Damnit Robbie, of all the times you wowed us on the vocal front in the past you're STILL seeking for secret weapons? xD This I gotta see come tomorrow - really looking forward to hear it! (I guess my only guess on that front is a "You Can Do Anything" cameo, but that's probably a way off )
-
You got me wondering - if the Robotnik (Eggman) bracket is all pancakes... then how old were the eggs before you put them in the pancake batter?
-
Geez Bobby, the music in that video sounds like it could've EASILY . Seriously, like what?! o_O()
-
Meh, you pancakes need to stop leaving your gunk all over the ceiling. And I consider myself doing good. I've got the bulk of the arrangement down, one version saved in Cubase with my usual soundbank and another saved as a MIDI, both on my external drive. So even if my laptop goes down in a blaze of pixelated glory, I am on great form so far.
-
Let's say that if he took part, it would probably be faster than yours.
-
Well, I've written down the structure of the arrangement on paper, so I've got something to work with. However, mega slowdowns in the past 12 hours. First with WillRock's stream ( ), then with my laptop this morning giving me that lovely message of "A disc read error has occurred, please press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart". I got it going within 5 minutes though and used it now to form the basis of the track's groove, and will remember to keep backing up to external storage, but damn, I'll be happier if I send something in; losing to DusK won't matter in perspective o_O
-
If Dusk wants to send me on the road to twilight, so be it. I'm going to find the road to dawn. Good luck! x)
-
Dude, remember that we don't have the Lizard vs Pancake thing until RIGHT AT THE END. We just got to find our most appropriate candidates first.
-
Or at least, it should be when your birthdays come up, you two. Have a good one! And damnit, being branched with the lizards, I don't know when I'll stop with the Gex references >_>
-
Well, tech support gave the lappy a good clean. And now, Saturday's matchups are soon to be seen. But you rhymers better up your game in the long run, In case you go against Akumajo in round one.
-
I'm not a coward, I'm just trying to be fair. And even if that's the case, I'll still take the laptop in to a guy at work and see what he makes of it. I'll indeed be cautious about this and see what goes on. o_O
-
Well, I started it up this morning, and aside from any faint fizzles coming from the works, I actually didn't sense any issues with the boot's performance for once. I still have Cakewalk (my main MIDI tool), Cubase and all my samples backed up, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem either (though some are that big they may not even be installed on any backup systems and I may need to resort to freebies; not a problem, I could always ask Jason Covenant for some pointers). But I'm going to have to be more cautious than ever, and that means immediately saving to external storage when done. I'll run a scandisc some point later, but let's say it here; in spite of the mishaps, I'm going to be a brave lizard and stick with the Sonic bracket. There will always be a way to something as unexpected as this - they don't call me Rexy for nothing x)

Well, mostly it comes from booting up the PC. Sometimes I hear a whistle coming from the HD. When that happens, the screen would then freeze: Enter one of those painful hard resets, geez. There was also one situation yesterday, When powering it on, there was only a black display. Panicked as I was, I turned it off and on; Thank God the laptop's life wasn't quite gone. But in all those scenarios, there's one thing in common: When it says "Starting Windows", it stays there too long. And now I'm in fear for the next major bump, And that there is the story of my laptop's slump. >_>

Well, that's what I was like when it was emerged that Michael Jackson worked on Sonic 3. I was in denial for some time, thinking that there was no way that someone as A) eventually jerkish, and high-prolific would just work on music for a videogame, though I did understand the similarities later. So if in a situation like Yuzo Koshiro ripping game music from other places, it'll be just like me with Bobby Prince's Doom music - wanting to check out the originals, and just seeing the Streets of Rage score as a fun attempt to emulate it, all before getting the juges' panel to re-assess the SoR score and its stance as acceptable source material. That's where the logic comes in. But yes, the original uploader surely didn't have a clue. I sent a couple of comments there, but he thinks it's no different from "stealing other peoples' videos", when I have seen people getting their accounts suspended for things like that. >_> I've done all I can to respond as calmly as possible, but if this guy takes it into an asshole-ish attitude like with Geoffrey Taucer, then god forbid what would happen next.
-
Well, I definitely appreciate the idea Matt. However, my dad must be somewhat of a prat: He thinks the problem is a congested HD drive, Which I resolved by freeing 30GB... plus five. But I don't think this'll solve much, And I believe he's been talking double dutch. He's got me to answer to this time next week, Should my lappy stay here, and its maker it meets.
-
Yes, be sure to get used to our britishisms in here. Going to be nuts! But with 72 hours left, i actually am in a pickle. I have had continued problems with my laptop and may get to the point that it may be in the hands of a pc repairer by tomorrow night. Frankly i can still try and write music with someone else's laptop, but what fears me is being shunned stylistically because of any degraded production, or worse, not having anything at all. I'm really worried about this now; could anyone offer a lizard a few pointers? :-S

The Final Fantasy VI Remix Contest: Results are in, check first post!!!

Otakatt, I just LOVE your attitude to the whole process. This is what we artists have got to keep doing, keep learning and prospering. To be fair, I had my panicky moments in the past 24 hours, thinking "how the hell am I supposed to win over zircon and/or the voting public", but I feel very calm with those words and want to give it my all. And with my production skills having gone up tenfold within the past 5 years or so, what can possibly go wrong? -
Well if you want something from me, trash talk doesn't work at all in regards to myself or making my music feel better than it is. So instead, I shall follow a more literal definition and creep on everyone when they're asleep, and pour the contents of their trash cans on their heads. And there we go; the bin men for this week can go home early because you're covered in your own filth.

I'm SO gonna give this a go -
I'm still remembering the time where Flexstyle credited Jason as "Prophecy" in his second track for WCRG. And yet, that still was accepted. But oddities aside, I'll be sure to keep to the formats. You can trust me
-
So you're saying I could still write the arrangement out as a MIDI, and get someone else outside of the compo to do an MP3 render? Not saying that I'll actually do that mind but this may end up being an option in the event that my laptop breaks down during the competition and I'd be unable to get it repaired/replaced in time. Anyone who follows me on Facebook or sees me hanging around the #ocremix IRC may know what I'm talking about.

Indeed, there's too much Chemical Plant coverage around here surprisingly. Though in regards to Sonic 2 love, I'm pretty sure Phonetic Hero will do wonders with Hill Top. That is one tricky source to go in regards to content, but I'm sure he can do it too
-
Well, I've got 15 provisional directions going on for depending on who I'm matched up with. Like with Plant Man for the WCRG, I have a tendancy to pick sources that are fun, catchy, don't have too much going on and are under-represented on OCR; so hopefully this will turn out a good treat.

Looks like both sides needs an inspirational poster to get them to do their best. For the Sonic guys: And the Robotnik Side:
