  1. Yo, I've been playing piano for about 11 1/2 years. I was trained in classical up until a year or two ago, but I dabble in things like rock, jazz, video game music, more contemporary stuff, etc. I can play by ear pretty well.

I have a pretty decent recording setup now. M-Audio Delta 66 i/o box, Alesis 12 channel mixer, two M-Audio Solaris condenser mics, and a medium grand Baldwin piano.

If you wanna hear some of my playing, you can go here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/7/mikuonpianomusic.htm

I haven't really recorded/uploaded much in the way of technically difficult stuff up there, but the most recently uploaded track there (Reminiscence, new stereo recording) is a decent representation of the sound quality of recordings I'm capable of currently (aside from the clipping).

Can't say I'm proficient in every style of playing, but if you need my help I'll do my best.

EDIT: Just noticed, Silverwolf, on your soundclick site, it says "Prelude in Eb" but isn't it E?

P.S. Nice playing. I like that piece. ^_^ Although the fade-out at the end was kinda a let down. =(

We might need someone else to perform tracks for the FFT Piano Collections Project(in the Site Projects forum). bladiator's going to take care of quite a few but if we had a second to balance out the workload, it'd be nice.

  2. I'm re-working a recently rejected mix(here) and am looking for someone to do the guitar live. AIM works best for me with regards to working things out. I should also note that there's one chord that's not really possible on a normally tuned guitar; in fact, the low note of it is a Bb I think, and I don't think detuning the strings is gonna work for it. Anyway, so if anyone wants to help with this, you know where to reach me.

  3. VGFs 30-34 are now up on Bittorrent. Thank AP for hosting the tracker: http://ap.zapto.org:6969/stats.html?info_hash=a3cf7168e62de3ecca628d0c30eef7f24adab248

I'm gonna be seeding for another 4 hours tonight, and probably a 6-12 pm time window for however long it takes to get some other seeders set up. Point your client to whatever folder you keep your VGFs in; you should be able to just get the ones you're missing. Now, time for gravy.

  4. When i try to start the 1001-1250 torrent into my existing OCR folder, I get the following:

trouble accessing files [Errno 13] Permission denied: 'C:\\My Music\\Game Music\\OCR\\'

However, it runs fine if I point it to a new folder. Any idea what the problem is? I've got DSL so downloading the 43 mixes that I've already got out of the increment is no big deal, but it worries me that it'll run to any folder EXCEPT that one.

  5. I need a woodblock, one that can sound good in about a 2 octave range.

i do believe there were some fonts at hammersound...

It says there's some on the index page but when you click on the link there isn't any on the sub-page. Four pages of google and I couldn't find one that wasn't either a broken link or a proprietary format.

I guess I could use one from a GM soundfont. Recommendations?

  6. Well, if you can get voice actors lined up, and maybe find someone else with Maya, I might be able to do some CG work sometime next summer. (We've got quite a few things in the pipeline right now, but Escape's only going to take 2-3 months and the other stuff can be spread out over a year or so.)

  7. Well, I can't call-in during the show(due to having teh dial-up) but is it possible for me to give a call-in during the week sometime and do an interview that way? This is for a few weeks down the road, I want to pimp out some of the projects I've got going on.

  8. We need someone with a relatively large vehicle(enough to carry 2-3 people + their stuff) that lives along the I-95 corridor somewhere north of baltimore interested in going down to crash VGF some weekend. You'd have to leave early enough on friday to get to baltimore around 2pm, then down to tennessee to pick up EdgeCrusher, then from there to VGF-Land. I'd pitch in about 40 bucks for gas & such, that should cover most of the gas for my segment of the trip(assuming a fairly high MPG vehicle...if it's a gas guzzler I'm still only putting in 40 bucks).

This would probably have to be done this semester sometime, since I'm taking a lot of evening classes for the spring semester and I wouldn't be pick-uppable until 9pm or later, meaning we'd arrive down there sometime around daylight, I think. Not exactly sure how far it is down there, but it's pretty far.

  9. Larry's uploading #30 to my webspace now, for anyone that didn't get it(myself included).

If anyone else still needs #29.99, reply now/soon. I'm taking it down tomorrow night.

Escape: The Movie needs one or a couple of people to do the soundtrack for it. It's not much, maybe half a dozen tracks at most. (Thread here.)

  10. Well, he's usually got something on loop in the background between mixes...and there's usually more than enough remix material to fill out the show.

Well I have a game soundtrack coming out very soon (a matter of a fortnight) and I'm hoping that LT will do me the honour of playing a few select pieces from it over a couple of weeks. That's pretty much original and designated to the OCR community.

I'm sure you just have to ask; I got a track played from Xerol's Quest a few weeks before the end of the season.

  11. including a quick Final Fantasy crystal theme reference.

Not quite, actually. Here's the section of music you're talking about:

loyalties.gif(That purple note on the left is the mouse cursor, in Finale.)

So while it's similar, it's not really the FF Crystal theme. (Actually, it's the XQ Crystal theme. You heard it in Call of the Crystals briefly.) [/shameless advertising]

  12. Well, that's why I said I hoped the files matched up. Like with the OCR Torrents, existing identical files count as already being there; anyone with the existing mp3s that match up would be able to host the file they already had downloaded and we would end up with a few seeds to start out with, at least for some episodes.

  13. after parts 2 and 3 of the FF7 Symphonic Suite didn't make it onto the site

When did this happen? Does anyone have any links to these, I'm interested in finding them.

BT Update: I'm going to get my own webspace sometime this summer, probably by the end of June, so I'll have the BT tracker up for sure by July 7th.

Hopefully the episodes that people already have will match up. Let me know if you've got a large collection and you're willing to seed so this can get started pretty quickly once the tracker gets up and running.

  14. Damnit, Larry! Why'd you have to wait and release the post-show until after I lose internet access? Can I get it from someone in August?

If I(or someone else) can get the BT Tracker up and running, they'll all be available for quite a while.

Apparently what happened was we set up the mySQL database shortly after setting up the website, and we forgot what the username and password were. (Last minute edit: We may have figured it out.)
