff on Kyle, Starky and Usa's projects. Whichever happens, I will pray for the best. -
Milky Way Wishes: A Kirby Super Star Tribute - History

Well I ain't too far with my proposed sketches for the copy and hammer abilities. I should be able to have them ready by the deadline I was at least given. Mind you, it's not finals that are trying their best to hold me back from my work; it's Harvest Moon >.> Still, I will be there. I promise. -
Your name's put on the mirrors list, as far as I can see Just be patient, good sir.

If I get no tech feedback concerning Eagle Tower I consider that as done compositionally. Any feedback that I do get however will be taken into consideration for the final version.

Nah, Larry's on Winter Break until Wednesday (I think). I think there's a normal schedule coming in from next Saturday onwards. While this topic is up, I remember on some show people in the chat were looking for when G.I. Joe jumped the shark. I know it's some point after episode 50, but I can't seem to remember; that thought's been bugging me for the last few days

I passed a fourth demo of Eagle Tower to Epo, however he hasn't seen my damn message yet And I passed my half of Inside the Egg to Gray. Should anything else stir up, this topic will be the first to know.

Hahaha, holy KS Cyan_Ide. As much as I want to show one of my images of the Baron, I don't really think they can match up in quality - and in some cases, seriousness - to what I showed in my initial art post. Nice try anyway. Still yeah, I'm ready for KWarp's next commands, per se. -

Haha, I was about to say if you're missing a few people on the art team I might give it a shot. I'm usually better at hand-drawn stuff than computer stuff anyways Here's some examples I've done, although they're not Kirby though. Example 1 - Crash Bandicoot "Outdoor Showers" Example 2 - Neopets "Dawn of the Mynci" Example 3 - Pinocchio "The Happy Little Puppet" I'd do anything to help a fellow coordinator -
Just out of question, are there any more deadlines yet? I hope to know that before I could work on my track a little more. And hey, if all else fails you (or someone else if you can't seem to handle the telephone for some reason or other O.o) can give it some publicity. VGF/VGDJ makes a good start, I think.

Eh, I'll be sure to whip it up fairly quickly If you need me I'm just a couple of blocks (topics?) away. */flirt*

Sir, yes sir! Thanks for the finalised date, and I'll be sure to work on it in the coming weeks
-
Also, I've finally been able to extract the MIDI data for my side to "Inside the Egg" with Gray. Just out of question, are MIDIs allowed as appropriate file types for WIP submissions?

I appreciate the feedback Starky, even though with the way this is going the January 10 deadline may not quite fully work out Still I have a few questions. When you mention something about doing more to the "dynamics" do you want me to apply a wider field of dynamics or a smaller one? And concerning the piano sound, I kept on wondering what people mean when they say it's "clinky". Nonetheless I'm restricted to Cubase SX and not much soundfonts for it out there, and whichever I used won't seem to adapt to the sustain pedal settings, which I think is real make or break over this. Still, if you're referring to a harsh attack I can soften it a few notches pretty easily. Again, thanks so far

Just out of question, did you receive Eagle Tower from me last night, Epo? If not I could PM you the link again

Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Project Chaos - History
Rexy replied to k u n g f u c h i c k e n's topic in Projects
While I may not guarantee the MP3 that you finalised (as you had the wav files I gave to you to help balance out the bass levels), I can still be able to bring back the couple of wavs needed if the procedure in the brackets had to be redone. Nonetheless, sorry to hear about the crash, dude. -
Now that's given me something to do next Saturday night; transcribe my (caffeinated and moderately drunk respectively) calls from #63 and #64. OverCoat is right; you americans need to watch more Monty Python flicks

Because Gray has obviously been missing in action since the track between us was chosen, the interpretation of Inside the Egg hasn't been started yet. I know, that's kinda disappointing but I'm sure we can get something set in the coming month. I will at least finish up my Eagle Tower material this week. That, I can easily assure. Thank God for returning to campus.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Project Chaos - History
Rexy replied to k u n g f u c h i c k e n's topic in Projects
I am sure that it will get mentioned. The closest project I know that doesn't have much relating to the game specifically in its title is "Rise of the Star"; while it does indeed fit well for Kirby, the use of rising stars could fall under various other game categories too. And yet when that got released there definitely was a giant picture of Kirby and a mention of it being a Kirby's Adventure project. So I am sure that when Project Chaos gets release, there will be a big picture of Sonic and/or Knuckles and a mention of Sonic 3 & Knuckles. ok now?
