Are any of my old friends still alive?

Who am I? Why am I here?

    Game over for VGMix? NOPE

So, yeah. Down for at least a week and a half now, based on when this thread over at The Shizz was created (there's no word officially about what's going on there either). Sad times, even if the site hasn't been in operating condition for quite awhile, it is part of the history of this community. Has anyone heard any confirmation regarding the current status of VGMix?
  3. Just to add real quick: After Burner got an unlicensed port to the NES thanks to our friends at Atari Tengen (which was updated by none other than Sunsoft for a later Famicom release) so I'd call the 2A03 usage in this song kosher. Not that it wouldn't be if that port didn't exist, but there is at least a precedent.
  4. My favorite remixer finally covers my favorite game soundtrack. Yeah, I'm all in on this one.

    OverClocked Podcast - 30 - Grant Kirkhope

What's with your co-host this week? He sounds like someone grating cheese with a guitar.
  6. So it was true. We can at least confirm that SEGA kept and used one of his compositions for the Credits theme. 2013 UPDATE: GameTrailers' Pop-Fiction did their own investigation into this and found that yes, Jackson did in fact compose some of the music that appears in the final game. Liontamer EDIT (1/25/2016): This great read by Huffington Post's Todd Van Luling finally and truly 100% confirms from 3 of the credited Sonic 3 composers that Michael Jackson made music for Sonic 3 and it made it into the game.

    Mega Man 5-Dark Man Stage

This is one of my favorite video game songs, so here's every remix of it I have.

The Ninja Warriors - Daddy Mulk

Great song. There's a couple of remixes of it out there: (shows up toward the end) (cool video of a 1990 performance by Taito's house band ZUNTATA)

Throwing one in for the ladies: 1. Roll (Mega Man) 2. Rosalina (Mario) 3. Tikal (Sonic)
  11. Knowing Nase, I'm almost certain the pun was completely intentional.
  12. So, just watched the premiere of the new Last Airbender sequel series The Legend of Korra. They haven't lost a beat in following the original series with strong characters, great writing, and amazing animation. Definitely makes up for that horrible Shyamalan abomination, and I'm really looking forward to more episodes. What do you guys think?

Final Fantasy IX: Worlds Apart - History

I can't wait for this album to have a bonus cover of Separate Ways on it. It has one, right? Because if it doesn't, the wait for this will have been completely worthless.

OverClocked ReMix Design ?'s and Issues

You'd have to take it up with old-school forumite JesusTheDarkLord.
  17. Fixed!
  18. Seriously, put them all in cans. I want to buy them and keep them in the pantry.
  19. I'm flying solo again this week with a GameFuel random playlist special! Tune in:
  20. It's a VGM radio two-fer! Nitro Game Injection (NGI) is a discussion and music show where I'm joined by Larry "Liontamer" Oji to talk about the VGM world and other nerdy topics while also spotlighting game remixes and arrangements, while GameFuel (GF) is a more traditional VGM request show that I host by myself. Both are hosted on Arecibo Radio and are released after airing as podcasts on the KNGI website. NGI broadcasts live on Saturdays at 7:30 PM US Eastern Time. GameFuel is currently used as a fill-in show for NGI based on host availability. __________________________________________ Nitro Game Injection (NGI) is a video game music and discussion podcast that focuses on original soundtracks, remixes, covers, chiptunes, doujin music, game-inspired originals, and the communities that encompass them. It began in early 2003 as a live webcast. It is a live streaming program hosted on Arecibo Radio, alongside recordings released as podcasts on the KNGI Video Game Music Podcast Network. The show is hosted by Kyle "KyleJCrb" Crouse and Larry "Liontamer" Oji, former VG Frequency radio show host and OverClocked ReMix Judge/Community Manager, who has been co-hosting the show since episode #113. The show also regularly features interviews with game composers, audio personnel, remixers, and arrangement artists like Level 99, zircon, virt, Grant Kirkhope, Alexander Brandon, Chris Huelsbeck, Danny B, brentalfloss, Christopher Tin, and more. The Legend of Korra (potential spoilers within)

Ratings have tanked apparently, and ratings are still what make the TV world go 'round.
  22. KyleJCrb

The Legend of Korra (potential spoilers within) Korra episodes are moving exclusively to digital distribution via for the remainder of the season, with the fourth season still reportedly incoming. Seems Nick is adamant on getting rid of this show as fast as they can. Lame.
