Chris8282
I ordered an SR60 from Amazon. They sent me an SR80. Which is about 40$ more, for free. I'm glad for that, but the only problem is that it's a "BIG" plug and I don't know how to use it. It unscrews to the standard size, but I get less quality right? Sorry.. absolute headphone newb here. lazygecko
Shouldn't be any significant loss of quality, the big plug is just there for compability with studio hardware.
Rozovian
No quality loss. Without the screwed-on adapter, it should (theoretically) be higher quality (not significantly, not an audible difference). So just out of curiosity, why do you think the smaller plug gets you lower quality?
FR
So just out of curiosity, why do you think the smaller plug gets you lower quality? Because the plug is smaller The difference in quality depends on the format the music (or whatever) it is in and where it's being played, I'm no expert so I'm probably wrong (With the big plug on my home theater system music sounds worse then with the small plug on my pc...That's probably because I'm using FLAC and a DSP and Equalizer and other plug-ins on my winamp ). starla
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_plug As far as I can tell and from personal experience, the smaller cords tend to be lower quality and break easier than the larger professional ones, the quality isn't in the plug itself but more the whole package. Drack
The quality is in the cable much more than the jacks and plugs. Just use an adapter. Also, the quality difference between the cables with 3.5mm plugs and cables with 1/4" plugs isn't that great. You'll be fine with your current cables. Chris8282
Oh, great. I didn't know all that... But I do know that OCRemixes sound great with these headphones...
suzumebachi
Grados... a wise choice. No there's no innate quality difference between 1/4" and 1/8" jacks. The supposed quality loss comes from using an adapter, but it's absolutely negligible anyways (unless there's a short or your adapter is truly a piece of shit). Shadow Wolf
Yeah, as long as you have a headphone connector with 2 bands on it, you're getting stereo, the size difference is nothing but a size difference.
