  1. The only truly game-breaking glitch that I can remember from a Nintendo game was in Metroid Prime 3 where if you save in a certain room after a certain event a door wouldn't let you out of where you were supposed to be. And Nintendo immediately was like 'hey don't save here' and it was never a problem again.

Do you know if they fixed it in Metroid Prime Trilogy? : (

I'm playing all three for the first time.

  2. Kiddies are people too. They want games also.

You don't stroll into KFC looking to buy a taco salad. Sometimes alienating your base for the sake of "expanding your market" is a terrible move and it backfires (you've seen it outside of gaming, too).

  3. It's okay.

...and before it gets too far, let's just put out there that this whole site is derived from creating something new from something old. Sampling != plagiarism, even though to plagiarize you must sample.

For giggles, go to http://www.whosampled.com. Wonderful resource to lead you to a song's sample source. You might even buy the original (I'm looking at YOU, "Rigor Mortis" by Cameo!)

  4. It's actually easier to try it and dislike vs. paragraphing all the reasons to assume it won't be liked without trying.

Or you can go with what Bleck said, and call it a day. It's a respectable stance.

    ...but that's just me.

In any case I'm restarting from scratch. My default players the first go around were kind of lame and I've got a feel for how Mandalia Plains goes now (you're in the clear if you get a battle with one theif, one goblin, and no tonberry). Trial and error also teaches which techniques to invest my JP in. Good thing potion and Phoenix Down are free to learn!

Melee looked fine and Brawl was more the fault of the art direction trying to be more realistic, where Mario and Zelda have always looked best with a more stylized look.

    Humbug.

I'm also noticing that Mario is getting angrier and angrier with each passing Smash Bros...

He's angry because he's still yet to receive a neck.

  6. Because after playing the game for 15 years and mastering every character in every skill (yes, even summoners), the game left only a couple of challenges outside of the Deep Dungeon. And despite it probably being my 2nd favorite game the only thing left to try in it are self imposed challenges like sending 2 or 3 characters in Bariaus Hill or Finath River alone (I was on the tail end of Chapter 4 in a newly started game to test that theory...again, when I heard about v1.3). I've beaten the game 2 or 3 times, but I usually never bother to. I just run around the land going to Finath, Bariaus, and DD.

So for me the overall enjoyment of FFT never left but the challenge of it lost teeth. This patch is the denture set... a vampire fang-sized denture set.

  7. I love nerds.

And a well determined, slightly sadistic nerd called Archael7 has created a patch for Final Fantasy Tactics as well as its PSP "War of the Lions" counterpart.

Fair warning: the host site is called "Insane Difficulty" and that is not an exaggeration.

15 years later, the original Final Fantasy Tactics still has juice.

    This patch spikes the juice.

    Enjoy!

  8. I wasn't born during the time NES was big.

roffle. I feel old as heck, now.

I knew this day would come.

"Back in my day sonny, we had only two controllers with ONE analog stick, no D-pad, and one button... and we liked it!!"

  9. The only issue here is Digital Distro is already here on other platforms like Steam/iOS/Android/etc or heck, PS3/PSPGo. They have none of these restrictions. Why is MS making everything so extremely inconvenient?

    Because they:

    A. want to fail

    B. all of the above

    C. trust that enough 12-14 year old boys (who consider PS2 to be old-school gaming) will have mothers who have never heard of DRM or Orwell

    D. IT'S A TRAP!
