  1. Well keep in mind that I'm also used to playing on WoW where there's a few thousand people online at any given time, so seeing "only" a hundred or so in the starting area seems quiet.

More telling is the fact that the General/LFG/Trade channels are really quiet (once the spammers are blocked). I don't know if that's just because people aren't really chatty on Yustiel or if it's because the gold spammers really have hijacked the general chats in the game.

That's something I really, really want to see fixed. I really could care less about the ethics of gold buying and selling or even their effects on the server economy and an individual's "competitive edge". What I do care about is the endless spamming of the 3 channels to the point where they're unusable without having to block people every hour.

Yeah, I don't even have those channels up, so it's possible people just aren't that talkative, or have a legion to help them with stuff. However, every time I come on I do catch a glimpse of it, and it is indeed overrun. They've done a few things already to try and stop the farmers, but they always manage to find ways around it. From what I've heard, development is pretty upset about the situation, and are trying to find a way to stop them. Unfortunately, at this point, if you want people to play with, joining a legion is probably the best way to go. Don't hesitate to whisper me if you need help with stuff also.

  2. I bought Aion this weekend and rolled with my GF on Yustiel (Elyos). We're still kind of exploring around with the game. The server is actually pretty quiet, which in a way isn't a good thing because low-population servers are harder to find groups on and so forth. But it's still a bit early to tell, we only played for a few hours and hit Level 7 last night before the server crashed.

This game is really pretty. Character customization is great.

I haven't been out in Poeta for a while now. It may just be that there are less people there in the newbie area. When in Sanctum, Verteron, or Eltnen, there are usually a decent amount of people.

I'm actually in a legion now and I'm a centurion, so if anyone wants to join in, I have the power to invite. We're pretty casual; not really worried about being the best. It's just for fun, and to help each other out, mostly. You can contact me (Jovi) if anyone's interested.

  3. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a great series. Even season 2 was pretty good (endless eight was just a few episodes too long). It's probably got a little more hype than is necessary, but that doesn't always mean it's bad. Like Gollgagh said, there aren't a huge amount of episodes so there's no harm in giving it a shot. You can watch the first season in any order you want, but the original airing order is my preferred way of viewing it.

  4. I want to roll Elyos. What server is everyone playing on for Elyos?

For Elyos I play on Yustiel. Name's Jovi. My Asmodian character is Uliana on the Kaisinel server. Both of those servers tend to be less crowded than the others so there should be plenty of room.

  5. Yeah, I'm with Kanthos here. I quite like the Game Flames segment, though it does need some polishing. Sadly, if I have to pick one or the other, the Roulette wins out due to it's history with the show, but I hate to have to do that, honestly. At any rate, you guys did an awesome job on your first episode back. I said earlier in the thread that I missed VGDJ, but, after hearing it again, I think that may have been a bit of an understatement. Thank you so much for bringin' it back and keep up the nice work, guys!

  6. I had an idea some time ago that involved the main character being murdered right at the beginning of the game. Like, within the first few minutes. Basically, you play as the main character's spirit so to speak and your goal is to make sure the guy who murdered you is served justice so you can rest in peace. As a ghost, you can posses other people for a short period of time along with a great number of other abilities. Of course, when you first become a spectre, you don't have a grip on said abilities.

As far as the restrictions of just one town, I'd just say that a ghost cannot leave it's "haunting grounds" or something like that. This info would no doubt be given to you by some helpful phantom NPC who would act as your guide in learning your abilities. In some cases, combat may actually be combat, but in most instances, you'd get EXP by solving things, and assisting the police and detectives in some fashion. Certainly this has been done at some point before, but I feel like it might actually be pretty unique as far as RPGs go.

Also, the image isn't working for me either.

