Death Mountain March - Zelda - LTTP
Random Hero replied to Random Hero's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
glad u guys liked it... it was actually someone elses remix that gave me the idea for this one... But yeah, when u slow down the death mountain theme.. INSTANT EMPIRE!!! hahaha -
NEW VERSION: Little more punchy!! haha What can I say, I like John Williams' work, and I often hear parallels between his music and video game music. And I like to sometime bring out this similarities. Please note that this will not be submitted as it is way to much like the original material but it is a bit of fun for zelda/star wars fans. It's still rough.. but still fun! (i think so anyway). If you couldn't figure it out, it's a mix of Death Mountain and the Imperial March/Vader's Theme from star wars, But i'm sure most got that right away. Ryan

I Stumbled on to these lyrics that Rampaging-Poet wrote for "Forbidden Memory" and posted on deviantart.com: Ancient place, distant time, it feels so familiar A marble hall, I sense I've been here before Is it a dream I had long ago? A dream... I stand all alone now, no one Comes to walk by my side But where am I As I walk through the night So clear? Ancient place I'm in, it seems not long gone Distant time, I feel I've been here before A vision thought forgotten Of a time long ago Marble hall, where I spent Those long lonely years Was it real? The cold, The pain and the tears? This hidden palace where I Wait on my own? A basalt maze and granite bars To hold me down beneath the stars A wondrous place, a gilded cage 'Gainst the barricade I rage. Someday I'll be free As the breezes Someday, I will be there Standing there by your side Your side... Am I here and trapped by my destiny? Am I there and lost in my memory? Was it a dream in memory's guise? Did I escape to azure skies? Was I ever stuck within that world With nobody to hear me? All alone in that hidden place With nobody to hold me. Notes: List of times the verses/stanzas come in: 1st: 49 seconds 2nd: 1 minute, 23 seconds 3rd: 1 minute, 47 seconds 4th: 2 minutes, 10 seconds 5th: 2 minutes, 34 seconds 6th: 4 minutes, 20 seconds 7th: 5 minutes, 20 seconds you can find the original post here: http://rampaging-poet.deviantart.com/art/Forbidden-Memory-100950608 I thought it was neat. Random Hero replied to Random Hero's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Here is an update (thou it is a few days old now). NEW TITLE: The Party's on the Top Floor I put a new "transition" in there.. and I guess Booster installed a elevator too... I think the volume was lowered on this version, but I'm still in the compsition phase, to little post production is done yet. And I think my hi hat dies in last section.. odd.. Oh well Ryan -

I don't have a video, but I have, for all my songs, a lot of the early version of the mix. Like for Battle of the Hylian Hero, I have 30 version of the song, starting with the original concept, which lead into a techno version, then to the Star Wars-esque version and so on. It's actually fun to go back and listen and see how far the track came over the period of 4 months.

Zelda OOT+Link's Awakening WIP
Random Hero replied to Random Hero's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Thanx for the advise guys. Nice Reviews! I had some technical difficulties with my sequencer file, damn thing began to crash randomly. But I've managed to completely salvage what I had done. My problem now is that My computer can in no longer handle the song. . My system is old to say the least and it is in dire need of a replacement/upgrade. Until then, there will be little progress made on this song. I'm hoping that a simple ram upgrade will help substancially. I only have 512MB at the moment and regularly use 1500MB+ just to load the instruments. ... UGH Ryan -
Hey Title: When the Dreamer Awakens (The Legend of Koholint Island) Just imagine a large group of kids gathered around Zelda, during a time when it is actually peaceful in Hyrule, as she tells them the tale of Koholint Island. That's basically what this song is about. It starts off with a 'minor' version of Zelda's lullaby which was heavily inspired by 'Across the Star' from Star Wars, Ep II. This is where Zelda begins the tale. Then it goes into the Face Shrine theme as the story begins to unfolds. From there into The level 6 theme, back to a choral version of the Face Shrine and finally, to the Color Cave theme (DX version). This rather evil ending takes the story in a different direction and more or less shows the horror of the Island and it's inhabitants fading into nothingness. Then we return to Zelda as she concludes the story, another part which was inspired by 'Across the Star' from Star Wars, Ep II. I know this is rather elaborate, but that's what I wanted to convey with this song. The song itself is still not finished, but it is getting there. Here it is: All comments welcome Later RR

Love this.. very percussive.... Strangely The first thing to come to mind when I heard this was the opening parts of Star Trek - Nemesis, But since you mentioned Jerry Goldsmith as an influence, I understand why.. Great piece of work here! -
Hey, My brother mention a song I re-worked last year called "Mary, Did You Know". Here it is. It's pretty bare mostly because it was used at the Christmas Eve service at our church and my mom sang the lyrics (I didn't record the lyrics though, Mom wouldn't let me). It's kinda slow and sounds kinda sad, almost made one of my friends cry (true story). Let me know what you think. Ryan Edit: If anyone wants to record the lyrics, that sounds good to me! (Kinda religious, I know. But the music is nice... lol) Lyrics: Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water? Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters? Did you know that your Baby Boy has come to make you new? This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you. Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy will give sight to a blind man? Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy will calm the storm with His hand? Did you know that your Baby Boy has walked where angels trod? When you kiss your little Baby you kissed the face of God? The blind will see. The deaf will hear. The dead will live again. The lame will leap. The dumb will speak The praises of The Lamb. Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy is Lord of all creation? Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy will one day rule the nations? Did you know that your Baby Boy is heaven's perfect Lamb? The sleeping Child you're holding is the Great, I Am.

Update Title: Forbidden Memory Still not finished thou RR
-
Here is the latest version of this very "hard-to-finish-song". I added some new elements, one of which gets out of hand volume wise in a few places. I also think the climax has become a little muddy so I'll have to look into that. But I am still looking for comments. Thanx guys Ryan

Update posted: Like most things, this is progressing slowly. I am thinking it is about 80-90% done now. Some questions for you: 1. Do you think I need a percussion track, standard or orchestral or otherwise? 2. Do I need to add more instrumentation to areas like 0:33 - 1:12, 3:25 - 4:10? 3. What should I call this song? (Titles usually come easy but not this time. I want a serious title, something that reflects the sadness and mystery of the melody and even the lost Hidden Palace level itself). Thanx Ryan
