z130
Oooookay. This is my second remix that's turned out decent. It's a remix of the Kamella Battle music from Mario Galaxy, completely redone with a very latin groove to it. Here goes. #2 (Most Recent) http://www.mediafire.com/?nzznuxzn0z4 #1 http://www.mediafire.com/?ygxykgmh4kd And this is the original song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucsc3QDO6OY Basically, I slowed it down a ton, changed the bassline (cuz' the original one is WAAAY too dissonant), and added in plenty of new ideas. I think I've improved a ton since my last piece (Dour, Dour Docks), but I'll let you guys be the judge of that. Oh, and the title is tentatively Kamellita, but feedback and new ideas for names are more than welcome.
Rozovian
The arrangement sounds pretty good. The production sounds pretty ... midi-esque. The quick fix would be to apply some subtle reverb on everything, then EQ stuff... but that wouldn't solve problems like ugly brass sustain sound, mechanical guitars... it could bring out the drums, easily. I can definitely hear the source here, and it sounds like the interpretation and arrangement stuff is in the green. Production... not really. Fix this up, this arrangement deserves to sound better. z130
Thanks for the advice. This is the second submission: http://www.mediafire.com/?nzznuxzn0z4 Changes made: -Completely new instrument on bass -Added reverb (I can't believe I forgot to add reverb! I ALWAYS add reverb!) -"Un-quantized" the steel guitar to make it sound more human -Adjusted EQ levels on multiple instruments Does this help at all? As for the trumpets, I'm not sure what else I can do about that. They're the best I've got (why are good brass sounds so hard to find???)