  7. In watching the trailer over and over, there appear to be a lot of scenes and areas that look like they could be from past games. The forested area where she's fighting what appear to be Arachnus looks like it could be the surface of SR-388 as shown in the intro to Fusion. There's also the place where that giant multi-eyed creature leaps out from the lava which looks a whole lot like Magmoor Caverns (and possibly a magmoor) from Prime. There's the part where she's grappling with a Space Pirate, however, the design of the Pirate is very close to the X-parasite ones. Then there are the bits with Adam and Samus' past as well as the scene from Super Metroid. With so many seemingly different time periods and locations, I feel like the game either deals with actual time travel, or a lot of flashbacks. At any rate, there seem to be quite a few connections to Fusion here. Actually, now that I think about it, this could all just be some kind of "Umbrella Chronicles" for the Metroid series.

Incidentally, the dead soldier could very well be Adam and the Living Body Arms Development Lab has something to do with them making an AI out of him. Why he's dead right outside the lab is kind of odd, and of course that would mean that Samus should have known about it prior to Fusion seeing as how she's kinda standing there while that other lady is logging on, so that theory's pretty much debunked already. Could also be that guy that either we or Samus is supposed to remember. I also thought it was interesting that, during the fight with the giant, purple squid-thing, there are a bunch of Federation Troopers providing cover fire for Samus.

  8. Y'know, I've been wanting to see a little more of her Smash Bros. combat put into an actual Metroid game, and so this is going to be extremely interesting.

Also, I have this strange feeling that this game is going to revolve around time travel somehow. First, we have the short-haired Samus who appears to be the main character (and rather young). We also know that Adam is from her past. Coupling these together suggests a possibility of taking place prior to Zero Mission. Then there's the voice that says, "Time to go." Could just be in there 'cause it sounds neat, but they do like to stick hints like that in trailers occasionally. Also, there's the other Samus who appears older and much more like the one we're familiar with. I'm thinking she might possibly be from the future. If it does involve time-travel this will make for one interesting story ('Cause time-loops and paradoxes are fun!) and regardless, it looks like it's going to be pretty awesome. Color me excited!

  9. How is scarring children not awesome?

Incidentally, no, he's not making it up. Pokemon can be pretty damn brutal at times. Just look at Houndoom. It's a hellhound that breathes fire produced by a deadly cocktail of toxins that boil in its body, and because of those toxins, anyone who gets burned by that fire WILL FEEL THE PAIN FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE.

Now think back and imagine how many cute little Jigglypuffs you'd be crippling forever by hitting them with Houndoom's flamethrower.

Feraligatr tears and shreds it's prey into pieces as it devours it. Cacturne follow travelers through the desert waiting for them to become weak and unable to move. Most likely so they can eat them. Hypno hypnotizes children (there was at least one incident of this) and takes them away to do who-knows-what to them. Pokémon are freakin' awesome.

  10. They might have rushed the release just to shock everyone. Most anime that doesn't come with an opening song tends to add them on later on.

Considering they've had three years to work on the thing, I somehow doubt it. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya part 6 didn't have the opening theme either, and it was (according to the original broadcast order) the last episode. At any rate, I loved the episode and am looking forward to Disappearance, Snow Mountain Syndrome, Melancholy of Mikuru, as well as a handful of others.

  11. It's not summer yet, but I finished this a while back and figured you guys probably wouldn't care anyway if I posted it ahead of schedule.

This is the image at only 25% of it's normal size. Sorry it won't go any bigger. I need to find place that'll let me upload pictures that big.

  12. Binjovi or Binjovist. This is actually the reason I changed my handle from Bean (I don't use that name anywhere else anymore). Binjovist pops up with more entries that are actually me than Binjovi does, but I suppose that makes sense.

  13. I'm not opposed to her being raised by Chozo, but I never much cared for the whole infused-with-Chozo-DNA thing. I guess it kind of detracts from the character and the technology of the suit for me.

I, personally, would rather it not be made into a movie. There's far too much that could go wrong for me to even have a glimmer of hope for the final product.

But what would be cool would be an animated series like Samurai Jack, or Clone Wars. Little to no dialogue, short episodes (missions) full of awesome action, crazy monsters and stunning alien landscapes. A sleek visual style to boot.
