I have to fix the skylands map so it's actually a skyland map again...so the current one will be gone when I am able to do that. Flatgrass is the new 1.0 world so not a big issue with people running around there.

If you want fresh new landscape, we do have a brand spanking new map you can warp too from spawn. Or one of us magic admins can warp you to the edge of the map.

I will gladly stop playing Skyrim for a little Saxton Hale.

Something of interest for those who donated to aba, you now have access to a creative mode map. For those that have not donated and still want access to creative mode, I suggest you run over to http://angryitch.com/?p=177 and click the donate button. Giving money to aba is a sure fire way to get benefits from him. To actually find the creative mode map, it's off to spawn with you, the Skyland portal there will take you where you need to go. If you don't know where that is, I suggest typing '/spawn' turning around and keep going up (stairs being on the left or right just behind you).

There hours can be weird because their core support group is out of Europe somewhere. Even with that they are usually pretty good at getting back within a reasonable time frame. At the moment though, I can't even get onto the server, just sits at "Sending client info..."

ಠ_ಠ See, I made the assumption that their servers are consistent in the ways you can access them, ie. either the garbage that is clanforge or via console and ftp. As it turns out that's not true, mostly because they are to lazy to setup ftp access on the windows machines most of their game servers are running on.

If you're lazy but still want a google maps style map, then tectonicus might work. As long as it does a better job compressing images then the old Minecraft Overviewer did, it shouldn't result in a gig worth of images. If you are however not lazy, you can do what I do for our map. Run mcmap to produce a single large image, then slice it up with my handy dandy PS script and then copy the code from my map page and edit as you need to.

If the server isn't crashing or having it's own random crazy ping events, multiplay branding may not be that bad. Thought, if anything is going to piss you off, it'll be their clanforge interface.

Only cause I'm interested in the quality of their TF2 servers.

I didn't read the entire thing, giant wall of text and all, but as I recall the marines didn't intentionally go back in time and the 'how' was never explained, which is probably a good idea. Trying to address the hows of time travel with your standard movie made-up techno-jargon would screw things up more then leaving the marines in a state of confusion. Not sure if the effects on the modern world were ever explain in the guys write-up but if the movie tries to explain it, I expect something similar to the end of Mark Wahlbergs Planet of the Apes.

ಠ_ಠ I don't get this, Jobs is a marketing genius, an incredibly savvy business man and the work he and Jonathan Ive put into the modern Apple tech line up is impressive, but very little of it is actually innovative. The vast majority of what Apple sells can be traced back to someone else, hell the first Apple personal computer is damn near a carbon copy of the computer xerox had made but essentially given up on. Who would want a computer in their home anyways? Jobs is responsible for bring these innovations to the forefront of western culture and with him gone it may take longer from new innovations to gain popularity. That, in my estimation, is the biggest loss resulting from Jobs death. However, he wasn't responsible for many of the innovations in the first place so that exciting new tech will still be there, just less shiny and probably cheaper.

Abadoss currently pays for a MineCraft server on multiplaygameservers.com and given that the MC server software is absolute garbage, it runs fairly well. If you ask nicely Aba (or me since he gave me the code) might even provide a referral code to help drop the price, which is $24/month or less if you do a 3,6 or 12 month plan. Not sure if it's what you are looking for in terms of server hosts, but it's a thought.
