buh6173 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 The tracks currently used as sources are improperly translated; the DS version of the game gave the correct translations of each of the tracks. Shouldn't they be edited on here to avoid confusion? Quote
Liontamer Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 If there are official English translations, that's cool. I don't know of any album release for the DS soundtrack. Is there an iTunes release or sound test that gives info on official English track names? If so, give it up. Quote
Palpable Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 The DS version does have a sound test, which is probably as definitive a list of English song names as we'll get. http://chrono.wikia.com/wiki/Chrono_Trigger_Original_Sound_Version Though in my copy of the DS game I see track 13 called "Guardia Castle - Pride & Glory". The rest match. Quote
Liontamer Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 So...will this be fixed, or what? Or what. (Yeah, we'll go live with the fixes soon. Danke.) Quote
buh6173 Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 Well, from the looks of it, most of them were fixed. Though it looks like someone missed "The Final Battle", as it's still called "Last Battle with Lavos". Also, for some reason, Rhythm or Earth, Wind, and Sky is on there, but it doesn't direct to any songs. Quote
Olarin Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 http://www.ocremix.org/song/id/747/ It got renamed to "At the End of Time", but it still gets listed as "The Brink of Time" in the lists of songs for the remixes that use it. Also, for this particular song, I think it would be a good idea to stick with the title "The Brink of Time", given that it was the title track of an official arranged soundtrack album: http://www.squaresound.com/chrono-trigger-the-brink-of-time-p9.html Quote
Native Jovian Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Changing track names like this is always sort of tricky, because even if they're not official or even entirely accurate, a lot of them have the kind of recognition factor where people will be be looking for the "wrong" track name. The best example I can think of is "The Dream that Time Dreams" from the Chrono Cross soundtrack... which most people I run into know as "Time of the Dreamwatch". Quote
Liontamer Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 The DS sound test names, like them or not, are official; we're gonna use those without exceptions. We do have an alias area for songs that I believe is currently not live, AFAIK. djp would need to implement that visibility. Songs would still be searchable by alias. Quote
buh6173 Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 As Olarin noted on above, while the track names on the full listing are correct, if you look at the individual remixes, they still have the old track names listed (Brink of Time, Wind Scene, etc.). Also, this has nothing to do with the track names, but while on the topic of Chrono Trigger, why are most of the songs from Chrono Symphonic not listed with the rest of the remixes? Quote
Liontamer Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 The song names will eventually by synced up, so that'll be fine. We list tracks submitted and approved as individual OC ReMixes. Tracks on albums aren't necessarily OC ReMixes, and albums are their own entities. Quote
buh6173 Posted March 15, 2009 Author Posted March 15, 2009 Well, wait...what do you mean by "tracks on albums aren't necessarily OC ReMixes"? Are they from another site, or what? Quote
Chickenwarlord Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 They all came from artists who willingly contributed to the album's creation. Albums are sponsored by ocremix, but not all tracks are submitted to the main site, and as such remain as only albums features. Others get submitted and rejected from being front page material for either production issues/coverish issues. Quote
KyleJCrb Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 You might notice that every track from Project Chaos, Kong In Concert, or hell, just about every other project isn't up on OCR either. Quote
buh6173 Posted July 5, 2009 Author Posted July 5, 2009 A few are still messed up, namely Battle with Magus > Magus Confronted Battle 1 > Battle Final Battle with Lavos/Last Battle (they're listed twice?) > The Final Battle Not to mention I have no idea what the hell "By a Hair's Breadth" is. Quote

I'm going to look through and reconfirm everything, no worries. Quote
buh6173 Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 The only thing still messed up is that Final Battle with Lavos is listed seperately from The Final Battle. Oh, and I don't know why Critical Moment is there if no songs link to it. Quote

We'll take care of those. We have a other songs in the DB that don't have ReMixes assigned to them, we're fine with that. Quote
