  1. It's tough defining what's lesser known on a gamer targeted site, but I'll give it a shot. Crystalis (NES) Little Nemo: The Dream Master (NES) - Also had a movie that I liked when I was young. Shadowgate (NES) Point and click adventure game with a haunting soundtrack. Landstalker (Genesis) Aladdin (SNES) I realize that everyone probably knows the movie, but the game is actually good too. Demon's Crest (SNES) Soul Blazer (SNES) Super Smash TV (SNES) Dark Savior (Saturn) Guardian Heroes (Saturn) Legend of Legaia (PS1) Legaia : Duel Saga (PS2) Iji (PC)
  2. Soul Blazer Illusion of Gaia Tetris Attack TMNT4: Turtles in Time Super Smash TV The latter three are hella fun if you can find a partner to play with. Also, if you pick up an emulator to play Terranigma, check out Bahamut Lagoon and Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2.) Bahamut Lagoon is like Shining Force with dragons.
  3. I feel the same way. I gave mine away because I simply hated the motion controls. It's just a personal preference thing. I might've kept it for the virtual console though if I didn't already have a modded Xbox to emulate the older systems. It sure beats re-buying my old game collection, plus it upscales them all to HD resolutions. Sprites look incredibly sharp in HD.
  4. Lost Odyssey is the only game that's actually made me shed tears. A few others have made me a little teary eyed though, like Suikoden II and Terranigma. And this might seem a bit strange, but the title screen to Secret of Mana always makes me tear up.
  5. Harmony - Secret of Mana "Dragon Song" http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01404/
  6. Crystalis. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1dneoKn9uo While not quite as obscure as some of the titles listed here, I still find myself humming some of these tunes almost 20 years later.
  7. I think the stupid ending is more due to how the story was handled than anything. In the light novels, Endless Eight is just a one chapter story, at maybe a 20 minute read, so the ending was perfectly satisfactory to me in that context. Now when they somehow manage to drag it out over 2 months worth of copy/paste TV episodes, then it's incredibly underwhelming. If they stick to the novels without doing anything crazy, the rest of the season should be enjoyable though.
  8. If they include backwards compatibility with it, I'll buy one for sure. My PS2 just died, so that would work out well. If they don't include it, well... then it's more of a maybe for me. Smaller is definitely better though. Hopefully it's cooler and quieter too.
  9. Gauntlet. I remember playing this game for hours, and yet when I fire it up now I'm bored within minutes. Shadowgate. Every so often I get the urge to play this game. Then five minutes in, I realize all I really wanted was to listen to the soundtrack. Altered Beast. Man this game is bad. It was cool as hell back in the day though with co-op. Any older Dragon Warrior. I can't believe I had the patience to play through these. Iron Sword. I can barely even control the character properly, let alone try to play the game. Guess it just shows how much my gaming skills have deteriorated.
  10. This. If you plan on moving your system at all, do yourself a favor and take out the disc. I moved mine once with a disc in it (system was unplugged), and the next time I fired it up I kept getting Disc Read errors. Took the disc out and it had a laser ring. Needless to say I take my discs out before I move my 360 at all anymore. And just as a heads up, if you have a Hollywood Video near you, they can buff your disc to look brand new. It's only a few dollars, which is much cheaper than buying a new copy.
