SLyGeN
So, after listening to The Dark Forest and Hyrule Castle out of Mithius' brilliant project, I'm finding that it's put me in a phase where all I want to listen to are marches. Particularly any that have minor key tonality (dark-sounding). Any suggestions?
PrototypeRaptor
Sounds like you need some german military marches... My friend had a CD of some german military band playing the greats over there, and some of them were downright evil. Plus, unlike the U.S., their marches lean VERY heavily on the down beats. Russian marches are often minor too and usually, well, russian. Let's see if I can find some linkage... (youtube links following) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FNo2hlcOqw&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FNo2hlcOqw&feature=related (here's a russian one...lol at the huge soviet flag)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACALcnQPc0U&feature=related hope that's enough to get you headed in the right direction. Jarvi
I think the last three marches (The Elephant, Simoraine, and Brothers of the Olf Brigade) that my marching band played were all minor keys, but I might be wrong, in any case, I enjoyed them. PrototypeRaptor
Here you go, nice and dark:no pun intended man, don't post rolling thunder unless it's a GOOD recording...as a trombonist, it holds a special place of hatred in my heart. plus, that marching band took it at like, 30 beats under tempo. Here, have the USAF band's version. NOW feel sorry for us... http://www.usafband.af.mil/shared/media/band/USAFB_RollingThunder.mp3
3Sparrow
The Russian march I listen to alot is "The Sacred War". It reminds me of the title theme from Star Wars: Republic Commando ("Vode An") A German march I listen to alot can be heard in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, called Der Königgrätzer Marsch. don't know if that dark enough for you, but it's got a beat. Seriously, I used to play this as loud as possible when I had a decent system in my car.

Schwaltzvald
Congratulations on being the only one in this thread that knows what the minor key sounds like.. Thanks I try. Also here some more though they are more like performances than actual march songs; nonetheless imo I felt they are awesome performances. Songs that a bunch of soldiers would entertain themselves when at base and resting up for an upcoming battle.
