  1. The chanting was in the Fire Temple. It sounds like the music in the newer versions, but the voice sounds more like a Muslim chant rather than a low, growling type of thing.

If I remember correctly, a few of the symbols in the Spirit Temple, Gerudo Fortress and on the Mirror Shield were all changed due to similarities to the Muslim crescent moon (or whatever it is).

  2. So I was playing Monkey Ball last night and I quit the game with the Home button. As soon as I get back to the wii channels menu, i realize the controller isnt working. every time i hit any button, all 4 blue lights just keep flashing.

I figured it was the batteries since I hadn't changed them yet, so I did that. Same results. I resync the controller , same results. I change the batteries again, same results, resync the controller again , same.

I have insurance on my console since I got a bundle from Toys R Us, but before I send it for repair I wanted to see if anyone is familiar with this problem, and if there might be something I'm missing.

    Thanks in advance.

Take the batteries out of the controller and leave them out for a good 5 minutes. After you put the batteries back in, start up the Wii by pressing the Power button on the console itself, then hold it's sync button for about 20 seconds. Then press the sync button on the Wiimote and see if that works.

  3. 230 blocks, or rougly 45MB according to Kwarp's post.

I know that doesn't seem like a lot now, but we're only a month into the console's life. That 512MB is going to be eaten up fast if we aren't allowed to use other storage methods.

  4. Boo on Nintendo then...this browser takes up too much space, no matter how much functionality is added to it. For christ sake, just let us use our SD cards and USB hard drives how they're intended. Hackers are going to do it if you don't anyway.

  5. I can't get my Opera Browser freak on. Wii Shop Channel seems to be playing up. It's past midday on the 22nd for me, so it should be up, right?

Then again, I'm having major DNS issues here down under. Half the sites I just tried to visit are failing to load. That could have something to do with it.

That or the overwhelming demand for operatic wii.

I heard it's up in some places, not exactly sure where though. It's definetly not up here in the US yet.

  6. I still hate the spinner though, that item needs to go die in a fire

I still don't understand why you hate it so much - it's extremely original, if moderately underused.

It's not original by a longshot (pun not intended) - it's a fucking skateboard for crying out loud.

Eh, I liked it. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it became nearly useless after the fourth dungeon.

  7. I'd much rather watch streaming video on my Wii than on my PC to be honest. Other than that, I don't see much reason to browse the net on Wii over PC. Still, I'd like to see improved download speeds at some point.

And even if each region shared the same servers, the Shop Channel shouldn't be as slow as it is. There is almost nothing to it's interface.

  8. Actually, a miniscule amount of RAM will affect download speeds, since it affects the speed of everything else in the system (and we all know the Wii isn't built for speed). Also, whatever cache the Wii may have would have to be stored in the RAM since there just isn't a lot of internal storage. That's why I'm worried that when Opera comes out, the system is going to be very slow while browsing due to a lack of (or a very little) cache.

I doubt it's busy servers because the speed always seems the same to me no matter what time of day I go to the Shop Channel.
