A really cool mix, I really like it! However, this mix sounds more like its inspiration was from Mega Bomberman on the Sega than from the standard NES version of Bomberman. Its still very original, but some of the extra background in this mix isn't from the NES, but is also on Mega Bomberman. Here is the GYM of it, if anyone is interested http://www.ffmaps.com/images/flipt/demosong1.gym

OCR01240 - Castlevania III "Stained Glass Filth"

This is... indeed... very owny. The only reason this isn't 10/10 is the guitar is overly loud. I played with my setup a bit and it never sounded totally right. They just seemed a bit *too* loud. Reguardless, thats a minor thing compared to the overall quality of this mix. 9.5/10 -
Wow late reply for me I actually have this file dated 08/29/2000 in an XM coded with Fast Tracker. Same song, but that explains the reason the encoding sounds bad, all the samples were 16-bit samples and rather small. Can download the XM from http://www.ffmaps.com/images/pub/GRADIUSX.XM if you want.

This is good and original, I like it. I cant keep this on my playlist, though. I dont know why but it would get annoying on a playlist. However, its a very original mix none-the-less and theres no better game to remix imo than Guardian Legend. $$ 7/10 -

I agree with this. Review the song itself, not how it compares to others. I loved the energy in this song a lot. The only thing that I find kinda lacking is the very very heavy game feel to it. Granted, its a game remix, but other than the guitars, it sounds like it could be played back on a snes. Was that the overall intention? I have a hard time rating this personally, cuz.. I do enjoy it a lot (Hell I can spend all day listening to SPCs and NSFs ), but in terms of originality, I don't know. I'll give it a 7.5/10 but I think it could easily be improved to a 8.0-8.5 if it sounded a little less gamey/tracked. Great job for a first submission, however, look forward to the next track! -
I really don't like the background sound. I think this mix would have been better without it, permaps something a little less explicit and whacky sounding - but there are some parts in it that are really cool, especially starting at 2:28 and the stuff around 3:00. 6/10.

Synths are classic Amiga style. You can definately hear the mod feel in it. I liked it a lot! I'm trying to vision what this would sound like on an XM arrangement for a more gamey feel 8.5/10 -

Considering the tools available (SC-8850, etc) this is a well done mix. I think the percussion is a tad too generic and plain, but thats the SC for ya. I would love to hear more - the flutes at 1:15 were lovely to hear. 7.5/10 -

Drums were very well done. Overall, though this mix is missing something for me. I dont know what it is though, but I can't see myself listening to this as often as other mixes, but its not too bad. Again, the drums were done exceptionally well imo.. 7/10 -

I liked it a lot! The ONLY thing that disturbed me a little bit was the feeling I was listening to a christmas tune (Especially around 1:11), however the mix of orchestral sounds with the beat, and addition of synths made for a really really cool remix. This will be on my playlist for awhile. 8.5/10 -

Obviously I wasnt refering to you Darkesword, I would think you dont judge your own remix for posting In all honesty, I have yet to find a mix you've made that I didnt like I just find that I personally REALLY enjoy several mixes that judges are most harsh on. -

Sometimes I wonder what the judges panel is smoking. This is a fantastic mix, not to mention the first X2 mix. There is nothing wrong with this mix, makes me want to break out X2 and start playing again. All techno is generic guys, you either like it or you dont. I have never heard any "revolutionary" techno. As for this song, this has a eurobeat sound to it, something kinda like outta Initial-D anime. I like it a lot, its one of my top 10 from this site. Good job, Darkesword.
