  1. Okay, so I've got a problem. I'm experimenting with the 3xOsc. I've got a tune down (It's a Bach invention) and it sounds pretty good. So I export to WAV, and compress to mp3. Now, the problem is that the mp3 sounds bad... even though I'm using VBR. There's a sort of rumbling, knocking sound you can hear while the track plays. I think it's coming from the one channel I have that is acting as the bass. I've tried tweaking it by lowering the volume, adjusting the Oscillators, but it still sounds bad. Any tips?
  2. Hey, I found out what types of analog are/were used by this one band: Roland System 100 model 101, 102, 103, 104, 109 Roland Space Echo 201. So... if you know what those are like then you know what I'm looking for.
  3. I'm looking for good samples (or soundfonts... I really don't know the difference yet, but if it works in FL I'm good ) of good analog synths... I've listened to music using those old analog synths, and I really dig it... I think it'd be cool to emulate that in a remix...
  4. DarkeSword has just gotten better and better. This mix proves it. I'd go as far as to say that it's flawless. Ace!
  5. I didn't really care for this mix. Not really because of the instruments used, but simply because of the clashing to the two songs. HyroCity happens to be my favorite Sonic tune (Particularly Act 2) and I just don't think it goes well with the Metropolis Zone theme. (Not a favorite of mine, although I like the S2Beta version better, which I think I heard hints of in this mix) I think I would have liked it better if this was just a straight Metropolis or HydroCity mix.
  6. One of my fav. Sonic mixes of all time. It sounds so simple, but it's not. Just awesome. I just wish that it could perhaps be redone with better sound quality.
  7. Yes, great remix. 'Nuff said. Yes, in fact, the music for Lava Reef Zone Act 2 and the Hidden Palace Zone is the same. (The Stage Select in the game lists HPZ as "Lava Reef Act 4", too)
  8. I think I would have to break the flow and say "I don't really like this mix." I can't really put my finger on it, but I think it's just not my cup o' tea. It might be because it's slow. I do know that I never really cared for the original piece to begin with, and I know that's part of my dislike. I do recognize a good mix when I hear one, so I do recommend this song.
  9. I was hesitant to download it because it was another IceCap mix... but I'm glad I did. It's a welcome sound after 4 techno mixes of the same song. I noticed that right away! I thought 'Gee, that sounds a lot like Lava Reef.' Then I realized it was probably intentional, hence the 'Hot Ice'. Umm... yes, I've noticed that. Always have. I think it's so noticed that no one bothers to talk about it. They've also done that in the Advanced games too. It's pretty nifty. (Although Game Boy tunes aren't nearly as enjoyable to listen to)
  10. It's very interesting. The only thing keeping me from loving it, as it has been mentioned, is that it's so slow and... empty... at times. It does sound more like background music than something you would listen to by itself. I'm still liking it, I'll keep it. (It takes a lot for me not to like a song anyway) EDIT: I remembered wise words I heard once - - so I did and I'm loving it! The bass seems so much cooler. I recommend listening to this one with the volume up high.
  11. I have to agree with everything there! Well, maybe except 'best Sonic mix' because I have a couple other favorites as well. But this one rocks. That's all there is to say about it. There are also various (good) volume levelers you can download to lower the volume. I only did to make the volume of my collection of Sonic mixes more consistent. Other than that, it's fine with me.
  12. This is a just simply a great piece. Not much more to say than that. It's something that makes you wanna dance. And from a non-dancer like myself, that is saying a lot.
  13. I really didn't like it either...I really don't see anything so remixable in the Azure Lake Zone.
  14. I especially like all the funky sound effects near the end, also... Very cool. Melody has enough variety for me.
  15. Yeah, I like that effect...it's good for like drums coming into a song, or incoming melodies...ooh, that sounds cool! Incoming melody!
  16. Just wondering...there's this cool effect in lots of dance/techno music where a sound goes from kinda muffled to distinct, and then muffled again. I'm not sure what it's called, and that's my best discription of it. Can you do that in FL?
