Anybody watch The Lawrence Welk Show?

At least here in Knoxville, an hour long celebration of milquetoast champaign music called The Lawrence Welk show plays on PBS before the Britcoms air (7:00 PM Saturday EST). Even for the 60s or 70s or whenever this show was taped, The Lawrence Welk show is the gayest thing I have ever seen put to stage. Not pleasantly or politically homosexual; gay.

It makes an Osmonds stage show look like GG Allin live.

That being said, its also an amazing tool for people like us to study how immaculately crafted music is done. It has a very wide range of (extremely friendly) music and acts that you get to watch an entire orchestra play. Right now, I'm listening to champagne cello music and maybe an NES chiptune piano play a waltz. This is 1970s, people.

If you can stomach the unwholesomely wholesome content, you can really learn a lot from it. I just wondered if anyone else watches and tries to learn from it like I do.

Yes, I'm quite aware how old I am. Its good to see I'm not the only one who is interested to see what music was like before it had to be everything other than music. Its great to see what music was like when it was all talent and hard work, instead of pop and/or antimainstream hooks.

I don't really want to know why, but I'm going to ask anyway.
