I don't mind much this time. As long as you put some effort on the song and I can call the submission a 'song', it's acceptable for this round.

You may use any source you like to use, but the music must still be done by you for the biggest part (or together with someone you collaborate with). So it is fine to take a midi, only change the instruments and submit, but it is not allowed to pick a song, keep everything the same and add only a voice to it, with the original completely unchanged. Taking vocals of a song and changing the instruments of the song is allowed, as long as it is not plagiarism. You're idea is fine for this round. It is not allowed to submit work which are done by someone else, or work done by you before this round. However, you may use WIP's and finish them for this round, as long as most of the work is done for this round (in the upcoming two weeks).

If you have troubles with ThaSauce, upload the song somewhere else and post a link to it in this thread. Soundcloud is recommended. Make sure that there is a download link to the thread, Hoboka (or myself) then are able to upload it on ThaSauce. I hope Hoboka won't mind if you are not able to do this before the deadline. I hope the issue will be solved pretty soon, I can understand that it is annoying.

The People's Remix Competition 260 PRCv10-26 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! This is a big milestone for the PRC remix competition. Like every 26th PRC, this is an aniversary edition. This is already the 10th anniversary of the contest. The anniversary edition is always a good moment to look back at the previous rounds. This year (in round 235-259, 25 rounds in total), 21 different remixers participated. 14 of them managed to win at least one round. Esperado and OneUp are on top with 4 wins this year. 85 Songs were submitted, which is 3.54 songs on average. 5 Of these songs are Bonus Mixes. The songs are distributed over the rounds as follows: Last year (PRC209-234) 28 unique participants entered, with 15 unique winners. Sggod89 was the master of that year with 7 wins. 85 songs were submitted including 5 bonus mixes (exactly the same as this year, but here the anniversary edition is included). Free Round Everything is acceptable this time. You are free to remix Ice Cap, Lemmings, Godzilla, the hammer theme of Donkey Kong, the movie theme of Star Wars, the theme song from the Champions League (soccer), anything is fine for this round. Even original songs are acceptable for this round. It is up to you to decide. Midi rips are allowed this time. Only requirement is that the songs must be at least 30 seconds long. Because last round was extended, the round started later as in the usual schedule, but the deadline will also be a bit later as usual. The remixing stage of PRC260 will start after the remixing deadline of this round directly and that round will be a bit longer as usual, as it is a special anniversary edition. Last round only one song appeared before the regular deadline, but after extending it twice, 2 other songs and 1 bonus mix where added, bringing the total to 4 songs. I've uploaded Esperado's track, making the total song number 4 (1 Bonus). I'm glad that the extention worked well this time. Still 75 minutes left for more.

Like I just posted in the wrong thread, there is still time left (30 minutes) because ThaSauce has different Time Settings (Daylight Saving). Voting Stage will be 1 hour less than usual.

I just realized (and checked it too late) that ThaSauce changed Time Zones somewhere in the last weeks. So there's still one hour left, voting stage will be 1 hour shorter as usual.

If anyone has problems with signing-up or posting remixes on ThaSauce, it also allowed to upload the song somewhere else and post a download link in this thread. Two songs already, but of course: the more the better. If OneUp manages to win this round, he is the new recordist with 18 wins. If you don't want that to happen: make a good remix and make sure that it beats OneUps song in the voting stage. Currently OneUp and Rexy both are recordist with 17 wins.

I voted (just before the deadline, which is within one hour). About the voting rules, although I prefer a first place bonus, it is your contest so you decide the rules. Remember, it only matters if 1-3 participants vote (for this round, with 4 entries excluding bonus mixes). But when too many people are complaining about it, it is important to listen to them. It might be fun to post both results (so one with a 2 point bonus and one with a 3 point bonus).

Since the remixing stage of RMWtS is two weeks, you could do this one in 1 week and use the other week (the voting week of this contest / other bracket) to do RMWtS (or PRC/DOD/MnP or any other contest).

That's the main reason why PRC has a first place bonus for voters. Depending on what rule is decided, the voters or the not-voters have the advantage. Since I want to encourage people, and in this case remixers, to vote, I prefer to have the advantage for voters. This system is tricky, especially if two songs our much better as the others. It also gives a disadvantage when there are only 3 songs or less.

Awesome source, one of my favorite games. But since this is a competition, doesn't this topic belong in the competitions thread?
