  1. Anyway, servers are updated and back online. And I left the Deadchat plugin alone.
  2. Oh, before I forget: Required updates for Team Fortress 2 and Day of Defeat: Source are on the way. They should be live in about 1 hour. (this was posted to the hlds_linux list 30 minutes ago)
  3. Actually, I was one of the people who would like to see panic off the rotation. It still has problems, namely the speed that the cart moves back in the third part makes the first two points moot. Whichever team plays all pyros will essentially win round 3. Worse yet, the cart is bugged in part 3 and won't always stop when someone gets near it when it's near the end of the track. Even before the part where it starts bending down. I personally witnessed this, so it isn't hear-say on my part.
  4. Well, when I said you had access to Kick votes and Ban votes, I meant !votekick and !voteban. As far as I know, everyone has access to nominate, rtv, votescramble, votegravity, votekick, and voteban. Well, I looked up the Admin Commands page and checked them against the flags the Reserved Slots group has, then added in the commands attached to custom flags we added, and subtracted the commands we moved to other flags (like sm_votegravity). It's funny that you mentioned this, I suggested to the other admins just yesterday that maybe we should upgrade. We're probably going to upgrade sometime soon, but we don't want to do it when the server is in active use.
  5. It looks like Reserved Slots have access to: Forcing votekick Forcing voteban Turning Deadtalk on and off (I'm not sure about this one) Turning Alltalk on and off (I'm not sure about this one either) I'm not sure about the latter two, because they are both settings rather than actual Sourcemod commands.
  6. Thank you for pointing that out. That oversight has now been corrected.
  7. I've seen 6/8 admins on in the last week. As a reminder, the admin list is Bahamut, FireSlash, Powerlord, Brushfire, CaptainYahoo, DarkeSword, Garian, and Rambo. You can always see the current list in the MOTD. The two I didn't see are CaptainYahoo (I don't even know his current nick), and Bahamut.
  8. Yes, because no matter how stacked the teams are, there's always going to be someone who bitches. I coUld do namecalling here, But Everyone probabLy knows.
  9. I thought the Ambassador did the same amount of damage as the Revolver, but it fires slower. The Huntsman's main disadvantage is that you can't instantly fire it... it takes a second to pull the arrow back first.
  10. Bodyshots aren't that powerful unless the sniper has been zoomed in for a while. While zoomed in, they move at 20% of their normal speed, making them easy targets to certain other attacks (other snipers, spies, direct hit shots...)
  11. I bodyshot people all the time! Then again, I tend to use The Huntsman. Still, with the Sniper Rifle, I find it easier to bodyshot Scoots when charged, since they still die from a single hit.
  12. Mmm, reminds me of the other day when we had 7 (SEVEN) Snipers on one team.
  13. This would be what team scramble (either vote or force) are for.
  14. It's not a shop. I was on when he got it (and immediately commented on it in voice chat, although I called it "Community The Rocket Launcher" instead of "Community Rocket Launcher." Also, community weapons have green names. You can see them on the tf2items site that way.
  15. Team Fortress 2 has been updated. This update fixes a crash during startup for Linux dedicated servers. Luckily, our servers weren't affected by this problem (the hlds_linux list got a LOT of traffic with people bitching about servers crashing on startup). I'm still not sure why the client needed to be updated for this... Probably due to the version number changing. Edit: Servers are now updated and back online.
  16. A required update for Team Fortress 2 is now available. Please run hldsupdatetool to receive the update. The specific changes include: Added 3 new hats that can be worn by any class. - "Towering Pillar of Hats" - "Noble Amassment of Hats" - "Modest Pile of Hat" Added Propaganda contest winners' hats for First Place, First Runner-up, and Second Runner-up. Added "Edit Loadout" button to the class menu. Changed the main menu background to randomly use the Red, Blue, and Soldier/Demo background images. Fixed Snipers being able to shoot enemies through gates. Fixed Linux servers not properly reconnecting to Steam when they lose their connection. Fixed stickies being destructible before they're stuck to something. Fixed the return progress bar above a dropped flag not animating if the return time on the flag is less than 30 seconds. Fixed the CTF HUD not properly handling flags being disabled/enabled during the round. Fixed player health panels sometimes using the wrong animations for buffed or low health values. Updated the net_showevents convar to be marked as a cheat. Updated the main menu news buttons to direct players to the most recent TF2 update and the TF2 blog. Updated Italian localization strings. Updated the custom TF2 fonts with Polish characters. Updated CP_Gorge. - Added more cover outside of the initial BLU spawn area. - Added a forward spawn for the BLU team after Cap1 is captured. - Added another access point to the upper level from the front of the RED base - Added more cover in the room just before Cap2. - Decreased RED team's respawn time while they own Cap1. - Fixed a few areas where players would sometimes become stuck. Community requests: Added new options for the Invade CTF game mode flag. Default is 1. - 0 : No neutral time - 1 : Flag goes neutral in 30 seconds (current behavior) - 2 : Flag goes neutral in 1/2 the return time Added scoring choice for the Invade CTF game mode. Default is 0. - 0 : Increment score (current behavior) - 1 : Increment capture count Added new inputs to item_teamflag - ForceDrop : Force the flag to be dropped if it's being carried by a player. - ForceReset : Force the flag to be dropped if it's being carried by a player, then reset the flag to its original location. - SetReturnTime : Set the length of time (in seconds) before a dropped flag returns to base. Added new output to item_teamflag - OnTouchSameTeam : Sent when the flag is touched by a player on the same team. I will be restarting the servers momentarily. Also, I fixed an issue with the download mirror not working. It should be serving maps correctly now. In particular, this means that plr_panic_b2 will now be served correctly.
  17. Mad? The server lost 6 people as soon as the map changed (17 to 11), and lost an additional 5 (11 to 6) people during the arena map. If you like arena so much, why were you one of those that left during the map change? And don't say you didn't, I can see it at the top of the log file: L 01/24/2010 - 20:15:38: Started map "arena_lumberyard" (CRC "-58566702") ... L 01/24/2010 - 20:15:42: "atmuh<1239><STEAM_0:0:16969216><>" disconnected (reason "Disconnect by user.")
  18. /agree. After one instance of stage 3, I rtv the map. Speaking of rtv, certain people used nominate and rtv with arena maps to troll the rest of the server tonight (they quit as soon as the arena map actually came up) so arena maps are being removed from the nominate list on BLU. If you really want to play arena, use RED.
  19. Given that on assault cp maps and payload maps, the teams are constantly switching colors, I think this plugin is a bad idea.
  20. So, I've been eyeing the game Global Agenda which comes out next week. Some of the stuff in its videos sounds like "What if you took TF2 and put it into a persistent world?" I'm extremely tempted to buy it. Especially after I noticed the Recon class has Spy-like cloaking. The only problem is, the part where you can take over areas in game requires a subscription.
  21. They may actually be 5 points... I'd have to double-check. Right now, I'm apparently locked out of the stats configuration. However, the in-game plugin should tell you when you get kills how much they're worth.
