  1. What does this mean with regards to allowing my girls to do floor routines to Remixes? This would seem to conflict with point B, as I can't really announce that it's from OCR and give the URL and the artist every time somebody practices a routine (ie every time the music plays during practice,) and the only way I can think of to do it at a meet would be to take out an ad in the program at every single meet; which I'm not sure would really qualify under the terms of use anyway. It would conflict with point C, because I have to edit and cut the songs so they will be the right length for the girls to do routines to, and often I have to take chunks from different parts of the mixes instead of playing one contiguous chunk of the mix. Would this violate the clause against modifying it for redistribution? In short, would I still be able to allow my girls to use OCRemixes as routine music, or would I have to go and get these mixes directly from the remixers, or from VGmix or R:TS (or wherever else I may be able to find them)?
  2. You fail at rickrolling. EDIT: wow, I never realized before how much that song sounds like Robo's Theme.
  3. It's exactly the same screen except it says "Starting Today" where it said "1 Day to Launch"
  4. The fact remains that either there will be somebody who is the equavalent of SSBM's fox or there will be somebody who is the equivalent of SSBM's falco, but not both. Same with Falcon/Ganondorf. Same with Mario/Doc (though I won't be surprised if they make Mario more like SSBM Doc -- which would be fine with me).
  5. Do we know if the english and japanese site are launching at the same time?
  6. No, they're among the hardest; they're definitely among the most technical characters in the game, and the two that require the fastest and most precise fingers to master. I don't play either one of them; I main Doc. Fox is one of my three secondaries. But go to smashboards and check the tier list; there's widespread agreement in the smash community that Fox and Falco are the two best characters in the game.
  7. I don't care about the characters; it's the move sets! Fox and Falco are the two best characters in the game. One of them is effectively getting the ax.
  8. No clones. And we already know fox will be in it. So no falco
  9. It would be nice if we could add something to the terms of use requiring that somebody make a good faith effort to contact the remixer and ask or at least inform them before performing it in a commercial place.
  10. A good chunk of the mixes on this site (including a lot of really top-notch stuff) was done entirely with software. There are definitely a few things you can do with real instruments that are virtually impossible with software, but there are also a ton of things you can do with software that are flat out impossible on real instruments.
  11. I would have far less objection to this if the policy more explicitly required those copyright holders to inform the remixer, and to credit the mixer and the site. If there is original material in the mix, I should have a say in whether or not it can be used commercially, because those parts genuinly are MY intellectual property.
  12. You know, I may actually be able to make this. EDIT: Nevermind, not gonna work. I need to coach a floor clinic the next day. Which means I'd have to drive home saturday night. Which means I'd have about enough time to show up, say "hi," and go home.
  13. You've actually played in a band? Then you have more musical experience than half the people on this site. Give it a shot. And remember, everybody sucks at first. Just stick with it.
  14. This is called irony. EDIT: Though to be honest, I just couldn't find an effective way of phrasing it. I'm absolutely enough of a dick to make the joke.
  15. I sort of wish I was enough of a dick to make the joke that's going through my head right now. But I won't.
  16. Got my tickets. I'll be comming in to Union Station by train on thursday around 5:00.
  17. I love "Throwdown." I'm gonna run it by some of the other coaches and see if I can get some of my girls to use it as floor routine music next season.
  18. After listening to the alblum all the way through: Overall, this is an awesome album. Production is absolutely breathtaking, composition is excellent. I will say, however, that I was a little dissappointed by "Breathing you In" and "Antigravity." Both, I felt, depended too heavily on a single short riff. In both cases, that riff is absolutely amazing, but it seemed like it could have been expanded more. This is especially true with Antigravity: listening to the chorus alone, it is absolutely the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard, period. It could not possibly be better. But the rest of the song feels, for the most part, like filler. I'd love to hear more developement and more of Jill's singing in the song. What's there is amazing, it just feels unfinished. That said, this is still without a doubt one of the best alblums I own. Also, alblum.
  19. I can't seem to get ahold of mario sunshine, who was going to be my ride. Anybody else going past/through/anywhere near Raleigh on their way?
  20. I'm looking to buy a digital camcorder. The thing is I don't know anything at all about digital camcorders. I have no idea what features I should be looking for. I'd mostly use it to film gymnastics routines. Here are my requirements: -It needs to have decent framerate; I don't want its videos to look like something taken by a cellphone, where the framerate is so slow you can't tell what's going on half the time. The things I'll be filming will be happenning at pretty high speed. -It would be nice if I could, while playing back video, pause and go forward frame by frame. Not required, but it would be helpful. -It needs to have high enough definition that I can clearly see what a person is doing in a video taken from 40 feet away. I don't need to be able to count somebody's eyelashes from a huge distance or anything, but it needs to be clear enough that I can film somebody from 40 feet away and be able to see them clearly in the video. -I need to be able to connect it to my computer and download/edit videos. I don't already have any video editing software, so it would be nice if the camera came with some. Doesn't need to be anything fancy, I just need to be able to cut video and perhaps add text. ANy reccomendations? Or if not specific reccomendations, can anybody tell me what sort of things I need to look for as far as product specs?
  21. Don't worry, you'll sell more when you win Techno Alblum of the year again.
