  1. I'm down. We should meet in Indianapolis! I think we have laser tag or some shit somewhere here?? Now you all want to come.
If you guys do this, I'm in. Or Chicago. Maybe. My girlfriend's been dying to go there for a while now. That's quite the trip for me, though.

Not only that, but we've got duckpin bowling near Fountain Square!

Objectively, I'd say Chicago IF at least one or two people planning to attend were Chicagoland residents. Getting lost in a major city during an OCR meetup because you guide has been rushed to the ER really sucks...um.. I've heard. Frankly, Chi-town has more to offer culturally.

Subjectively, I'd say Cedar Point. It = win.

Practically, I could only do something here in Indy and therefore propose a meetup to coincide with Gen-Con the weekend of August 18th. Anime, gaming, laser tag, duckpin bowling, AND a remixer town. What more do you need?

...I still never got to meet McVaffe. Stupid squirrels : (

  2. Depends on what they're rapping about. Music and lyrics are tools that can build or destroy. I can use a hammer to build you a house or bludgeon your head in. Beauty is subjective, though. [/offtopic]

Krayzie Bone ripped off the music from Mortal Kombat 3's continue screen for his 1999 album. I'll have to dig out the track name when at home...

  3. What would be the implications to satire/parody television shows and records (I.e. SNL, Daily Show, Leno/Letterman/Conan/Kimmel, Weird Al, MAD magazine, The Onion, 8-Bit Theater, etc.) It's reaching for the Internet, but would a SOPA/PIPA law brush past other mediums also? I haven't examined the legislation.

  4. Give it time. I remember a discussion in 3rd grade after someone saw Back to the Future II where Elijah Wood mocks Marty McFly for playing a video game with his hands. That was 1988 portraying 2015. Now it's 2010 and we've got EyeToy and Kinetic. The technology is curving fast.

Give it seven or ten years and some poor schmoe will be suing Capcom because he broke his neck trying to do a flash kick on the motion-capture 1st person "Super Duper Street Fighter V.II Turbo 4th Strike RHD Remix...in 3D!" (Smell-O-Vision will be a Nintendo exclusive option).

  5. **Original post = MATT!

    Ayuda me por favor?

  6. <3 .spc's.

    Trying all this stuff now.

The only really cool thing I've found in messing around with them is in Fight Against An Armed Boss in smrpg, mute all but channel 4.

    :D

It's like a sampled drum loop (it's also in SMRPG's "Yo'ster Isle" channel 3, except broken up here and there).

Same deal as DKC 2 Funky Kong channel 1.

You can tell because changing the tempo doesn't affect the channel except to mess up the timing of loop; but changing the pitch alters the pitch AND tempo.

How do they squeeze those into the a 65kb .spc? (<< rhetorical question. Attempts to actually explain technical details will profit me no understanding).

    Find more ".spc drumloops"!

Any future remix of these two songs must contain a brief sample of those...samples.
