Roe! Great job on the mix, this is actually one of the more memorable tracks from MS2. Personally, I like that its rough and raw and has no long breakdowns, its full of energy throughout. And like people before have already noted, bass is really cool. Respect!

Great project! I was a bit skeptical about the whole "symphonic/cinematic" idea, but I have to admit that this project came out well. Sure, it is still sort of a mixed bag, but overall I would rate it a success. My absolute favorite is mv's Darkest Omen. It blows away my previos favorite on the site, which was actually also done by mv - Time Chill.

First of all, I would like to address this particular mix. After all, this is a review board. The mix almost sounds like it was meant to be on Chrono Cross soundtrack. Acoustic guitar, ethnic percussion, strings - all sound great. The mix builds up great around 2:23 before it takes a break. I really like the variations. What really makes this mix stand out is the mood it creates. Sure, the note at 3:32 sounds a little questionable, yes drums are a bit repetitive, but there is a lot more depth to this mix that makes those issues nearly irrelevant. Great job Neil! As for the OCR selection and judging system: It works. The process is meant to be highly selective. It's the selectivity that makes this site the premiere video game music site on the internet. I am sure if DJP had a problem with the judges, he could handle it on his own. And besides, this mix was approved by the judges, so there should have been no argument in the first place.

As an avid fan of all things SoR, I felt obliged to share my impressions of this mix. Usually, as soon as I download a SoR mix, I love it, as I do most SoR mixes on this site, barring a couple. I was really looking forward to downloading this mix, and when I finally listened to it I was a little disappointed - it sounded too downbeat and unimpressive right of the bat. I have to agree with Prot on almost everything he said about the mix. Oh well, in any case, most SoR mixes sound either minimalistic or suspiciously like midi-rips, they manage to capture the essence of the originals. This one just doesn't. Gecko Yamori does it way better in his version. Sensual Ippon sounds uninspired. On the bright side, rhodes do sound great and the variations are also good. I think that this mix would not have had an easy time with the judges. Lack of progression is one issue. The ending from the title just sort of pops up out of nowhere, there is no buildup to it. Drums are repetitive, I hear 4 unique measures at most, one repeating over and over and 3 alternating fills. The flute sounds subpar to put it mildly. There is also very little going on in the rearrangement department, especially considering the emphasis that is being put on rearrangement on this site. Also, it just sounds sparse in a lot of places. The quality of this mix is surprising, especially coming from mv, whose TimeChill is surely in my top three favorite mixes of all time. EDIT: After listening to this mix on a good system a couple of times, I learned to appreciate it more.

First of all, I would like to bring up a point that Stage 1 BG music is probably the best piece in the whole trilogy. Sure SOR2 had the best soundtrack, but the Stage 1 has always been the funkiest, the one that gave the character to the series and resonated in other tracks throughout the series. For quite a while I have been wondering why no one has ever succefully tackled the remix of the Stage 1 BGM. And finally it arrived. Tefnek did an excellent job. Simplistic? Repetitive? Those arguments should sound ridiculous, especially in times when hip-hop is the ruling genre in the music industry. This mix has everything that it needs to retain the character of the original. Sure it doesn't have the flavor of "Tripping on the Bridge", the intensity of "Blaze the Siren", or the melodic melancholy of "Slow Moon Groove", but it has the arrogant bulldozer energy of a solid big beat track. And what's up with Vigilante, the judge? Why is he trying to judge an electronic dance track by the same standards as a fully orchesrtated RPG piece? Isn't just about any rock or pop track on the radio nowadays painfully repetitive? And what about rap and hip hop, where one sample is reused throughout the song? Why are those artists making millions? Even the most likable modern day pop track will seem idiotic and as if it were composed by a 2yo, when you compare it to Chaikovsky or Vivaldi. Even the most elaborately composed rock/pop song, won't compare to the complexity of Bach's polyphony. Yet the dumb little 4-5 minute loud tracks have one thing that attracks people - CHARACTER!!! It is sad to see that tracks here are judged by some solely based on their complexity, with little regard to personality. And yes, some techno tracks do have personality, rarely, but they do. And tefnek's track is a good example of a MACHINE with a SOUL. To TEFNEK: fantastic track. Can't stop listening to it. Respect![

I am not a hardcore RPG gamer, but the I have developed a very strong emotional connection to the Chrono series, thanks to the incredible music by Yasunori Mitsuda. The Robo theme was one of my favorite tunes from the CT soundtrack and Star brings it to life with lyrics in the best way possible. Even though I am not fond of the distorted drums in this piece, I would still rate it as the most imaginitive CT remix ever. The lyrics fit the mood of the track perfectly and offer a good insight into Robo's complex character. For those of you who haven't downloaded this remix yet, put it as the top priority on your "to do" list. This track is a must-have. To Star: Mad respect.
