  1. Wait a minute, I just realized... how did you know it was from me? I never signed my name anywhere on it... I'm pretty sure I signed the card with "Santa" and the return address with "Santa" unless something went wrong somewheres... did you google my address? hurr... :banghead:

    OH WELL ;-)

    I have my ways. MUAHAHAHA!

In all seriousness, I googled your address, drove four days to get to your house, waited for you to come out, then looked through all the pictures of everyone who participated in Secret Santa. After some logical deduction and a few Paint-by-Numbers activities, I came to the conclusion that you were my secret Santa.

In serious seriousness, you DID write "Strader" on the return address (not "Santa", as it seemed you intended to do) of the box you sent me. I'm not your Secret Stalker :(

  2. Glad you got it on Christmas, I was worried.

Sucker Punch is good if you watch it for the eye candy and the music. And of course by eye candy I mean those cute girls in HD Blu ray 1080 p HDTV high definition.

The spam was probably the trickiest part of the gift to acquire. Hope you enjoy it :-)

    You saw Adaptation before eh?

It's been a few years, but I remember loving it. Charlie Kaufman is the man.

  3. THANK YOU, Brandon Strader! You were a great Secret Santa!!! I received: a heartwarming Christmas card, a heart-healthy can of Spam (something I have not eaten for years), THREE (!) blu-rays ('Adaptation.' [an undeniably great film], 'The Wicker Man' [haven't seen it but I know Nic Cage is absolutely ridiculous in it], and 'Sucker Punch' [another one I haven't seen -- terrible reviews but now I get to experience it for myself in the comfort of my own apartment!]), AND a seasonally-appropriate heaping of peppermints and chocolates!

Definitely brightened my Christmas! Hope everyone is enjoying their day!

  4. Random track comments time!

ProjectSpam - Sting's Chameleon (Toxic Seahorse vs. Sting Chameleon)

Those vocals are mixed pretty poorly in. Not much else to say except that song title is terrible!

Thanks for the comments! Yes, the title is pretty bad, but ultimately this was going to be a song in the style of The Police's 'Every Breath You Take'. I guess, in its current state, I could have picked a better title considering that the vocals aren't really at the point of prominence yet.

(And ultimately, I don't have Sting's voice, haha)

  5. I struggled on my project for a hour or so on Wednesday and it's looking like that's all I'll have to submit. Three 14-hour workdays in a row and 2 more tomorrow and Monday have pretty much destroyed any hope of me giving an effort for this third round. It's a bummer because I really liked my idea (I may try to fully realize it after the competition) but it's looking like it won't even be worth listening to. I'll see if I can get something decent out in the next hour or so but it's not looking good.

  6. WHAT!? I won?!? This is crazy. Did not expect that at all. TheRexasaurus, that was a great battle and your song was awesome.

I hate to say this because of all the drops we've had, but I'm going to have very limited time (if any) to put something together this week. I'll be in Austin, TX for GDC Online from tomorrow until Saturday.

Good luck to everyone though! I'll try my best to get make something.

Gario - You put up quite a fight with that remix. I love it :)

Man, Austin is so awesome. Enjoy it there (if you even have time to go around the city. I'm sure the conference will be pretty time-consuming). Hope you're able to put something together, though. I'm going to have to bring my A-Game (of course, I have to discover my A-Game first)

  7. Lovin' the mixes!

And the comments! No matter the result of this week, I plan on posting my track in the WIP forum at some point in the next month because this week's mix is probably better than any remix I've made before. Definitely could use some polish, but for what it's worth I liked my idea. Love how this competition just forces you to dwell on the mixes and do something creative.

TheRexAsaurous, you are a most worthy opponent! Really enjoyed your song, especially in the last 60 seconds, and I wish I could offer constructive criticism as you did on mine but I really don't know how to comment in that regard -- I feel underqualified!

I'm having the toughest time deciding who to vote for. Looks like I'll be listening to the mixes several times before voting ends. Everyone made awesome music and it's looking like there will be close battles this week, so these are exciting times.
