  1. yeah. It would be nice to be able to do something like that myself (sound effects) I'm still learning. I'm in College too, or university as we canadians call it. I'm trying to write up a Inorganic Chem lab as we 'type'. It's not going well. And I still can't think of a name for the Second Movement!!! lol Ryan
  2. Thanks for the comments. I'm kinda busy with school right now so I'm not gonna be able to put much work into this for a little while. I was waiting for someone to comment on that. Rammfan87, you're close, very close. Actually I cheated. I'm not sure if what I did is fround upon but what I did was sample a series of sound effects right out of a movie and added some of my own bits to it (with a bit more to be added soon). The movie was actually Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. But yeah, if this kind of sampling is 'bad' or whatever, someone let me know. The stuff is not really music but just sound effects I thought would build the mood. I Love how creepy it is!!! NOW, if you can guess what the last bit is based on I'll really be surprised!! Ryan

  4. Note original Post date: 02-10-2007 I finally finished it!!! New post date: 03/22-2010 *REVISIT* Separated Version: Part I: Don't Look Back! http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01872/ Part II: Beyond the Point of No Return! I had to re-visit the second part of the Plumber's Bane Saga lol. I had to change out the ending to something video game related... so I picked NSMBW.. New ending: New Super Mario Bros. Wii - End of World Castle Ryan
  5. I need to get your opinions on an idea I have for this song. I was thinking that I could make this song into a two movement piece, splitting the song at about the 5:00 mark. The first part can definitly stand on its own and the second part could do so also with a bit more work. This would fix the problem with size and over all length, but still keep it as though the two halfs belong together. I would also release the song as one single intity on a vgmix when they finally get on the go. It's just a thought. What do you think? As for the using sounds from many games, In truth I concider this a NewSMB remix with bits from other games thrown in to spice it up. FYI, I have added a bit around the 6:46-6:59 mark that incorperates music from 3 mario games all at the same time. It's gonna be nuts! Ryan
  6. Well, the working title is "Plumber's Bane". This may change if I can think of something better. As for the size, This is not the final version, not by a long shot. I'll render the thing smaller for the final version. Thanks for the praise guys! Ryan
  7. Damn, I really like this. Can't wait till it's done. Only a couple of sudjestions though: I would love to hear more of that organ; It needs (in my mine anyway) to play something in the 1:24-1:37 section. Actually in the same section there is "something" missing. In the orginal, there is a high whistle-type sound that plays a variation of 4 notes 3 times followed by a variation of the ending (sorry my terminalogy sucks, just listen to the original i'm sure you will hear it). Maybe you could have your organ play some variation of those missing notes (if they are there, I can't hear them, lol). Other then that, make it longer and it's awesome. Ryan PS. do you mind if i ask what is the source for that organ sample? Thanx!
  8. Bowser's Theme? hummm never thought of that.. It does sound cool. I will see how it works. I started the song in 4/4 time, I might as well finish in it. And thanx for the Squirrel Outta Hell love. I hope to officially release the second version of SOH when VGMIX gets on it's feet again. (It was rejected here, sounds to much like the original, which is kinda true). Thanx Ryan
  9. Please see new thread! http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=7557 This one can be removed if someone knows how! Ryan
  10. Hey. Just so you guys know the old, quiet version of the song has been replaced by a new (and I hope improved) remastered song on this site. So you should re-download if you find the original to quiet. Thanks Ryan
  11. For all you guys who said the volume was to low (and i thought the same thing but didn't know how to fix it properly at the time) I have created a Remastered version of Battle of the Hylian Hero. http://www.tindeck.com/audio/my/3pq5g I will try and contact someone in charge to get the one on this site swapped with this one, if thats possible. (If you know who that is let me know! lol) Cheers
  12. Those clicks.. lol They are apart of the bass strings. You hear the same thing more clearly at 2:29-2:49. Oh the Bells are in there but kinda (totally) buried. See, I need mastering help lol. RH
  13. My first song on OCRemix. Me So Happy . I just want to add one comment: I appologise for the low volume. There is a reason for it though, and thats my inexperience when it comes to mastering. Basically I wanted the part from 4:38-4:45 to be a little to alot more powerful then the rest of the song and sadly the only way that seemed to happen for me was by making it louder then the rest. If I increased the amplitude of the waveform anymore, that section of the song suffers serious distortion. SO if anyone wants to give me some pointers in mastering (compression, limiting, etc) drop me a line. BTW, I have a second song (thou this one is an older song with a slightly different style) that should be entering the judging panel soon. Wish me luck on that one. It's called "Pyramids of the Koopahari Desert (Lost in the Dunes)". It's not the same version that was on VGMIX.com Thanx I'll Have to check out the Batman Returns OST. Saw the movie (loved it) but was so into it I never paided a whole lot of attention to the score, which is strange for me! Edit: Ok I listened to a bit of Batman Begins OST. Nice, I like it. I can sorta here the similarities to parts of BOTHH. But to me the string work sounds a hell of a lot like what he (Hans Zimmer) did later on The DaVinci Code OST. Actually, I am trying to come up with a way to emulate that "bouncy" string arrangment he used in "Chevaliers de Sangreal", within a SMB3 song.. may work, may not. Random Hero
  14. Just wanna say this is probably the best song I've downloaded in a long while (from anywhere). I just bought OoT last weekend (yes I know , I am usually 10 years behind the times when i comes to video games ). I really love this piece. Cheers Random Hero
