Good Lord. Why does everyone want to destroy me at this game? This is why I'm not putting my Brawl Friend Code into the database.
-
I don't know why people think R.O.B. is bad. He's actually pretty decent. I think people are just more offended than anything that he's an actual character rather than him being bad.
-
To be clear, I'm not trying to be an ass or anything. My main goal is to make things fun for people I play with. I just don't like using my main because it pisses people off.
-
One of you guys will probably eventually make me break out my main at some point. I'd have to be thoroughly pissed for that to happen though. Right now it's just fun and games practicing everyone else on you guys. TCP, please fix your Internet so I can three stock you again.

Drack's pretty good too. I'd say he's one of the better dudes on this board. Based on what he knows and how much of a good fight he put up, I'm pretty sure he can take on just about anyone on these boards. BRB. I'll be sitting here and practicing my main.

The only reason I'd see anyone do that in Brawl is if they're actually playing themselves. I'm not sure what he's doing exactly, but there's not really anything else he could be doing with two controllers at once.
-
Just like all the other Smash games, no. The only thing you can have multiple saves in is Subspace Emissary.
-
If you don't have Brawl, how can you train for any of this? Anyways, I'm guessing it's going to be the initial characters? They're all pretty good initial characters... except for Yoshi. Just play smart and play to win if that's what you want... Edit: Here are a few photos I took of Sakurai before his presentation at Game Developer's Conference at San Francisco. He took a photo of me taking a photo of him, lol.

Oh um. About the database thing. I dunno. I get the feeling I'm going to get a bunch of challengers wanting to prove something about to me about their Smash ability when I just don't really care that much at who's better. I still have a bunch of Melee challenges from out of state still in pending...
-
Yea it's a charged up tip hit. To be fair, tips are harder to get in this one than Melee. Marth is still cheap though.
-
Drack why haven't we played yet?
-
Yea they somehow made the double forward-air that Ken patented in Melee even easier to do now.
-
Don't expect any good competition at Gamestop. There's never any there unless there are people like me that go to steal candy from all the Smash babies... but I don't do that. I'm not THAT bored.
-
I think that post of mine was responding to the post about bucketing final smashes. Just bad timing on a post I didn't really double check on.
-
Very unlikely.
-
Yea. But you're attack power is diminishing and you're completely open near the ground. :3
-
What? Did you forget Isai's Captain Falcon for 64? Edit: Also I'm at Game Developer's Conference this year. I'll be seeing Sakurai speak about Brawl on Friday afternoon.
-
Kinda. He is buffed up in many other ways though so he is a fierce character regardless of terrible dodge roll.
-
It's a parachute. The only damage you can inflict with G&W's Up + B is when he's going upwards. After he shoots upwards, he begins to float with the parachute out. He can cancel out of this and attack which most characters can't do after Up + Bs of this nature.

I don't think there will be any changes from the Japanese to the US release of Brawl except for the language and name differences. i.e. Ice Climber => Ice Climbers Zenigame => Squirtle Fushigisou => Venusaur Lizardon => Charizard Koopa => Bowser Robot => R.O.B. (Hopefully) And yes, the US and Japanese should be able to Brawl with each other on wifi. As for those official Melee tournaments are you talking about the Nintendo sponsored ones? Or the "no item, neutral stages" ones? If you're talking about the latter, I've played in several of those, all of which have state-ranked and/or national-ranked players. I never win these ones, but often times I'm in the top 1/3 or top 1/4, sometimes placing higher than some state ranked players. I'm not state ranked or anything because I don't play enough tournaments. Also I don't think I'm that good though. I'm too easy to read. Edit: Sorry I don't know anything about custom avatars. Someone help the guy out.

They are not even similar to their "counterparts" in the slightest. As for this whole thing about what takes more skill, just stop it already. There are tourneys that allow items and there are tourneys that don't. There are different sets of rules. The hardcore "no item" tournaments don't allow items, because the point of it is to see who has the best handle on their character(s) and who can outwit the rest. The casual "items on" tournaments have a different purpose and set of rules all together thus it takes a different kind of skill to play in this way. Only difference I've seen between the two (and I can say this because I'm very familiar with what kind of skill level you can expect at both kinds of tournaments) is that most "no item" tournament goers have a much firmer grasp on character mechanics. In fact I've always noticed a really good "no item" tournament caliber player will probably win at an "items on" tournament. While I can understand what those are saying about it takes more skill to play with items, it's just harder to believe when you say luck is involved. That's like trying to win a football game with a field goal kick and then crossing your fingers a giant brick wall doesn't just magically appear in front of the goal post. If you're not familiar with both sides of this whole tournament thing, please stop assuming things. All I can see is people trying to grasp at whatever straws they can get and trying to justify that they are "good" at the game just because they beat the same circle of four friends. If you're so casual about the whole game I don't see what the big deal is about skill. People. Just play the damn game however you want but don't cry when you can't adhere to a different set of rules and expectations.

Yes that box in the corner is an explosive one. You can't blow it up merely by throwing it. It will explode after it takes sufficient damage. Anything in range will either take a lot of damage or thrown out completely. As for the Zelda pic, yes that is Subspace Emissary.
-
Just practice. I do it all the time when I want to.
-
Play in whatever way you think is more fun.

I forgot to ask. But what does GDC have to do with you not going to the tournament? You're not even going to GDC.
