I already know what I got... and I'm gonna lump some stuff from my birthday since it was so close. Lost Season 3 DVDs Chrono Cross Original Soundtrack Piano Solo Arrangement Book Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (bought for myself) That's about it. I don't like getting a lot of things.

Hey I want to be that good. -
The beard goes UNDER his arm. THAT's manly.

There's plenty of team battles at tournaments if you like... go to them.

I went to Northern California Ultimate Biweekly at San Jose State University. Biggest f'ing tournament I've been to with a large handful of top names in the state there. Here's the list of the 48 of the 90 people. The bottom 42 players not listed were all eliminated in pools. Singles (90 Entrants, 48 in Bracket Only) 1: 2: 3: Falcomist 4: Nemesis 5: Mexican 5: Lucien 7: Tang 7: Meep 9: Germ 9: Mr. Ganondorf 9: SideFX 9: Choknater 13: 13: BTZO 13: Frotaz 13: Phil 17: Khepri 17: Mike666 17: DRGN 17: HugQ 17: SNPR 17: Kira 17: Delphiki 17: Hyuga 25: Nek 25: AfroJustin 25: Global-Trance 25: SYNSEER 25: Hydrokirby 25: Simna 25: Mike Haze 25: T0mmy 33: P 33: JP 33: D4DDy 33: Hardgay 33: Kizzo 33: Nhat 33: Darkmatma 33: Twin 33: HMW 33: Mexi 33: Scamp 33: Zoap 33: Ian 33: BB 33: REL 33: Quak

I haven't done it, but if you want to do it, turn off the sound. The timing de-synchs so horribly to the sounds and what you see.

Geno and his Frisbee of 9999

It probably wouldn't. Just stating that it lags in Melee.

Fountain of Dreams was awesome but it lags so hard with four people.

I think we've hit an all-time low for testing in games. -
I'm responding to this kinda late. Just wanted to say that the idea is good, but I feel most VG remixes I hear aren't suited (or good enough) for club play.
-
I had started a similar thread a few years ago about the same thing... sorta. I can't think of too many examples off the top of my head of VG music on vinyl, though I am certain they DO exist. As a DJ, I've had my run-ins with white-label bootleg tracks of retro games like Donkey Kong and such in the record store. I also can't help but be reminded of the official Parasite Eve remixes on vinyl. I'm sure you could easily EBay for those. As for the "Death of Vinyl" video, I don't think vinyl will ever die out... though I myself have found myself leaning towards Serato and CDJs in live mixing. I can't afford to buy vinyl all the time.

Scroll over for spoiler/question. Anyone else find the Shadow Luigi races to be a lot harder than the Shadow Mario ones?

So I went to a tournament a couple weeks ago and I guess some videos surfaced. Here are some team videos. I was on the team called "Buy Super Mario Galaxy". I'm the Falco totally sucking it up that day. My style of play isn't suited for teams apparently. Buy Super Mario Galaxy vs Drephen Buy Super Mario Galaxy vs ZBFC (Bob (not Rob) Money wtf) (I COMPLETELY BLEW IT) My team placed 2nd on teams despite my partner and I having a very off day in terms of performance.

What are you asking for for Christmas?
Global-Trance replied to supremespleen's topic in General Discussion
I'm not so young anymore so I can't be asking for too much... maybe I'll just ask for this piano book since I've just started playing the piano. -
Well I know I could consult Smashboards, but I'd rather not. Though I know I would find more hardcore Smashers at Smashboards I feel I'd be more comfortable playing with people from these boards just because I've been here for so many years. *shrugs* It was much easier to find people to play with at UC Santa Barbara but those days are over.

Though bizarre, I think it's just them having a good sense of humor. The more I play, the more I like it.

No problem, man. Also for those that have 120 stars and have been playing through again... [bizarre Spoilers]Anyone else find it REALLY weird with two Luigi's running about?! When I jumped into the Ghostly Galaxy I was thinking that it would be Mario that I would end up finding... but there's a second Luigi. And he helps you find Power Stars too. The dialogue has also been slightly adjusted to account for the fact there are two Luigis. They acknowledge the fact there are two but everyone doesn't mind at ALL.[/bizarre Spoilers]

Actually a much easier way to do it is to be next to the Thwomp, face towards it, and then when it comes down, backflip while holding in the direction towards it, spin near the top, and you will grab on since you are already facing it. This eliminates the necessity to wall jump off it. So all you need is one backflip and one spin. No need to get all complicated here.
-
Yup, can't argue with that. Excellent. Now seriously, anyone in the Bay Area want to play Smash with me? I'm pretty lonely when it comes to gaming.
-
This is all true. But like I said, it's not needed. I find all the L-Cancel, Waveshine business not that difficult (I'm known to be a technical beast) but in the high level tournament experiences I've gone through I know that if I'm not playing smart, my technical ability will hardly have anything to show for it. I got to play some good folks at Smash at Ken's house awhile ago. I wasn't getting four stocked or anything but it sure was humbling. Playing incredibly smart by far outweighs playing with incredible technical ability. Acquiring both... well that's the path to being truly great at this game.
-
A lot of truth but I have to pick out this is wrong. Fox is fast enough that he doesn't require wavedash. Fox is more suited for dash dance and pivot games with the jump-cancel grabs (anyone who doesn't know about this, feel free to ask) with relentless (but smart) follow-ups. Also short hop neutral A kicks are godly if you've chipped their shield away enough... Short hops are really easy with Fox. If you want something somewhat difficult, try something like... dashing short hop reverse laser. Fox isn't my main, but in high level play I don't think I've lost very many matches when using him. I'd consider him my 2nd best? As for that Link... get some L-Cancels and some mindgames. Also I was talking about Starstorm awhile back... guess I called it being in the game..? *shrug*

Wooooo 120 stars. Ending makes a little more sense. Spoilers: Aeris dies.

I just realized that Mario had a homing stomp attack. Jump, spin, then butt stomp in midspin.
