  1. after taking almost the entire time the project was in progress. waiting on FOUR NOTES!
  2. shimmering generally points to an issue with the refresh rate, doesn't it? at least, if it's not the cable. wait, 21.5" monitor, and it's a 1920x1080 res? which one is that? i thought that you had to go past 22" to get a monitor with full hd resolution standard. if you're forcing it beyond standard res (probably 1680x1050, like my 22"), then the shimmering could be the monitor trying to update pixels that aren't there, or trying to keep up with a high refresh rate when it's not built for that res. phill, he's using a lappy with a secondary monitor attached, so there's only one cable.
  3. i just noticed 'facing 2' on the front page. this is obviously a mistake. it can't be listed as finished yet, because it never will be.
  4. no offense, foxhull, but it's fallen into the realm of laproject and a few others because of poor leadership and a general lack of people being involved besides avaris. this is what happens when you don't get high-profile mixers on board right away, and try and hack it with unknowns.
  5. i'll take the drum machine if you don't want it any more, i've always wanted to play with one.
  6. i'll do that - it's a good point. i don't know enough about macs to really be able to say anything specific.
  7. how long did it take for you to get the settings right so that all the knobs worked? i've tried a zillion enigma preset banks and haven't gotten one to work right yet.
  8. it looked like a keyrig 61 of some sort, but it had more than 8 knobs so i knew it couldn't be that. plus, m-audio boards don't play nice with fl, as far as i've seen =( bad considering i own an axiom 49.
  9. my wife and i honeymooned at VA beach. being a new york driver, i'm used to people have some sort of control over the vehicles they drove. not true in any sense of the word. and yet, the few massachusets drivers we saw were the worst of all =) edit: jam stunna, you, as always, are teh awesome! make sure to leave that monitor in nj next time you're there, maybe it'll sink with everything else.
  10. nothing's going to change the fact that you live in a state that's known for whores and cheap entertainment. they filmed the sopranos near you, and that's a bragging point? you'd think NY would get that bad of a rap, but you totally beat them out...and you're proud of it. of course, i'm part of a whole that wants nyc to be a different state so we don't pay taxes that basically just go to support everyone living on the bottom floor of the city, but that's just me.
  11. oh, hey, i missed this thread. i was going to suggest the x230 until i saw someone else had already done so. i still think you should buy them, since they're a fantastic sounding set of speakers.
  12. i generally keep my windows volume at 75%. there's no difference, from a speaker's standpoint, since the volume control adjustment comes before the speaker anyways. but if you blast windows' sound to the max all the time, it'll clip a little coming out of the computer, adding a little distortion to the sound - which is annoying. keeping windows at 75% generally fixes this issue.
  13. except that the game hasn't come out in america yet, last time i checked. so the only way to get it is to hack a psp or to play the japanese version. oh, and everyone from ocr owns an nds, not a psp =)
  14. i tried out altavista's image search a while ago. it uses google's same parameters for pictures, and also allows you to search for a specific size for wallpaper - but those sizes are generally too small (or really skinny to fit on a 3 x 17" triple monitor setup)). and their results are atrocious compared to google's, unfortunately.
  15. lies. prophecy obviously did it. i'm looking forward to 2009 for dissidia, riddick, witcher's 360 port/version, and a chance to play a buttload of psp games that i've missed since release. ff13 is pretty exciting, too.
  16. did you reinstall windows or fl anytime recently? i had a similar problem happen to me, and it's related to how windows handles mp3 files. restrictions on the mp3 format mean that you've gotta actually install an mp3 codec system into your computer, and where it goes on install changes occasionally for some reason. fl probably just 'lost' it. try reinstalling your hacked illegal downloaded torrented warez version of fl5 (lol, fl5...what a shitty release. there's a reason 6 came out like two months later) and see if that fixes it. also, if you're in school, fl's got a huge discount with academic pricing websites.
