AHHHHHHH M.Bison's stage has nothing so far! Looks like I've found myself something to do in this very last week. Any ideas for this track? -

A lot of people have been asking when the album will be released. Good question, one I should have answered earlier. At the moment we are looking for a mid-May release. Everything is looking good so far for that! Don't forget to check my post on page 37 for updates on what tracks have been recieved. -

Dunno, wasn't on the handover that Shael gave me. EDIT: Lol Shael emailed it to me about 20 mins after making this post. So yeah I got it. Shael has asked me to collect the final versions. He has other things going on at the mo and so I've stepped in to be his 'deputy' so to speak. It's my understanding (I might be wrong) that he's got all WIPs and final versions in one place, so he can't really dicipher which is which, with so many tracks. Bascially you'll have to send it to me. Sorry. Just to update: Shael has emailed me and asked me not to accept ANY submissions after Friday 5th May. Anything sent to me after that date will not be included in the final album. -

Great stuff Aetherius. The singing style suits the song and the mood perfectly. I can see this is an intro tune for some reason... -
How old were you? (starting remixing)

I was 10 when I started messing around on the keyboard, 16 when I started making midis and 17 when my I got my first OCR mix posted. I'm 23 now - damn that seems like a long time ago now! -

Thanks for bringing up the mastering point José - you'll have to do your own mastering for the album. Rofl at the lyrics - sooooo big headed! Definitely satisfactory. Oh kool. That's even better! I just sent you a pm btw. It only does it a couple of times. Ok KungFu, that's fine. KungFuChicken gets some extra time for coming in so late to do the Vega Stage after Txai dropped out so close to the deadline. -
Thanks!

I was looking around on this forum, but it looks like the soundcard threads are all gone. OMG! I can't believe that so far I've been recording on an Audigy all this time. I feel like re-recording all my Urbanizm tracks again. The quality is astounding, the latency is next to nothing, and I've got loads of plugins to mess around with. What soundcards do you guys use?

Just for ease of use I've got a multiband compressor already hooked up on my reason default song. I've set it so it hardly clips, and the eq is near enough transparent. I see nothing wrong with having a template with all your effects ready to go on the mixer auxes, especially if you always ending up using those particular effects anyway.

Hmmmm, will I get a flood of mixes on Tuesday or what? -
Lyrics are so easy when you write about something you feel passionate about. I usually compose an instrumental first, and then work on the lyrics afterwards. The rhythm of the vocals are very important to me as it controls the vibe of the song.

Just go to http://video.google.com and search for 'the piano guy'. And then you'll be entertained for hours. Most of it is 'yeah I knew this already!' but you'll still pick up some very new stuff here and there. EDIT: Actually it might be better to just search for 'scott houston'. Try both search terms, they might come up with different videos.

IMPORTANT VITAL POST Ok, this is the final week. Shael has asked that I take in the final submissions. You can email them to me directly (gmail hehehe) or send me a link. File guidelines: 192kbps mp3 - I recommmend freerip which uses the LAME encoding. I don't use winamp anymore because it sometimes causes the file to go into clipping when it shouldn't. But anyways you can find it here: http://www.mgshareware.com/frmmain.shtml Don't forget to come up with an original name for your remix, OC style! ID3 Tags are as follows, using my Balrog remix as an example: I soooo excited! This is gonna be great! Final Deadline 25th April EDIT: Forgot to add, the filename would be: BotA_a_Tribute_to_Street_Fighter_2_-_Balrog_Stage_Mercenary_Boxing.mp3 EDIT 2: Changed the capital 'A' to a lowercase. Shael reminded me that the article should always be lowercase. And I thought my gammar was good. Oh well. -

My updates are getting a little out of sync now lol, but anyways. It seems that all of the stages have been claimed at this point. We have less than 2 weeks now to submit our final versions to Shael. I will be going crazy in the last week, but you'll just have to wait to see that. Anyways, the tracks that are free afaik are: E.Honda Ending Blanka Ending Ken Ending Zangeif Ending Sagat Ending T.Hawk Ending Feilong Ending DeeJay Ending M.Bison Ending I believe these tracks to be non-essential (due to them being ending themes) especially at this penultimate stage in the project. However I do still think that 2 weeks is plenty of time. As for other themes: 'Tournament mode begins', 'Title screen', 'Ending credits' and 'Here comes a new challenger' themes have already been taken. Me and RTF are still working on Cammy and Chun-li at this present time. I think we may even finish early. Let's all make some great tunes guys! -

Right, the Balrog ending is a no-go, all I've come out with is crap so far! Stages are by far the priority imo, so me and Red tailed fox are collaborating on Cammy and Chunli at the present time. -

I've done a little something with Cammy's stage, but I can't go any further. If someone wants to do a collab with me and you got Reason 3, gimme a pm and I'll send it to ya. -

2 and 1/2 weeks to go!!! I hope Shael is recieveing more correspondence than I have, because I've had hardly any this week. Anyways I still have faith that we will get a good release! Tracks still open AFAIK: Chun-li Stage Cammy Stage E.Honda Ending Blanka Ending Ken Ending Zangeif Ending Sagat Ending T.Hawk Ending Feilong Ending DeeJay Ending M.Bison Ending Come on people, let's mobilise! I have no doubt that this project will be popular, everyone knows the Street Fighter tunes. Do as many tracks as you can guys. I've still got to tackle that Balrog ending theme, I haven't got that much time left. I want to finish early in case we don't get any other people to finish the remaining 2 stage themes that haven't been covered yet. -

Ok last weeks list is still accurate afaik. I've been working on the 'here comes a new challenger theme', I sent the final to Shael so that's done. So I've only got to work on Balrog's ending theme now. 4 weeks to go people! If you want to take any of the themes that are still free, either me or Shael will need to hear a WIP of it. As I said before, if you've done a character's stage already and would like to also like to do their ending theme as well that would be very kool! -
We can give you some better tips if we hear your singing first. A few general tips I can give, from my limited experience: 1. Make sure you have enough breath - sing from the bottom of your lungs. 2. Be sure to take extra care that you pronounce your words clearly - your lips will be all over the place, but it will sound good lol. 3. If you know the lyrics by heart and feel them you'll give a better performance.

LMAO! Maybe write some lyrics that are vague so you can't tell it's street fighter? Yeah it is gonna feel strange singing about street fighter, that's why I'm wondering whether to do a vocal of Balrog's ending or not.
