Is there a way to find the acapella voice work from Final Fantasy X without the background music from the game?

If you can find the music without the singing you can invert the phasing, then play it over top, this should effectively cut out the music.

Fixed. The method works in theory, but in practice you'll end up with a lot of weird artifacts.

I've never actually tried it either, and if the clips are even a little bit off from eachother it wouldn't work.

yeh, it works but only to an extent, better for smaller stuff like cutting out some fuzz from a recording, as long as your frequency range isnt all over the charts.
