OCR01404 - Secret of Mana "Dragon Song"
Mordicantflame replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Comments/ReviewsI'm going to be very sorry if this makes me sound obsessive but I have to say that this is my favorite song ever. Honestly, to me, it doesn't compare to any other song I've heard in my lifetime because it moved me. Everytime I listen to this song the dueling between the beautiful Spanish-like guitar and piano melody just make me feel so relaxed. The percussion is very well balanced and not overbearing, which is great and amazing to me because I've always had problems making percussion match the music mood. The singing in this is fantastic and very convincing because I sense emotion behind it, the same yearning that matches the lyrics very very well. Very rarely do I hear an amateur song with convincing vocals. I think the composer should be VERY proud of this piece because they've touched at least one person in this world.

OCR00214 - Lunar: The Silver Star "Singing Pretzel"
Mordicantflame replied to m68030's topic in ReMix Comments/ReviewsWait a minute, that wasn't so bad. Actually the singing pitches were very well controlled in the song. The beginning of song turned out very nice too, in my opinion, the best part of the song. It had a nice soft atmosphere to it. The singing did become a little repetitious, but that was because of the song's tune itself. Yeah, it is kind of a difficult song to sing to, but the effort was admirable. So a pat on the back for djpretzel. ho ho ho
Wow, I was really impressed with this remix. It does such a great job mixing "Sleigh Ride" and the Super Mario World themes into one real smooth job. I mean, how many people could have successfully pulled of this remix? Heh, great christmas tune, guys. Just listening to it put a dumb grin on my face. Perhaps it was just the absurd combination. Anyways. Two thumbs up, definately recommended. Sweeeeeet!
